Battlefield 6 | OT | Time to Sheikh things up.

That's probably true, but as I said once I saw them going the hero shooter route I was more like 'eh, another one bites the dust' and didn't look at the franchise for the ~4 odd years since then besides playing BF1 occasionally, and now buying BF6 when I enjoyed the beta.

Oh don't get me wrong, BF2042 is still probably the worst betrayal of the series in it's entire life span (hardline is probably worse though) and I've been playing since BF1942. BF6, at least at it's core, is starting on a proper foundation.

I hate how expensive skins are, man I would buy so much more if they'd just be half the price...the game is 70 it's like why do all these devs have to be so greedy with skins. Or at least have some sales occasionally, drives me nuts

its literally the only way they make money on post game content since you all refuse to pay for maps and new weapons.

I think BF6 is quite a shit Battlefield. Don't think I've clocked more than 10 hours total. Doubt I'll ever install it again because the updates will just iterate more of the same.

The whole vibe is fucked.

I miss the old mappacks, but they did split up the usedbase unfortunately
yep. this is the best way. you get a new map almost every month instead of 3 maps once every 3 months for $15 that no one wanted to pay.

thank god there is no loot boxes in this game. if you want a skin so bad, just buy it. it sucks but thats literally the best thing they couldve done. paid Map DLCs and loot boxes are far worse alternatives.

But you're not explaining even in what way you've taken that position, the game is awesome man it's easily one of the best feeling battlefields I don't think I can personally stress that enough.. But to each their own

Gotta wonder how some people saw all the pre-release media, maybe played the beta, and then bought the game based on all that... to then decide that they find it shit after a few more hours worth of play, almost like they're surprised with themselves. Haha

Haha exactly like how did they even get that far?

I just think people sadly roll with the waves of the media's, they see this tide of mostly steamer naysayers and it sways their thinking.. That's how it comes off to me and they absolutely talk themselves out of enjoying a game.

This game man at its core is fucking incredible, destruction all over, explosions, good weapon choices, a pretty fair ttk even tho I wouldn't mind a little faster ttk even by a hair but it just is a damn good feeling game.

It needs adjustments like breakthru needs help right now adding tanks and cutting down from 64 sucks, but that's it's own thing not the core gameplay mechanics that are just damn good.

I want larger maps but I mean sometimes people get a little nuts with that, you can only be at one place at a time and if you get bigger maps they hopefully will bump to 128 because 64 people on these maps currently feels pretty good imo

Agree 100%

I love the little bonus paths they're adding that's just great ways to keep it fun chasing some skins and what not, that one challenge was awesome because it was 85 points and unlocked It all pretty much but those little additions are really nice.

So it's cool that empire state stayed snowy, hope it stays that way

The solution to old mappacks splitting the base was just make them free after 6-12 months. And meanwhile don't drop the price of the main game as far as quickly either.

Didn't buy into this one. I was tempted but saw all the same problems I had with the last 3-4.

Good video on the state of cosmetics/customization in the game. Sounds like EA DICE didn't really learn much from 2042 in this department.

The battle pass is absolutely rotten. I'm on 65/110 now and have almost finished all my weekly challenges. It's taking about 22K XP for each point now, which is frankly absurd, and that number is only rising. I can't reasonably be expected to play for 5 hours per day grinding away at this shit. I'm close to unlocking the Mini Scout and I think i'll take that and go if DICE do not put on a double XP weekend or something to get me over the finish line.

Does anyone else have issues with tracking challenges?
These are designed to give BP points but some don't track.
I am tracking the engineer repair vehicles and support heal team mates but they won't budge.

Sometimes they're all in one match and will reset to zero if not completed all in one match

I played two matches of Conquest today after about 20 days or more of not touching the game (Stellaris addiction + end-of-year travel). I'm definitely rusty, but I'm not that bad. The USG-90 feels terrible to use, and I ran into a bunch of players standing still with their backs to me while shooting at something (maybe new players?). I lost both matches, but it wasn't the end of the world. I still love this game.

The only major gripe I have right now is matches are just blowouts both ways, when I win its by 800-1000, and same when I lose. Something is wrong with the lobby balancing big time. The game is awesome tho there are sometimes matches that come down to the wire but those are few and far in between.

Been playing more breakthrough. Despite the ongoing complaints about the mode it feels like it has fewer blowouts than conquest, and the blowouts you do get are at least shorter. Shit gets crazy when attacking or defending the final sector.

The one thing driving me nuts is I have 5 rerolls for challenges and it's saying I don't have any. It makes me so fucking annoyed when it's got shitty battle royale challenges and I can't roll them out.. I refuse to touch that shit mode.

This is how many challenges it took for me to complete the battle pass. Not to mention progression earned through XP, or double battle pass XP weekends.

Not a fan of it, it's way too slow. I feel like you should be able to finish it at eight weeks worth of challenges, at most. Especially since you have to actively go out of your way to complete a lot of them.

I can't imagine myself finishing another one because as time progresses I'll just play the game less and less since I'll inevitably start getting bored.

