Kingdom Come Deliverance - PS5/Series Upgrade Announced - Free for Owners - PC Ultra Settings + 60FPS

Did they fix the NPCs and objects popping in the PC version? Even at ultra settings you could sometimes see NPCs spawn very close to you. And some objects like pottery or random things on shelves would also pop very close compared to all other objects.

If you have a PC, go with PC. Get at least these mods:

They make the game look so much nicer than vanilla.

Here's my mod list:

NoEnemyDogs is a god send, i only use this and save anywhere, everything else i let as dev intended.

I don't like to alter the gameplay too much. My current Henry has 40k+ gold and fully upgraded Pribyslavitz, so money and by extend buying Saviour Schnapps is trivial... and dogs? Well, I have a dog too, so the odds are even, heh.

BTW, I just installed this UI overhaul, I think it looks amazing.

  • Upscaling the final image to 3840x2160
  • Increased native resolution the game renders at to 2560x1440

  • Developers' note:
  • The infinite loading during the Siege quest that would permanently brick save games could very rarely occur when doing the "From the Ashes" DLC questline beforehand. • Fixed issue where compass markers would not display after changing language in-game
  • Fixed issue where the map cursor would not scale with in-game resolution
Other

  • Fixed issue where the "Quilted Vest" made Henry's arms transparent

Very good comparison. Man the lastgen version was downgraded so much from PC it's crazy. GI, textures, resolution, loading times, all terrible. Finally, the console players can experience the PC version :)

This is crazy. IMO this is among if not the biggest ps4 to ps5 upgrade ever, and it is free. Seriously impressed.

Thanks. The frame rate seems very stable and eyeballing it, I would say it's 60. Might have been a minor dip here and there, but not sure if it's just NPCs animation rate being lower at a distance or frame drops. Otherwise, this seems to be around 60fps.

I wonder if it's one of the situations where the engine just doesn't scale past a certain point or if they simply just updated the code for the consoles, because they sure as shit didn't for PC.
They are reducing framerate in foliage and characters at certain distance.

Tried watching a couple of videos to get back into the game but almost all of them are filled with exploits and "cheats".

I'll just go in blind and unsullied 😊

No, a racing wheel is required.
Tom Cruise Smile GIF

Yups ofc, it was made for ps4/xbone too after all, alongside pc.

And dont be deceived by relatively low scores(even for pc version),woke journos deducted points in their reviews for game being based(no black characters in medieval bohemia, no women wearing fullplate armor beating men in strenght, normal traditional gender roles and such).

Game is at the very least solid 8/10 from objective pov, and if u like western rpg genre(skyrim, witcher, older dragonage games, not that artrocity veilguard became) u can safely assume 9/10 at the very least.
Game was deemed "controversial" for not surrendering to woke mob.
76 meta for best scored pc version while 8,1/10 from users.

TLDR: Dev studio and its leader went tru hell and back with various forces trying to make game cancelled/irrelevant/perceived as bad/racist/mysoginist etc.
Sounds awesome. Installing.

I bought the royal edition on PSN when it was dirty cheap last year. I've been witholding from playing it ever since; waiting for this upgrade.

The game looks fine. Clearly a last gen game, but pretty and very immersive nonetheless.

The only rough spots I've found so far are the lack of HDR and the prerendered cutscenes. They don't look great on a 55" screen and are capped at 30 FPS. The game starts with a prerendered cutscene, so it was a worrying first impression.

I've never played a game like this before. But so far so good, even though I'm just getting started. I hope I get to really enjoy this game.

Sounds like a great update. I randomly picked up the Royal Edition on a PSN sale a while back because it came with all DLC and was only around 4 dollars. Still have yet to play it, but I'll gladly take the PS5 version for free.

This is why I don't and won't ever bother with consoles anymore for anything 3rd party. Also waiting on the benevolence of devs patching the game when the consoles are stronger gen to gen is stupid.

So many games will be stuck in 1080p/30fps hell even on PS7.

Same here.
Reinstalling on XSX.

This time I'll just be patient & practice combat more.
Yeah, I heard it gets easier, but it's definitely much harder with analogue sticks than mouse and keyboard.
I thought this at first too, but just do all the practice options with Bernard i think he's called? It's in Skalitz. Once combat clicks it's great. Same with lockpicking. I did choose to simplify lockpicking though.

My pc can easily play this at 60 locked on ultra settings at 1440p. If they can add in FSR to the console version then you'd think they could patch in FSR or DLSS to the PC version at least. It'd help a lot. Also annoyed that the latest patch has broken the luma HDR mod I was using.

