Oh come on, you have to end it like THAT!? So much blue balls :(

Pretty good season and a nice addition to the Fate mythos. This has the best servants out of all of them, though the mages could be better outside Ryuunosuke.

Rider should be the main servant of the Fate franchise instead of Saber. Would be SOOOOOOOO much better.

Not HD, at any rate. Filesize is 1.04 GB and the iTunes store page contains the note "also available in HD on iPad and Apple TV", and the trailer you can play seems to be 854x480, so probably that. Hardsubbed too, if you care about that sort of thing. If anyone has the aforementioned devices and feels like checking out the store to see what shows up there, go ahead.

Hmph, that's a shame. Only just placed the order for my stuff Wednesday so it won't arrive for a while. I remember reading reviews of the collection that mentioned it, but hey, for $15, I'll take it. I have a handful of older DVD cases that aren't doing much that I can use to store the discs anyway. Wonder if I can print out the volume covers from somewhere...

This is a good conclusion to the series, taking one big misunderstanding and using it to show off basically all the characters, quasi-acknowledge the two awkward romantic relationships going on, and let Abnormally Normal Girl get her time in the sun. Favorite moment was
Normal Girl's "normal" breakdown.
Overall, I enjoyed this show a great deal and would be happy to see another season as long as it can keep up the same level of quality.

Yeah i hate that about the Princess Tutu set. Everything is stacked up on one spindle with the cheapest packaging possible.

Pretty solid. I thought that was a better concert episode than the big one they did at midseason. I pretty much got what I expected out of the show, and it ends up being one of the top 10 shows for me this year.

Things I just learned: the voice of Rider, Akio Ohtsuka, is among other things the Japanese dub voice for Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction. Man do I need to hear him do the bible quote scene.

Princess Tutu 01 or Hey it's Swan Lake in animu form: More cartoons should use classical music.

As an opening episode this was genius. You get to know Ahiru's aspirations in the setting she wants to succeed at, her standing in the social system of the ballet school, and the preoccupations that arise from her clumsiness and looking up to a romantic/role model figure. It's like if the first half Spider-Man movie had been condensed in twenty minutes (assuming Peter Parker wanted to be a ballerina).

I'm enamoured with the premise. And I reiterate, more classical music in animu please.

Also watched the first episode of Utena again. Something regarding the ending of that show:
the use of the spinning roses during the "girl who met a prince" segment is so obviously not for stylistic choice alone. My interpretation of them is that they appear during moments where the characters are idealising the scenes they reminisce or fathom. In this case, it would seem to signify that the seemingly innocent recollection of Utena's meeting with Dios many years ago is not as noble as one might imagine.

It's a good thing the show decided it wasn't a serious detective mistery from the get go otherwise this would have felt really silly. Things took a turn for the insane and not in a good way, like Blood-C, and yet everything wraps up decidedly simplistically and without much fanfare. The bad guys are found out, Shinjurou vomits another of his little speeches and everyone sort of just goes home.

I never really understood what the show was going for and I honestly don't think the writers and director ever did either.

And by the way, princess rue's transformation scene is hotter than it should be.

Before we learn the fate of the two main leads, let's spend time getting to know them (how they met and what they have been through) via flashback episodes! Well some moments weren't all that bad. And things are really starting to pick up
with the blue butterfly guy actually doing something by attacking May. Just don't wait until the final episode to return to the present

And why is Master Michael always naked? Best to keep it that way with the way that guy is built

The two don't compare, unless I missed a big black screen saying "lulz see you in spring", mid-fight, given the format of the show it's no surprise it ended on that note.

It was more like I was both disappointed in how the two series closed out. Ben-To had all this build up for the Orthrus fight and we even get to see down to the last blow how Yarizui lost, but when the fight came up.lolol
except for Baldie and Orthrus everyone else got Eel... Wat? We get to see how they defeated Monarch, but not Orthros? ;_; Its the last fricking episode! Guh! ='(

Ah yes a different kind of blue balling, that said the show has avoided
fully animating guy on girl fights where the guy wins, see Shaga vs Sato.

Incredible. I think I'd already seen the entirety of this episode scattered throughout at least two dozen different shows. The tropes had tinier tropes growing out of them like some sort of trope tumor. Or a vestigial trope twin. It was pretty gross.

So long, Dan motherfucking Eagleman. You were too good for this show. Fuck you, Gai.
