It really runs like shit. Everything maxed out and in town, I get 60-90 fps.
And there are some stutters, while running around. Probably due to asset streaming.

Specs?
Same here. And I played it for the first time not too long ago (barely a couple of months before the sequel came out, specifically).Strange, it runs perfectly fine on my 3080Ti.
It was heavily rumored last year that a next‑gen release would arrive sooner rather than later. I even went and bought a cheap physical copy of the Royal Edition back in August in preparation for the inevitable announcement.Had i known this last October i definitely would've waited but alas. I finished it early January. Ah well.
Did you set everything to ultra? " What fps are you getting and what's your CPU?Strange, it runs perfectly fine on my 3080Ti.
The day 60-90 fps is shit is when you've lost the fucking plot.It really runs like shit. Everything maxed out and in town, I get 60-90 fps.

The problem with the PC version are the frametimes, not the framerate. While 60+ should be smooth, the game is anything but.The day 60-90 fps is shit is when you've lost the fucking plot.

No, a racing wheel is required. Can you play this with a controller?
Should patch the lock picking on console.
That shit is almost impossible.
Thanks. The frame rate seems very stable and eyeballing it, I would say it's 60. Might have been a minor dip here and there, but not sure if it's just NPCs animation rate being lower at a distance or frame drops. Otherwise, this seems to be around 60fps.
I wonder if it's one of the situations where the engine just doesn't scale past a certain point or if they simply just updated the code for the consoles, because they sure as shit didn't for PC.
Same here.I should redownload this and give it another shot. I'm astoundingly terrible at the combat though and it frustrated me, but everything else is just right up my alley.
Yeah, I heard it gets easier, but it's definitely much harder with analogue sticks than mouse and keyboard. It's impossible because your Henry is shit at it. Practice.

Me three!Same here.
Reinstalling on XSX.
This time I'll just be patient & practice combat more.
Really? No. It's actually harder with mouse and keyboard. To the point that the devs added a second mode for M+K that makes is easier, like on a controller. It just takes practice and the right perks (the one that makes it easier to open locks when you're drunk is GOAT tier).

Really?
I'll have to give it another go.
I love lock picking in games.
Thief 3 on OG Xbox was sensational with the rumble, nigh on perfect.
This is a game that needs to be played before taking on the 2nd one.the allure of KCD 2 has me keen to try the first again.
Practice with Bernard with weapon of your choice to level 3, learn master strike and you'll be good. Don't ignore maces, they are GOATed opponents with plate armor.
Monastery will forever be my favorite place to rob, lol.
Yeah, you have low level api on consoles vs. terrible DX11. Same story with AC Odyssey, console versions have much better performance vs. 3600 and better CPUs on PC.
Ummm. No. The "simplified lockpicking" that was added in a patch is only for controllers. It makes it not necessary to handle both sticks at the same time. The default lockpicking is much harder on controller than on mouse. In fact when I played KCD I distinctly remember using mouse for first few levels because it was easier. Only after I leveled up Henry did it became easy enough on controller.No. It's actually harder with mouse and keyboard. yesDoes the 60fps work with the edition that has just released on Gamepass? If so, I'm in!
If you enable the 60hz vsync option in the menu, the game has rock stable frametime at 60. Just tested it in Rattay - it felt perfectly smooth. Higher than that I don't really know since I play on 60hz TV and need vsync. The problem with the PC version are the frametimes, not the framerate. While 60+ should be smooth, the game is anything but.
I don't know how it is in the latest patch (I doubt they touched it) but previously I always put shadows and lighting on very high since ultra was busted. Rest of the settings on ultra, 2880x1620, SMAA2X, I get stable 60 with vsync on my 5800X3D/3080Ti. But when I played it in 2019 on 2700X, it also ran at 60 most of the time.Did you set everything to ultra? " What fps are you getting and what's your CPU?
When do you unlock practicing? I assume after you do the escape part at the very beginning?
The "simplified lockpicking" that was added in a patch is only for controllers.
Well, you can practice even in Skalitz by trying to unlock as many chests as you can. You can get lockpicks from one of your mates. But after you're in the open world you can practice on a chest in the mill and of course there are hundreds of chests everywhere to rob from.
Meant for combat lol. Will need to figure out locpicking too lol
Just follow the main quest - you will be told to train with Cpt. Bernard during it. Then you can go back to him to learn more skills (and the OP masterstrike, which frankly I wish was not even in the game).Meant for combat lol. Will need to figure out locpicking too lol
I tried using DXVK. In the same scene I posted I got 76 fps. Instead of 73.
But there were a lot more stutters.
No worriesI stand corrected then, my memory if failing me. It's been ages since I played it on a controller.Dr. Suchong sorry for causing confusion!
That's not true - consoles are locked to 60fps and if you lock KCD on PC to 60, you can get perfectly smooth gameplay.Game should get native port to Vulcan/DX12. Right now PC players have the worst performing version.
Yups ofc, it was made for ps4/xbone too after all, alongside pc.Can you play this with a controller?
Although historians commended the game for aiming for historical accuracy, some commentators have criticised the developers' portrayal of 15th-century Central Europe, while scholars criticised the simplistic portrayal of Cumans and Hungarians as cruel invaders. The developers responded by saying that the game was historically accurate and that people of colour did not inhabit early 15th-century Bohemia in significant numbers.
Some publications have criticised the views held by the game's director Daniel Vávra, who supported GamerGate. Eurogamer criticised Vávra for wearing a shirt from the band Burzum while promoting the game at Gamescom in 2017. Vávra and Martin Klíma responded to the accusations in an interview, stating that Vávra might be a little "quick with words", apologising for anyone who felt offended.
Klára Hübnerová, a history professor at Masaryk University, gave a lecture on the historical accuracy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance in late 2018. She criticised the game for inaccurately portraying the gender roles of the time and that the villainous depiction of Cumans was based on modern stereotypes, not historical sources. She also argued that the game distorted history through the lens of national myth, which cast historical figures as characters in the mythic origin of the Czech nation, resulting in the oafish portrayal of Wenceslaus IV and the cruel Sigismund.Joanna Nowak, the historical consultant for Warhorse Studios, also gave a presentation in the same lecture series in which she disclosed that the studio's goal was to make a "historically credible" game, but compromises and manipulations needed to be made to make the game fun. She downplayed the game's commitment to historical accuracy, stating "It's a game, it's not an open-air museum, it's not a medieval simulator!" Vávra posted a 2.5-hour video response to Hübnerová's lecture on YouTube in 2020, in which he criticised the methods of contemporary historians like Hübnerová.
If you have faster PC than PS5, you can still target higher resolution and possibly framerate, otherwise it doesn't really matter, both versions are basically at parity now. Regarding mods there are some that people use (like save anywhere without savior schnapps, no third person herb picking animations etc) but personally I only play KCD vanilla anyway. What is the best version? I was thinking PC since that was the original target platform, and probably still has the best performance/mods. But PS5 Pro is also an option. If it doesn't matter, I guess whatever's cheaper would work.
I don't really have time for it, but at some point I'd like to play it. What is the best version?
