Yes, I've never used face scan or fingerprint.Times like this when people think they're the main character.
Do you also still unlock your phone with a passcode?

do not think Steam is immune to this as well.Never really cared for the layout of discord. Hopefully someone makes a new chat program that is less lame and corporate. I just use Steam chat on the rare occasion that I want to talk to someone I'm playing with.
Can't wait to see how people clown the facial detection with this.![]()
Discord Launches Teen-by-Default Settings Globally
Discord is announcing enhanced teen safety features rolling out globally that reinforce its long-standing commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive experience for users over the age of 13.discord.com
Or else you'll be stuck in Teen mode, whatever that means. Fun times!

The UK/EU are going after the publicly traded companies first.
Soon enough Steam will be in their sites and these governments can do all sorts of stuff to Steam as a private entity to make doing business in teh UK/EU difficult.
Steam is already implicated in the law, they choose to use age verification through credit carddo not think Steam is immune to this as well.

Seems like there is more than a few that don't like it. I'm thankful I'm in a position that I don't have to use discord.Am I one of the few that can't stand having to use Discord?
Wait a second, Illinois is baseed? We don't have these backwater laws here in Illinois and nothing like that is on the table or being proposed here so this should be an illegal invasion of privacy here.
Remember this?

ID photos of 70,000 users may have been leaked, Discord says
The platform says hackers targeted a firm that helped to verify the ages of its users.www.bbc.com
I'm not giving anything the moment they ask for this I'm dropping the platform.
Thats what I dont understand. Everyone is getting hacked and robbed off all their data's...really everyone! And somehow these global "elite" clowns think its the best idea to force everyone to give even more data out....creating even bigger honeypots. Its all so weird!
If you haven't been assuming everything you type and say on Discord is being government monitored already well first you better delete your whole current Discord account and second you better start assuming you're always on your best behavior if you start your new account

Me neither. But ID or face scans are usually a big red flag to me.Honestly, I don't know the solution to the problem.
Yes and if that comes to Sweden, I'll probably loose my account, since I don't have or will ever have a "credit card".Steam is already implicated in the law, they choose to use age verification through credit card

Steam Support :: Age Assurance under the UK Online Safety Act
help.steampowered.com
Not just thieves, but law enforcement as well. In the US at least, they cannot legally compel you to provide the PIN code to unlock a phone, but they CAN compel you to submit for a fingerprint or face scan. Pair this with a method to wipe the phone's encryption keys when entering an "emergency wipe" PIN. Just be ready to face charges like evidence tampering, obstructing justice or failure to comply.Passcode is the best method against thieves.
A lot of US states are also introducing these regulations.Loool!
I'm pretty sure this is in response to:
- UK (anti-porn) Digital Safety Act (holds platforms legally responsible for the content their users share, regardless of what their T&Cs say. Also stricter controls around restricted content shared with or to kids on platforms + websites)
- Aussie ban on social media
- Spain ban on social media
- Many EU countries considering doing the same
Etc
Discord, twitch etc have all cut their cloth selling services to kids and making a mint. They're also all saturated with smut in the dark recesses of their sites.
They're all trying not to get caught with their pants down now.
Fucking X's offices in France got raided recently due to allegations that the site was facilitating the production and propagation of child pornography.
So yeah, expect the world to start to clamp down more on these social media companies who have enjoyed their free lunch for a very long time.
So long. Switching to Telegram.
Thats how social media networks work. When it launches and ramps up, the rules are loose, they turn a blind eye and their priorities are building up a mass of users.I remember when Discord launched it prided itself on "freedom," etc..
Then the globalist cabal latched itself onto another host.
We have been labeled as the 2nd liberal capital of the US (right behind California) so the governor and Co are too busy dealing with their constant clash with the current administration.Wait a second, Illinois is baseed?
Yeah, it really is hideous right now, the person who brought that up should be hanged honestly. You will hand over all your private info and you will be happy.
"Private" Discord? Is this shit for private servers?

Good, i hope it implodes whit this
was gettin tired of "You want to find somethin extra? Join our Discord tee hee" bullcrap.
so devil's advocate... what if i just use the teen features to avoid this shit
what am i missing out on?
NOTHING you do on Discord is private. Assume everything you say and do is as publicly visible as a Twitter post, or a NeoGAF post