It's sad to see they still haven't fixed the performance issues this game has, especially in villages, where GPU usage just tanks. Even with the command-line tweaks the community shared, it doesn't fully solve the problem. And of course, this update will probably break some of my mods.

Also annoyed that the latest patch has broken the luma HDR mod I was using.

Is there a mod to add HDR in KCD? I was using RTX HDR.

After the incredible success of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, the first game in the series has received a next gen update (or current gen update? I don't know anymore). In any case, Henry is going back to his roots, and if you've never played the original, we've got you covered. Here are 9 Things to Do First in Kingdom Come Deliverance 1, now on current gen consoles.

Timecodes:
0:00 - Intro
0:41 - Get Free Lockpicks
2:05 - Talk To Everyone
3:18 - Get Free Armor
3:54 - Get Used To Stealing Things
4:44 - Learn How To Pickpocket
5:33 - Go See Bernard For Training
6:11 - Learn To Read
7:05 - Learn To Brew Potions
7:48 - Stockpile Dried Food Before Long Journeys
8:39 Outro

What does the Series S run now? Would be interested. Since mine is in the other house i wont be there for a while. So anyone can test it?

Give the game time. I almost dropped this game after the intro. Get a bit further than that to really understand what the game is doing. Your basically a detective in medieval times it's really good.

Medi evil detective. Haha, that sounds awesome.

I'm so in!

series s running this at more stable 60 fps than a high end pc is wild to say the least. they really did put in some work.

cpu killer

That's what I was saying, DX11 is completely inefficient in this game. You can have pretty high average FR but 1% lows are terrible.

So buying PS4 version now will get you free PS5 update?

Edit:

Probably:

Yeah you can buy the ps4 royal version and upgrade it to the ps5 version for free.

Why all versions are not priced the same? Many people won't know this...

You answered your own question.

BTW, 1.9.7 patch is out of Steam. Patch notes:

Features

● Deep Silver Account integration
○ Signing up to Deep Silver Account will grant players a horse caparison. The item will be added to the player stash once the prologue has been completed.

Stability

● Fixed infinite loading screen when sleeping on a specific bench during the Run! Quest

Developers' note: The infinite loading during the Siege quest that would permanently brick save games could very rarely occur when doing the "From the Ashes" DLC questline beforehand. During the Trebuchet cinematic, the game would wait for Sir Divish to finish scheduled behaviour from that DLC, but would never finalize because it was no longer a valid behaviour.
● Fixed very rare deadlock in the physics synchronization
● Fixed issue where the title would freeze when changing the language from main menu
● Fixed crash when simultaneously using gather feature together with skip time feature
● Fixed multiple crashes during Baptism of Fire
● Fixed multiple crashes related to the vegetation system
● Fixed multiple crashes related to invalid models or areas
● Fixed multiple crashes and long freezes during language change operations
● Fixed multiple race condition crashes.

Gameplay

● Fixed issue where the achievements "Casanova" and "Full house sinner" would not unlock under certain conditions

Probably one step below ultra. Highest settings are labeled as experimental in both KCD games.

There's also this:

  • CryEngine heavily modified with many improvements and optimizations tailored for the PS5 and Xbox Series hardware
  • Improved and optimized multithreading to better utilize all available cores

Will be interesting to see what the inevitable in-depth comparisons to the PC version of the game bring to light.

It would have been nice for them to also update the PC version of the game (don't know why they haven't) considering this patch on console also introduces a bunch of bug fixes that never got addressed in the PC version.

There's no way this game can run at 1440p with 60 fps on the PS5 with the settings set to ultra.

1080p
1440p
2160p

Yes and it is. As i said comparing pcs to consoles is stupid. esoecially when warhorse worked on it. probybly learned a lot from Kcd 2 and they implemrnted that now.

by the fnd of the ps5 gen it will comfortably beat an ancient 2080ti with no dedicated game support so to speak. Every gen the same. ps4 was the same. yet people always act surprised...

2080ti will beat PS5 in vast majority of games, nothing changed since 2018/2020. PS5 is on the level of 2070S/2080 and when not vram limited, those GPUs represent that base console performance level.

3070 even beats PS5 Pro in AW2 and 3070=2080ti when not vram limited (3070 is better in Path Tracing...).

KCD1 was just unoptimized mess since launch (running like 40fps on 2018 CPUs?). CryEngine was notorious for piss poor multi-threading. I'm not sure if it was Crytek with Hunt game of Warhorse itself - someone fixed the engine and KCD2 performs much better on the same hardware (while looking better). Same is true for this native PS5 console version, it uses optimized code (so far) not available in PC version.

These guys dont play games, they play hardware. miserable existance as a gamer. some grow out of it.
