X Evolution was definitely okay, but it had some troubles (I really hate DORUmon).

Fuck yeah episodes 62-64 (Young Hunters 8-10) are out!

62: "Amazing Digimon Hunt! The expert Hunter of the shopping district." - they encounter a new Hunter, possibly the one with the Dobermon
63: "Taiki is targeted! The roar of the super-star celebrity!" - Akari and Taiki are in a date when someone is targeting the original Generals
64: "Landing in Hong Kong! Defend the super beautiful idol girl!" - Yuu and the others go to Hong Kong to meet up Nene

Bumping because I realized the key element in Digimon Xros Wars.

MUSIC.

Really, this season has amazing OST - they're used pretty much as cues too, and they fit well. But of course, we can't forget the amazing vocal songs. The OPs pretty much don't capture the theme of the series, but the inserts (which is the most plentiful Digimon series to date) are awesome.

WE ARE XROS HEART! - the go-to action song, pretty much hot-blooded and pumping! Also serves as Xros Heart's action theme. Sung by Digimon singer Kouji Wada.

Blazing Blue Flare - Blue Flare's action song which fits their dragon obsession, and it's sung by Hideaki Takatori (who did Hurricanger Sanjou!).

Let's Have Fun with Dondokomon! - this song didn't make an anime appearance (I guess it was slightly heard during Greatest Cutemon's attack) but it seems to be more of an Omake song. Think of Pokemon's taiko drum ending but only done better.

4XB THE GUARDIAN - theme whenever Beelzebumon or Shoutmon X4B is fighting. Really powerful and has a nice melody. Sung by Kouji Wada. WOOOOOAAAAH! CROSS FOUR BEEE THE GUARDIAAAN!

The Hero Who Dances in the Sky - X5! - theme whenever Shoutmon X5 is fighting. This one is a bit more of an uplifting song compared to X4B. It feels more of a fighting parade song too. Sung by Kouji Wada.

DARK KNIGHT - The King of Immortality - DarkKnightmon's theme... BEST VILLAIN SONG EVER IN THE DIGIMON FRANCHISE. It was played in the anime only twice... and they were played in his best scenes! Fits him too! Sung by Takayoshi Tanimoto, who sung Digimon Tamer's ONE VISION and the opening theme of Gekiranger.

Evolution & DigiXros! - ver. TAIKI - theme song when Shoutmon kicks Digimon ass after evolving into OmegaShoutmon. Really love it too, since it screams about vanquishing evil in the chorus. Sung by Kouji Wada.

Evolution & DigiXros! - ver. KIRIHA - theme song when MetalGreymon becomes ZeekGreymon for the first time. It's essentially just an orgasmic song about DRAGONS ARE TEH AWESOME!! Sung by Takayoshi Tanimoto.

WE ARE XROS HEART! ver. X7 - for me, this is the best song because it pretty much feels very climactic. It's full of energy! It doesn't remix the old song, but instead sings it again with a kingly feel, much like Genesic GaoGaiGar! The singers are a triumvirate of old Digimon singers - with Kouji Wada, Takayoshi Tanimoto and Ayumi Miyazaki (Digimon Adventure and 02's evolution theme song singer).

The sequel of Xros Wars already has two songs (TAGIRU POWER! and Blazing Dreamers) but the OST and single haven't been released yet.

That's what I like about Were - he's just slightly taller than an average human (same size with Leomon). And technically he was holding well until Vamde did some shit.

But yeah he's gimped. Needs more action.

Toei shows have that problem of under powering the hero so he can face people.

Well, there was that Angemon only works against virus but sucks against others.

And nah, Toei never has that problem at all.

Goku has lost fights, but that's not what I'm referring to. I'm referring to the power nerfing they give him in GT (which was an entirely Toei-exclusive production). He's faced the most powerful beings in the universe, yet will get trashed by opponents who really shouldn't be a problem. They nerfed him so much they decided to make him a kid in GT, only to make it a point he's just a kid in appearance, but not in power, which makes a tonne of contradictions in that series.

New episode!

Fuck yeah Shoutmon! He really did grow in power - since he just spammed Fire Soul which normally he can do one shots at once!

And next episode has a kid and his Dobermon!

I remember having the virtual pet of digimon and watching the cartoon consistently. Also wondering who is Angewomon 2nd form is. Also watching the Digimon: The Movie in theaters and buying the dvd right when it came out, and loved it.

Ryouma...seems normal. Or at least, the most normal of the three.
In the next episode, we see the other hunter.
But...
...did they just announced a 3DS game in the ending? O_O

God knows if I should be sharing this with anyone, but I recently did three tiny 5"x7" painting for a friend, based on famous paintings from art history.

Probably, but it seems Skullsatamon is pretty DAMN powerful to begin with. (i.e. one of those Digimon that are at least a level stronger than they should be)
Kinda funny since MagnaAngemon is normally pretty well matched vs most Digimon of the same level or higher.

Pagumon episode was hilarious - reminds me of Gremlins!

Bumping.

That's because his name is Gumdramon and combine it with Gundam you get Gumdam!

