Battlefield 6 | OT | Time to Sheikh things up.

How's the game holding up today? Is it worth a repurchase?
Not really, in fact I thought it was better at launch than it is now. It has way too many playlists which I imagine has fractured the player base and it's filled with splash screens for MTX when logging in.

Don't get me wrong, there's still some fun to be had, but the group I usually play with have dropped it completely.

This is how many challenges it took for me to complete the battle pass. Not to mention progression earned through XP, or double battle pass XP weekends.

Not a fan of it, it's way too slow. I feel like you should be able to finish it at eight weeks worth of challenges, at most. Especially since you have to actively go out of your way to complete a lot of them.

I can't imagine myself finishing another one because as time progresses I'll just play the game less and less since I'll inevitably start getting bored.

why even bother? You get shit cosmetics for running their maze of "challenges" like a rat. BPs being paid and then making you actually work for the content AFTER you've paid for it is a proper scam.

I play the game because it's fun. Feel sorry for some of y'all.

I see these comments alot and it's not the flex you think it is and it's just such a minimalistic, hyperbolic approach when gaming has changed that yes people like to play and unlock things that's litrelly a staple in most games, whether that's a story driven game where you're "unlocking" finding loot per say, or opening more of the story etc... Those are the rewards of play.

Same goes for a battlefield, I'm a shooter player been playing I have thousands upon thousands of hours since I started playing via my 2400 baud modem in the 90s on every shooter imaginable since wolfenstein. I play for fun but I also play for other fun elements like unlocking weapons, attachments, skins etc... I have about 300 hours in BF6 and it's all for fun but sure it's fun to unlock some cool skins and what not, like just because you don't care doesn't diminish that alot of people enjoy unlocks

As for what else someone said above about all the other sfuff, I personally never see many say they want it for free... I know I don't, hell I'd be happy to pay a fucking monthly 19.99 sub like an mmo to these guys if it helps bring more content absolutely

It absolutely is the flex I think it is. Genuinely sorry for anyone addicted to the dopamine unlocks treadmill. The publishers got you by the balls.

300 hours bro, you think every minute is dedicated to some unlock? Lol I play this shit for the fun that it is but I enjoy those other aspects, what a silly hill to die on. According to most people that want to claim the game is dead or lost it's numbers yet I'm a player that plays hours a day still match after match, I'm one of the few in here praising the fucking game

Yeah I won't be buying the season 2 battle pass. I figured it would be like BF2042's Road to BF6 pass which was manageable, but it's not. It's a tedious grind much like everything else in this game.

Also just mentioned this in the BO7 thread, which is dropping it's second batch of dlc today despite launching a month after this game. We've had 2 maps in 3 months, none in 2 months. What the fuck are they doing?

So you'd be 100% fine with one single gun option? They just hand you one single AR no attachments nothing, no skins, nothing, just you, your gun and the map and you go fight endlessly.. You're saying you're perfectly fine with that?

You're right, this is the second time I've ever bought a battle pass, once in a Call of Duty game (MW2019) and this game right here. Not a fan.

I play for fun above all else, the challenges take up 5% of my entire playtime because they're usually short and quick to finish, the point is, the progression is still really slow. The issue is that there's plenty of weapons which are free that they lock behind the battle pass, so even if you don't buy it you and you want to unlock one of those weapons you still have to progress through it.

That shouldn't be the case at all, it should be strictly cosmetics, skins, stickers or whatever. Weapons should be unlocked for everyone at the start of the season, or whenever they become available, or at least unlockable through in game challenges because those weapons ultimately change the dynamic of how the game plays.

I'm on the fence with comments like these, on one hand I fully understand your point about the grind…but on the other hand I remember people shititng on COD players (myself included) about how they NO LIFE this game and a day after release they have unlocked everything!

So with that being said maybe the grind shouldn't be as tedious but I get where the devs are coming from with trying to keep you engaged and not having the best of the best after just a day let alone a week for a live service type of game.

I'm more leaning towards the grind but I get what you mean but yeah… this is crazy

It shouldn't be tedious at all if you've paid actual money for it. But they want to scam you out of getting your coins back so here we are.

I played a few matches today and racked up an absurd number of kills against real players. Like, I probably play above average, but nothing that would justify getting 30+ easy kills in normal matches. What made me think about it is that most of the kills were against enemies just standing still, aiming at something. I'm guessing it's because of the Recon challenge, lmao.

I was done with the bp like at week 6. The bp the easiest thing really. People are only not playing because more people are playing more then just one game forever these days. I stopped playing bf6 completely until a new season comes out. This is because i have a ton of other games i want to play. The new thing to do is complete battle pass then go back to your single player games until the next season. Like why would i play arc raiders, fortnite, bf6, cod only all the time? Do the season for 3-4 weeks and then keep it moving. Everyone eats this way.

After a few hundred hours and initial hype on release I am pretty bored of the game now.
I think they really changed the fundamental flow of Battlefield by making the map design revolve around close range fights.
Combine this with SMGs being overpowered and classes/squad play feeling redundant and it just feels like COD with a battlefield shell around it.
I think there is a good foundation but I dont really trust the devs to find the ceiling of what it could be.
They really need to take inspiration from games like Arma, Squad and Hell Let Loose and lean into realism more.

Yeah. I get all my fun from killing people and not dying. Rocking a 3.5kd not including bots, 22% objective and 3000+ revives. I look at what cosmetics I've unlocked about once per season. Hearing all this moaning makes me laugh. Feel sorry for those guys.

Looks like the rumors of Propaganda being remade as a S2 map were true based on recent leaks. Unfortunately another small CQC focused map is not what the game needs right now, and knowing DICE it will probably be shrunk compared to the original much like Firestorm was.

Assuming they don't wait any longer after the 17th to give us a map, that will be 3 MONTHS since Eastwood.

Meanwhile Black Ops 7 (which came out a month later) has had 8 multiplayer maps, a zombies map and 2 major events.

Season 2 delayed until February 17th.

I'll say it again, what the fuck are they doing. Since Redsec launched it has been nothing but incompetence.
I mean, the creator of the game just died, I'm sure they have to work around that and also factor community feedback into changes that are being made for the new season.

If the quality is solid like BF6 is, i'm fine with the delay.

and COD also sold less units. That rush, pump out throw up content has consequences. I'll take the quality.
