This might not be the game for you... as far as I understood story is not the focus of the game, it is going to be a more of a sandbox, at least that's what I think
That's not necessarily a bad thing. I liked Kingdoms of Amalur, which was basically WoW in single player. I just hope the combat system isn't too challenging.

Crimson Desert early impressions from content creators:

• "Yes, the game is real. Yes, it's f*cking awesome"

• Combat feels fresh. Takes some practice but plays unlike any combat system they've seen before.

• The target audience is "content lovers" and those who love getting deeply immersed and exploring every nook and cranny

• Massive amount of content, this isn't a game you can finish in a few days

• Creators got to play around 6 hours with the preview embargo landing on March 4th

Sounds great! 🔥

Would love for that to be the case. In those kinds of games I usually have more fun doing my own thing rather than following the main story, with the exception of something like KCD where the story is just too damn good to ignore.

Depends on how one views the current media hype.

If you are expecting some GOAT - no it will fail to deliver

I believe we are looking at a very good 80s to low 90s type of game.

My guts telling me more than The Witcher IV, the next Witcher game in the series is all about femininity and heroism and I mean it in a positive way.
Finally we can expect good things about those topics and not something gay and boring which only appeals to weirdos like the people from the purple forum

Nope. At worst it will be a total disaster, at best a somewhat interesting but shallow open world RPG. I hope to be wrong of course.

The fact they are using their own tech is a positive for sure at least.

Just watched the DF preview video and it looks insane!

Maybe the game won't be a 10/10 game, but I guess it will be a very decent game overall and a pleasure to play.
I won't buy for several month anyway, so when I buy potential bugs should be fixed...

Imagine having in Crimson Desert seven of these

most people don't know what they're talking about, yet, still clueless.

Honestly I haven't oversaturated myself of medium as I've seen flips of the sky gliding and all this other stuff but just a couple of videos I've seen maybe 5 minutes and watching today's digital foundry PC preview kind of tip my over the top anticipation. I ended up getting it for $10 off with the PC pre-orders on places like Green Man gaming.

Ended up voting for will deliver mostly but no game is perfect. I have to say this tickles me just enough on the story and the gameplay front and it's doing a lot of cool stuff with the systems including magic and other stuff so consider me or at least on board and putting my money where my mouth is and I don't care a lot of games. Also if we ordered metal gear solid collection Volume 2 and have a ton of steam credit ready for upcoming future purchases

I hope for good performance on ps5 pro, a good story, well written quests and not too much ubi soft style open world busywork that artificially lengthens the game.

It's got a stylish minimalistic deluxe edition. For being one of many in the fantasy space, it doesn't look bad at all.

Not sure if it can beat Dragon's Dogma 2. And I say that as someone who thought that DD2 was disappointing in comparison to DD1.

I would be surprised if it's not way better than DD2. That game had amazing combat and a cool world to explore, but nothing else really.

Been watching some previews, game seems really good.

Just waiting to see how the performance will work for this on consoles. Game is massive.

From everything i have seen up until this point, Yes it will, deliver, but i am still not pre ordering and will still wait until it's out to make sure, at the moment i am buying the game though.

People will be really impressed about graphics and gameplay systems at first.

Days later, they will eventualy find out that the mission design/story is boring and repetitive.

I hope to be wrong, but the lack of anything about the game's story during marketing isnt good.

Well the CC preview I watched clearly said not to expect an epic story driven game like RDR2 or Witcher 3, because that's not even what the game is aiming to do.

Still, all the narrative moments seem really well done, from what he saw.

I think it will end up like BDO...looks flashy and nice, but the combat is too easy, the activities get repetitive quick and the story/characters are trash.

I think it'll be a game that has very high highs and very low lows and some inexcusable issues.

With that said, I also predict we try to get gaslit that it is peak gaming in 2026.

I'm pretty sure my friend in my Steam family is getting it, so I'll try it out for myself.

It will be janky darling like original Dragons Dogma was. It's not going to wow the Witcher 3 crowd and won't be game of the year, but it will find an audience that absolutely loves it.

I expect jank, floaty combat, a story written by someone who doesn't understand tone nor human emotion, and quests that are completely uninteresting to do.

A beautiful open world is a nice canvas for sure, but it's all about what you actually do in there.

Some ppl here are out of their mind saying GOTY contender. The game's trash story will make sure it isn't.
Not like latest Zeldas, Elden Ring or Oblivion's story is crazy and these were GOTY or contenders at least.

How good the exploration, combat, and world crafting (NPC's, life etc) is, that's what will matter in this case.

From what i've seen from a few guys who played it, i'd say it'll deliver for many that know what to expect, it won't for gaming press tho, i'd expect 80-85 max
