I'd say the top things for me from best to worst
1) USB Loading
I want to add how convenient it is when travelling. With Airlines' luggage restrictions tighter than ever, having your entire Wii collection on a little 1/2 Pound USB hard drive (if even that heavy) is a HUGE space/weight saver. and saved me from paying 50 dollars for a second bag/overweight
2) Various homebrew.
Mostly emulators (which I think are great if you want to play rom hacks, fan translations of Japanese titles also unlikely to be released officially, or the revered licensed titles that are EXTREMELY unlikely to ever be released on Wii VC like Sunsoft Batman or Capcom's Duck Tales) but there are a few useful apps out there. There's a straightforward Balance Board app that lets you use it like a scale. And Wii MC was great to play media files if ou don't have a PS3 or other media device.
3) Brawl Mods
If you still like playing Brawl, it's practically become like a PC FPS in terms of easy customizable mods.
