What do you think, GAF? Is it good enough or does it need more Ape Escape?

Because of how much I've been enjoying Arc Raiders I'm keeping a close eye on Marathon (but not expecting much based on what I've seen thus far).

Other than that I'm 100% in for Saros. Personally I've not enjoyed Insomniac's format (open world + batman arkham combat) with the spider man games so unless there's a huge departure from that, I won't be wasting my time with Wolverine.

- Marvel Tokon continues to be extremely pleasant to see (i dont a give for fighting games, but that visual is extremely pleasant).
- Kena 2 Eletric Bogaloo broke every bet, nobody expected it.
- Saros looks like everything Returnal could be and it's not (permanent progression ? Count me in!)

10 years since Destiny 2 and we'll get Marathon in april instead of Destiny 3..
But the rest looks like a fine line up. A huge AAA title (wolverine), a few AA games (GoW, Kena and Saros) rounded off by two "sports games".

GTA VI in autumn will do much more for the PS5 than two exclusive triple a games.
It does make sense to bring only one big title in autumn.
And because of MS desperated move to bring Halo, Fable, Gears and FH6 to PS5 too is it not necessary to bring more.

I doubt Bungie can afford to make a good Destiny 3 right now. Which is why they need Marathon to hit. Give them some breathing room to make their next forever game. Because there's not going to be a Destiny 4.

Why put new kena when its made by ember lab studios, its not sony first/2nd party, no? Its announced for both ps5 and pc steam.
About rest of the games:

Not japanese nor american so dont care about mlb

Marathon is gaas multiplayer extraction shooter so again dont care

Saros could be really good, basically it looks/feels like its sequel to returnal just this time we play as manly masculine guy in his 40s instead of a granny(so huge plus).

Marvel tokon looks pure fire, cant say 10/10 goty but hoping its at least solid 9/10 here :messenger_smiling_hearts:

Wolverine could be either GOTY or something totally mid depending if game is based/only has token wokeness or follows footsteps of spiderman2 :messenger_astonished: Need more info/gameplay trailers to judge.

The games being put out by Sony are less and less for me and more for a different generation. I'm sure millions will love these.

I wish I could get excited for these (except Saros), but indies have my attention way more nowadays.

If by saying "Sony Interactive Entertainment" you're referring to their 1st party output, I'm afraid Kena and Marvel Tokon aren't 1st party. Kena's studio is independent and Marvel is Arc System Works.

It's basically just Saros, Marathon, and Wolverine. The GoW 2D flash game and MLB are fodder.

The narrative surrounding Kena is funny.

If the discussion is about Sony porting games to PC: Kena is NOT a Sony title.

If the discussion is about Sony's output: Kena IS a Sony title.

They are as much Sony games as Bloodborne was.

I like the look of Saros but it's Wolverine I am looking forward to the most.

They lack something this generation for me tho, the must have games that really impresses and the momentum of releases along with it.

Don't get me wrong they still offer some quality titles but there isn't anything like what the Uncharted series and The Last of Us did for PS3 or what Horizon, Spider-Man and Ghosts did for PS4.

I would love to know what went on with the whole strategy shift with single player/live service games and what it has really cost them.

It actually ended up not costing them anything. Microsoft fumbled the bag so horrifically with the Xbox One generation that they basically giftwrapped Sony this gen on the 1 yard line. Sony could stop all their 1st party output for the rest of this gen and it wouldn't matter. They're very fortunate this didn't happen in an earlier generation, before people had built up their digital libraries.

No competition, no innovation, no quality, not even quantity. Sony fucking sucks.

Demon Souls Remake was the only nextgen looking game, since then they released either slop or crossgen.

Sony doesn't own most of those studios.

Like clockwork. :messenger_grinning_sweat:
This is the reason I didn't put 'first-party' (because you people will never admit that), and instead I simply said Sony Interactive Entertainment games, because they are for a fact (unless you're willing to argue that, say, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is not a Nintendo game just because it's not developed by their studios. Good luck with that).

It's a PlayStation Studios game, look at the beginning of the stream:

Needs more Knack.
This, but unironically.

Exactly, they're money hats, funded exclusives. If that weren't the case and Bloodborne was first party, a "Sony game", we'd already have a sequel by now, probably two.
That's not pretty sound logic.

Volume seems somewhat low.
I don't think there is any major publisher with a larger quantity of games slated for 2026 right now, but also we don't know if this is the full lineup. The strongly rumored Until Dawn 2 and Exiledge are both suspects for this year as well.

The narrative surrounding Kena is funny.

Not me. It's a single-player Sony title releasing day one on PC, just like Until Dawn 2024, LEGO Horizon Adventures, and Lost Soul Aside were as well.

I'm in for pretty much all of them except MLB. Saros will likely be my GotY, as was Returnal. Wolverine and Kena 2 are going to be great, and I'm hoping Marathon clicks with me. I will probably get my ass handed to me in Marvel Tokon, but that won't stop me from trying.

Couldnt disagree more. Rift Apart looked more next gen than 95% of the games today. Astrobot isn't slop or crossgen either. HFW and GT7 look phenomenal too despite having a gimped PS4 version. You all just love to miserably complain.

So you think GTA6 is 100% delayed or do you think Saros actually has a chance? No way it wins GOTY if GTA6 releases.
Edit: oh I missed the 'my' somehow. my mistake.

As someone who's been with PS since the beginning the main thing I ask myself is " Where are the RPGS?! ". , like yooo 3 of 5 of the last GotY games have been RPGs . You have games like BG3, E33 and ER selling a fuck ton and Sony ain't chasing that type of audience , it's a weird time when I look at MS for games now more then Sony