MagnaAngemon is a f**king boss, he was always my fav even though he wasn't on the old ones much. :( I guess that sorta made him cooler though.

Gogo Patamon!

Things I remember about Digimon.

- They had to find some Demonmon thing. And it showed up at 6 seconds past 6:06.

- On their way to fight the... thing, they catch a ride, but one of the Digimon takes a dump in the car, so they get kicked out. I think it was my favorite Digimon, too. So I like... lost Digimon street cred with my friends.

- The movie had a bitchin' soundtrack. And had an Angela Anaconda short in front of it.

VenomMyotismon/VenomVamdemon, the main villain for the third arc (also by far the longest arc) of Adventure. He turns into a kaiju, basically. It's a pretty cool two parter.

I watched his show when I was a kid. Only watched the first four of the series I think. They were all pretty decent.

I managed to get Digimon World DS for a reasonable price (still the most I've paid for a used game). Now to wait for it to arrive...

Did you get the first one, or Dawn/Dusk? Either way, they're great games.

The first one for now. I might get Dawn/Dusk once I finish it; they should be a lot easier to come by. Also, can't say no to the boss battle theme. For example, on Amazon Marketplace UK at the moment, Digimon World DS is £60, while Dawn/Dusk are £25. There's a (legit looking) cartridge-only copy of the first on eBay at the moment for $29; however, shipping costs would bring it to roughly the same price I paid for a boxed copy.

I was wondering aside from Digimon World 1, what are the best Digimon games available in recent years.

Digimon World DS/Dawn/Dusk are great; I played them briefly on my brother's DS a couple of years ago, and am looking forward to getting my own copy soon. Digimon World Championship I haven't really heard much about; I don't think it's a monster-collecting RPG in the vein of the other three, though.

Anyone know if the next three Digimon World games have any chance of being released in English? I'm doubtful, as Lost Evolution came out in July 2010 in Japan; DS/Dawn/Dusk had about half a year between Japanese and English releases. It's a shame, really :(

DW3 isn't awful, and does a good job with the turn-based style of RPG fights, but the lack of any quick-travel options hurts the game badly. Not to mention it's easy to forget your next objective. I've owned the game for years, and I STILL have no clue what I'm supposed to do next.

DO NOT touch DW4. It's easily one of the worst games I've played. It tried to hook people with the X-Men Legends style of gameplay (4P co-op, leveling and equips, etc.), but it failed miserably in the execution. I couldn't get rid of the game fast enough.

The DS games are fantastic. They have a system in place similar to Pokemon's EVs, but it's even less required and much easier than Pokemon. The battles look really simplistic with barely any animations, but it's not a huge deal. Digivolving is also different from the other games. Each Digimon has a level cap that can only be raised by digivolving up or down a level. DW4 tried this system, but the game botched it by having your stats reset to 1 each time. In the DS games your stats don't reset, but they rise/fall accordingly. You can eventually max out your stats by constantly digivolving, and by putting them into your "farms" (which is the equivalent of Pokemon's PCs) where they can do individual training and raise certain stats and elements. It's very, very in-depth and also surprisingly simple.

Digimon World Championship plays kinda like Pokemon Ranger, where you control everything with the stylus, but the battles themselves are random in the sense that you only control where your team moves. You have to hope that they use the moves you have assigned them. A friend of mine who loved World DS and Dawn/Dusk didn't like Championship at all.

I'd give a +1 to the DS games as well. DWC proved to be the most interesting mon-raising type game I've played, and the RPGs were good too. Although, I wonder if those newer ones are coming over... probably when Xros Wars is dubbed.

The new ones are PSP, and DS games. Xros Wars is coming out at the earliest in Fall 2012. Uhhh...

Not like either system is going anywhere anyways in 2012...if not UMD, then PSN, and DS because DS. It would depend somewhat on how the series is taken over here, anyway.

Even if it didn't, I think I'd live. In any case, they have a higher chance than
Medarot lol

Digimon World DS isn't bad, but Dawn/Dusk does almost everything better than it. Only notable stuff about the first game was the awesome boss music and the 7 Demon Lords Quest (which was pretty awesome).

Lost Evolution is similar to Dawn/Dusk in how most things work, only you unlock Digimon Evolutions via Plates you find. You then have to clean the plates up to unlock the Digimon. Kinda annoying since you have to do it near-perfect if you want all their attacks, and some of the higher-level plates come in multiple parts and are a pain to clean.

LE isn't a bad game, but the post-game super enemies (you find via Trapped Chests) are extra annoying since they have a TON of health, and the damage cap is stuck at 9999. Thus, they take FOREVER to kill just to get some super cool piece of equipment. Somebody's working on a fan translation I believe.

Hadn't played Xros Wars, but I've read it changes up a lot of stuff from the previous DS games.

Didn't care for DWC, since it's really more of a sim-like game.

Watching the subbed episode and researching on Hideaki's VA now made me get what Mpl90 meant. I love Yakitate Ja-Pan too!

The only Digimon animated things we didn't receive previously are some amusement park films, the Savers film, and X-Evolution. Toei Japan even commissioned a pilot dub of Xros Wars. We'll get it, it's just when.
