Marathon |OT| A Shell of its Former Self.

Based on the server slam, my "mains" will likely be Destroyer, Triage, and Vandal, in that order. What's everyone else's? I'll get to them all eventually though.
Triage, Vandal or Assassin depending on what im doing.

Thief depending on how useful that drone is.

Just because we don't have big chiseled men and/or busty voluptuous women? I mean, how would that be fitting in this world and universe? Lol.
No, because all characters having ugly and androginized cringe inducing faces and bodies made like that on purpose, designed on purpose to don't be appealing to white heterosexual males, like the rest of the recent woke games.

I'm talking about bossy and manly females with male face structure traits, male shoulder to shoulder distance, flat chested, male waist and hips. Plus males with lips painted, female face and body structure traits, female/gay poses. Plus to make color palelte with the colors of the trans flag and another with the colors of the bisexual flag.

I'm tired of that and want appealing, attractive, cool and charismatic characters instead. Which yes, means manly chad males and hot women with boobs, which is what everybody prefers and are the archetypes typically most popular in all games. And are key for games whose monetization depend on liking characters. And obviously attractive and cool characters fit perfectly in this or any other universe.

I hope unlocking cryo archives leans more towards unlocking Destiny's secret Exotic weapons rather than Arc's Stella Montis.

The runner designs are awesome.

I think the Triage will be very strong early in the season as healing items are very scarce.

Assassin was fun to play with the stealth camo.

Once I know the maps better I'll probably go with Destroyer, the shield allows him to reposition and flank without getting hit.

still undecided. i really enjoyed the art style and gunplay and abilities, but i really dont like the idea of getting a great kit/weapon then just losing it. i would have constant anxiety and just extract instantly

Healing consumables are plentiful once you realise you have to farm the barter items in game from certain locations to swap at the factions instead of paying the fucking ludicrous prices. But yeah triage is almost essential on a team either way.

I didn't enjoy my time with the server slam. Same gunplay you expect from Bungie, but was an otherwise forgettable session. To those in on it and it clicked with, enjoy.

You just need to adjust your mindset from regular games. They way the faction upgrades and mod economy works your never too far from anything you can lose, early game/mid game at least.

Almost think of it as almost like a FPS Roguelite. It's your turn with the gear until its not but you'll be raising the floor each run.

The ammo/consumable purchases are a trap. Using the barter items, I wasn't having much trouble keeping myself supplied.

I could see Triage becoming less necessary for really experienced teams who want to go all-in on mobility shells.

Also all gameplay content is going to be free is now confirmed. Their wording was pretty weird a few months back and many people assumed they will charge for some of this after the first year, but looks like they wont
Arc I imagine shifted that a lot because arc gives a lot away for free even their paid currency.

For me I'll gladly pay for battle pass or skins.

"Designed on purpose to don't be appealing to white heterosexual males?" What? Lmao.

To each their own, I just feel like this is just an example of, "if you're looking for it, you'll find it." I never once thought that, especially in this universe. At least the majority I feel share the same sentiment.

I hate woke as much as the next guy but c'mon dude...

Yeah, I couldn't agree more.

They are unorthodox designs for sure but I have warmed up to 'em. I hate the (woke) trends we see in modern AAA gaming as much as the next guy but not every game needs to have women with their asses out. It would not fit this universe/setting.

I had such a love/hate relationship with the game as a solo player. Going to wait to see what, if any, changes they put in to help alleviate some of the frustrations that come with that playstyle before jumping in. Letting Rook be able to do quests would be a great first start. There's definitely something very interesting here with a lot of room to grow into a really amazing game.

It's still #3 in Steam top sellers. I remain convinced this game will find a steady audience.
Yeah, agreed. It was steadily climbing the Steam charts, even after the Slam. People wanted to see it fail, but there was enough writing on the wall to show that it will likely have legs of its own to sustain and carry on. Can't really gauge the level of it all, but for someone enjoying the game, that's enough for me!

Wasn't expecting this, cool video! :pie_bull:

A buddy of mine mentioned that loot gets 'better' the longer you're in a match? Is that true at all or is that just a myth he picked up somewhere?

I know that Hauler was a nice little hotspot for some 'easy' goop as far as weapons was concerned and what not. Fun place to fight as well.

Oh wow they got Poppy, perfect fit actually hah. She's been tearing it up lately. Not all of it is my jam but she's a solid artist.

Random question how many players could in totality meet up in a run? 3v3 tops or can there be multiple groups etc?
I don't remember the numbers Bungie gave, but my team wiped three other trios on Perimeter at least once that I recall.

They've hinted they may tweak the number of teams per run based on feedback.

From reddit
Each map has different sizes. The April build had the following:

Perimeter:

5 teams (15 players)

Dire Marsh:

6 teams (18 players)

Outpost (Not in April build but info from creators during April):

4 teams (12 players)

Of course these numbers could've been changed with all the testing.
Also people who play the Rook shell can join in late games (solo) so you really never know if there's more people on the map or not.

Oh no!! Colors in a Sci-Fi video game!!! The game looks fucking amazing in HDR when set up properly, take your insecurities elsewhere.

Map dependant.

6 teams on Perimeter, 5 on Dire Mash and 4 on Outpost. Unsure of the solo counts.

Then you have Rooks as well.

Be nice if it could vary by a team either way so you don't know if you've wiped the map or not.

(It's in the OP if you look at the map layouts)

Interesting to see that DBNO cinematic where the Triage shoots another player while knocked. We could be seeing that in the game at some point.

I really hope this game reviews well and is a success. Bungie needs a win.

The game looks rad and has a very unique art style. I'm just not personally into extraction shooters that are mostly PvP.

I'm loving the games aesthetics but I can't bring myself to buy another game this year that isn't called Crimson Desert or GTA 6.
I was hesitant with Crimson Desert coming up, but I said fuck it. This game has such cool design elements and aesthetics. The faction cutscenes, the UI, all of it combines into their weird sci-fi look and I love it. Then throw in the soundtrack and it's perfect.

I'm not going to pass up on just enjoying the vibes for a bit for just $40.
