Monitoring the situation in Iran

Genuine question, if this was any other country posting videos like this showing Americans/anyone else being destroyed, would it all still be LOL worthy? Or have expectations for the US Gov fallen that low that them posting war footage mixed with memes is just accepted as a US thing now?

Ya when the Palestinians posted videos of them raping and killing Jews on OCT 7 it wasn't funny. The surreal nature of the US posting Memes tied to war and destruction isn't lost on people. But it is directly tied to the events around the world that have shaped global communication. There has been a breakdown as to what is acceptable. The IRGC and Iran leadership getting obliterated isn't funny, but they had a chance to not have a hot war, but now they are dead.

My major fear in all of this is US troops in Iran. It looks like it is heading that way, but I don't want it. I am still tired from Iraq and Afghanistan.

There's no easy way to say this, but we have a special needs president so the standards are lower for now.

So the incidents that we have right now - several dead people after the initial launch. Then a couple of planes shot due to friendly fire. And now two friendly planes crashing into each other.

All of them could be probably avoided - especially the original attacks on the bases. Though it seems like self inflicted damage is more effective than the iranian attacks at this point.

It really comes off as straight up terrorism to attack civilian vessels that pose no threat to their country. It'd be a different story if they were military vessels from another nation, not ships owned by international corporations.
It's the one real card they have to play, so it's not surprising they are doing this. The real question remains: how long can they keep this up before the US and other global leaders lose patience.

Think they probably already have lost patience, but what more can be done? Because you think they'd already be doing it.

The Times of Israel has reported that the second aircraft involved was another KC-135. That outlet also says that the KC-135 in question was one that landed at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport earlier in the day after declaring an in-flight emergency. Online flight tracking data shows that tanker is a KC-135RT variant, one of a small subset of KC-135Rs that are themselves capable of being refueled in flight. This, in turn, allows them to make use of tanker support themselves to remain on station longer or to conduct longer-distance missions

I'm desperately trying to understand how this makes sense.

I want to see video of this.
Making our Military look incompetent is on the menu for propaganda.
The start of this operation saw some of our people shot down in Kuwait. They will use that and any other mishap or mistake and blow it up to create fictional bullshit or bad information.
Not everything is real, but not everything is fake either. Best to wait and even when we get video, we have to make sure that, too is legit. Fucking AI...

The tanker can itself be refuelled by another tanker, allowing it to stay in the air on mission for longer.