It took me 5 weeks of challenges. So just grinding regular XP can make a pretty huge difference. Given that I've built up a war chest of Battle Pass Boosters I'm guessing S2 shouldn't be too bad for me.

But yeah it's all designed to put psychological pressure on you to log in and play consistently. That bonus challenge always gets me. Maybe I'll be smart in S2 and just ignore the challenges aside from rerolling game types I'm not going to play (as the rerolls reset weekly), and then just knock out exactly how many tiers I need via challenges at the very end of the season in one very efficient Casual Breakthrough session.

Do you have pro? I can't imagine how anyone could complete it that quickly otherwise unless if you're really high level.

I'm saying, I think they are lying. I don't think they own this game and its odd to say this like "another 20" cause I'm confused on what that means. They are operating on a dated assumption based on generations ago of BF, which means even last generation, they likely did not play the BF IP, they would have already known they no longer charge for maps..

So....sounds like a fucking liar to me. That is what someone would say that never actually played the last several BF titles, they are just repeating nonsense lol

Oh I must have just hallucinated the Battlepass + skins + store shirt that is always shove to my face every time I log in. The skins that range from like $5 (that are only color scheme changes) to like 12-15.

and before the obvious cattle response of "it is just optional/visual", we used to get this as unlocks (proper skins agains, not re colors), instead to spend more money besides the 80 bucks they already asked for.

Ok annnnnd you don't need to spend a cent on any of that shit.

you crying over shit like this? lol

Um.... ok.

Still enjoying the game but it feels like the playerbase (at least in my region) has diminished quite a bit.
Played for a few hours last night with some friends, and basically every game mode outside of conquest was filled with bots.

I do have the Pro token from ordering the extra expensive edition. I thought it was just a 15% XP boost but I guess there were tier skips as well. I'm just past level 250 now, not sure what I was when I finished the pass.
Nah it's great, just needs a few more bugfixes and a solo mode. Hopefully the most unfortunately delayed Elite Series pops off.

I'll never get into BR, however gauntlet isn't that bad I will admit.

Anyone else just love how the Trait feels? I love it, that sucker will bury dudes 😂

I apologize for not using Google, but what's the difference between the Origin and Steam versions? I vaguely remember something about updates coming to Steam first and some other issues on the EA version.
I'm sitting on an Intel bundle key and I don't really care for BF6, but I'm not keen on Assassin's Creed either.

I think that most of the time is fairly common, I have zero issue getting full matches on ps5. I do think that new seasons will always bring a nice influx, and any dlc obviously. Also any changes made for the better to core modes etc will always help. The game isn't going anywhere, 2042 had many ups and downs and turned out pretty awesome.

Yeah I don't think this should be a big surprise. You can only have so much time for this kind gaas seasons shit, and the above mentioned slow progression and questionable challenges.. not much fun to be honest. No wonder most people move on.
During last fall I tried to juggle FC 26 + BF6 and this was between 2x Diablo4 seasons, but starting now I say fuck it, not gonna force and chase seasons any more than I enjoy and that's unlikely with the current state of these BF challenges anyway. And I rather prefer D4 of such games where I have ~2 weeks straight fun and move on till next time.

Yea they need to tweak things a bit I think if they can make better adjustments to progression it'll bring back a chunk of players.

I personally love the game I always love having a side go to shooter for matches along with having 2 or 3 games I'm working on like rpgs etc so it's perfect for what I look for and it plays so well.

I crush the challenges in a match or so, I like them but they need to really tune gun leveling, takes way to long and I mean I get as I said before 30 to 50 kills most matches and it's still fairly slow so I can't imagine for those that maybe aren't really hammering kills how slow it would feel.

But it's gonna do alright overall I think, we need more solid shooters in the gaming world

Anyone else get this weird microstutter with their mouse? The game keeps running but my mouse just stops responding for a microsec. This has never happened before nor in other games. This occurred since the last patch

Thank you. Finally someone who gets it. Y'all want extra maps, modes, skins, weapons for free. Guess what... Devs don't work for free. Self-made problems. I'd happily pay for a fucking premium pass like before.

What this game needs is proper maps. Just remake all the great maps from former entries. Plenty of fan favorites to choose from. No complaints from me. Hell, even the maps from 2042 were better in terms of vehicle play.

The game is not dead, obviously, but it's bleeding players constantly.
Yesterday the peak concurrent player count on Steam dropped to 85K. And the low player count is now 32K.

I'd be curious to really deep dive into how numbers looked for all of the greatest shooters and how well they sustained, while I'm not worried about the game I do agree to go from 700k to 85-100k so quick is a bit wild but I don't think dice did themselves any favors fucking with like breakthrough the way they did, or adding casual breakthrough and way to many other modes that aren't necessary.

I don't think battle royale helped much either not for the battlefield community, I get theres people that like It but at its core it's litrelly the opposite of what Battlefield is at its core.

But we will see, I'll be curious how it the numbers can jump back to 200k perhaps for season 2.
