If it's really CPU limited the framerate on PS5 shouldn't be very different than here.

But I wonder what kind of RT the base consoles will have at 60fps.
RT adds burden on the cpu too, if pr0 version with higher clocked cpu has big troubles keeping anywhere close to 60(and we gotta assume its at least partly cpu bottleneck coz 30 and 40fps modes dont experience such a severe drops) then 60fps ps5 version gonna be dipping like marathons players count :P

Going with performance mode with the VRR thing so I can get mostly 60 fps except this bug hill.

PSSR2 on launch? Hell yeah.

IMO this and RE9 really giving value to pro users at long last. Well and FF7 rebirth but that game sucks so who cares.
 
I'm pretty sure the game will be fine on the base consoles. Perhaps the resolution in the 60fps mode is a bit low at native 1080p with no upscaling, but the 40fps should be more than soild. 1280p to 4k with FSR3 is more than good enough. Low RT probably just means slightly less accuracy with GI and dropped reflections.

Certainly better than most, if not all UE5 games.
 
lol DF falling for it again. PS5 Pro? A console with barely a few million sales? Literally a 120 million people want to know how it runs on their machines. DF gets the codes early and decides to do a puff piece on the game instead. Typical.

Do they cover the base PS5 version performance?
It's going to look fine on base PS5, minus the resolution/frame rate expectations seen in the graphic profiles in PS5 Pro.

40fps is likely what I'll be going with. That is. If I buy it. 40fps is a true game changer, it's a fucking shame that still so few devs utilize this.

This looks spectacular on the Pro.

Was going to watch a little then nope out when it got too spoilery, but he just went balls out from the off and I couldn't dive at the space bar quick enough.

Suffice to say this looks like it's going to be incredible and I already know my pre-order was justified. Not been this hyped for something new for quite a while. Now I just need to find the time to play... where was this game 3 months ago when I was sat on my arse every day?!
 
A couple of things as I'm still watching the video but I think it looks impressive but I cannot watch it. I only really want to listen to it because I am tired of over-spoiling myself with some games that I'm anticipating and I purposely avoided pretty much everything other than that first burst a couple of weeks ago and that was pretty much a total of baby less than a minute of scarcely scattered videos. I'm sold enough on the game and would rather just experience and see the surprises for myself. But I'm all in for discussing the technicality of it and I'm really not even trying to look at some of the screenshots. I'm genuinely trying to be surprised about this.

Affected I think this is going to be one of those some of the parts type games. People can complain that certain elements or whatever it would be are not 1,000% like a game that had a 500 million budget. And I think as long as people keep that perspective I think this game will deliver pretty hard.

For that reason as well is the same reason that I'm not going to be as critical for them not having the pssr patch ready until day 1. Struggle I'm sure the game is well funded but not to the point of other titles and maybe they didn't have the inside track to implement it quick enough so I can't wait to see it with that implemented and just to see the continued wins that pssr2 seems to be providing at least with the results we saw with resident evil requiem

Looks like I will probably be waiting until 2027 to play this. It will be tough, because feeling FOMO sucks, but I want to play the best version of this and that includes the RT (especially at night).

I will be looking at you high end PC owners with envy...

After watching the vid properly just as expected 40fps balanced mode looks like best option, especially with pssr vol 2.0 coming at launch.

Game looks extremly beatiful, especially if we use logics and dont forget its still console and open world game, way above ghost of yotei, personally i would put it bit below witcher4 demo which is bit below undisputed champion aka gta6 (dont count first ps5 UE5 engine demo coz the most impressive part was cgi, and cant use the matrix demo coz it wasnt proper game, dont wanna compare it to crazy bitch 2 walking sim altho not gonna lie it was super impressive graphics wise :P ).

From flaws obviously if we watch it on big screen in 4k upsclose we can see pssr artifacts(DF did close up so any1 can see it even on small phone screen), but with upgraded pssr those artifacts will be way less prevalent/visible so 0 worries there, and 2nd flaw i spotted that most of us knew about already- is that weird pop up mid-distance, it doesnt happen often but when it does its defo visible and distracting, for the reason game looks so great most of the time :)

Most impressive stuff beside obvious looks/animation/details was npc behaviour, its hard to do and especially with big crowds in open world games it can eat tru cpu resources like 600lbs mobility scooter driver tru butter, yet here it really works so neatly, u can tell devteam put tons of work and poured all their souls into the game :messenger_smiling_hearts:

I'll be holding off waiting for the day one patch. Also I imagine the L.O.D and other niggles will be mostly ironed out with PSSR 2.0. I do fear for the base consoles though if I'm honest. I'm definitely Waiting until the game is out in the wild before I cross anyone's palm with silver.

But PS5 won't have the same RT. I am already surprised it has any RT at all at 60fps. I doubt it has any RT reflections there.

Probably some light version of RTGI. But Metro Exodus already did it a long time ago at 60fps.

Thats why myself and many other ppl cant wait for base ps5 vid, both visual quality and perfomance in all modes will provide us with tons of info, only then we will be able to draw some solid conclusions.
My guess here is- base ps5 version will still look and play solid enough, just compared to pr0 or highend pc it will be like that ugly sibling/cousin we all know of, kinda similar to actual goodlooking versions but not really, if u know what i mean :messenger_fistbump:

Their embargo is probably structured with different dates for different versions.

Hope they do a base consoles video pre-launch, but not holding my breath!
 
Started watching the video and right at the beginning they show stuff I didn't saw before, so I'll skip this one.

Reception here seems cool so I'm happy that the pronsole bros will be able to properly enjoy the game.

At some point, someone will have to explain to me why this shit is always swept under the rug by reviewers, journalists and most gamers. Instead of focusing on path tracing, focus on not having fucking NPCs popping right in front of you, it completely kills the immersion. This should be the number 1 priority.

What is the point of analizing the game now that it looks worse than the final version? Nobody with a pro and an internet connection is ever gonna play this version...

To see the differences between PSSR1 and PSSR2 for this game.
