Xbox Series X / ROG Ally Combo

It seems like a great way to game these days via affordability is via Xbox/Xbox handheld for clearing out games via game pass either on the go or on the couch.

Does anyone go that route? I feel like the Steam Deck OLED is a great device but I also feel like sticking with a Xbox or PC and a PC handheld like that is the way to go for consolidation of ecosystem.

When I was on PC the steamdeck and my gaming PC was very similar. Issue for me though was I just don't have a lot of opportunities to game outside of my house. When I'm at home I have a dedicated space to play games so I don't need my steamdeck. The few times I do have to play outside of my house (during my lunch) just seemed like to much. Like how much gaming do I really need to be doing? Every now and then when I'm in the middle of a big game was fine but just doing it consistently felt like to much gaming to me.

How does that even run? Is that simple to do?
Yeah I found a walkthrough...it was really easy...I did it one or two years ago so I don't remember everything but my dual boot system is called something like clover...I'm not sure about the name...I can even dual boot with an os installed on a micro SD card..I installed a tiny 11 too to keep the bloat away and gain some perfs...it even has the standby and resume game...pretty good

Woah, I need to look into this. Do I need to install the windows software on my steam deck on a micro-SD card or something? I am guessing it's a must right?

That doesn't matter… All the bases needs to be covered, if video games is your favorite hobby.
Well, since we're at it, please also include the 3DS, PSP, Vita, NGP, Virtual Boy, PC Engine and all the other systems that have exclusive games that were never ported. You can't have every system and with a PC you cover the most, followed by the Switch which is actually optional, since theoretically everything is available on PC.

This is about to play upcoming games… PS5/PC/Switch2 is an unbeatable combo in that aspect .With the Ally the Series X is not needed, Base PS5/Switch 2/AllyX is a better combo by far.

Sorry I don't remember...but I remember it was really easy...just be careful to check a recent walkthrough and follow the steps as indicated and it should go smoothly...

I wouldn't recommend a PC handheld to anyone unless it is your only gaming device, if so go crazy.

You hve the Lenovo 2 right? what is going on?
Nothing, I adore my Go 2, but let's not beat around the bush - I spent 1100€ on a device because it is the only way I can game nowadays. I also got 400€ from selling my SteamDeck OLED, so for my niche use it was a great solution.

PS5 still have exclusives…
And Xbox, and PC, and Switch.

I've accepted that there is some collateral damage and that a PC is enough. Gives me access to 90% of Sony's new games, many old ones through emulation, 100% of Xbox new games, many old ones through emulation, most of Nintendo's games through emulation, and everything on Steam and GOG and Epic's free games and Gamepass.

Haven't jumped in on handheld Windows gaming yet though. I had the ROG Xbox Ally X for a couple days but returned it. I use Steam Deck for bedtime Elden Ring but not much else at the moment.
