Just read some thread on the dev forums where Eric Tams said that people who flame and use bad language and get reported for it are being banned from the game :lol

Awesome.

Would be pretty cool... guess you have to beta test that as well right? I am late on one mia call (btw wtf is ss when referring to a lane? seems suspicious?) and I get called almost every epithet in the book.

I will immediately begin insulting everyone I see and report back with my results. For science!

"ss" is short for "missing"

Dota player base are a bunch of cunts and cock hats, fuck this is the first game that makes me want to hunt these assholes down and cram my foot through their mouths all the way out their ass.

ya, I haven't even played a multiplayer game yet because I keep hearing such bad things about the userbase's attitude towards new players. Its unfortunate because I am really enjoying the hell out of playing vs bots even though I am clueless in this game. Hopefully they will have some sort of matchmaking that pairs like-skilled opponents against eachother otherwise whichever team I end up on is most likely gonna do a lot of yelling at me.

matchmaking already has that :/

It was really unfortunate we had such a bad team Steve :/

I'm only hanging in there for Twig and n0b ;_;

Not a big deal, you'll just have 24 hours of horrible matchmaking when playing in pubs.

I have 2 abandonment on marring my record. Both were for Gaf in-houses, totally worth it though.

The loss of the video card is much sadder.

Yeah I'm stuck with this ancient card until they ship another since it was still on guarantee. Either that or I could just buy another one now, don't think I'll receive it any sooner though.

How does it effect matchmaking exactly?

I think I just have to put a note on my screen: Don't play inhouses.

Well you might not believe it but that was a pretty good game. You guys were in a position where Botolf was getting farm around the map, and you had a team composition that could turtle the living daylights out of us until Morphling got big. You had:
1. Earthshaker with blink dagger spamming fissures on incoming creep waves so we couldn't push or bunch up together.
2. Shadow Shaman with serpent wards to defend the tower and ether shock to clear creep waves with ES.
3. Morphling who synergizes with Earthshaker extremely well and was getting farm.
4. Ancient Apparition who spammed his ultimate on us, keeping us mid-low hp and putting us in a position where one ES ult would annihilate our whole team.
5. Slardar who was the tank of the group.

Meanwhile, we had a lot of single target power, but NO PUSHING POWER to break through. We had Drow Ranger, Windrunner, Lion (me!), Batrider, and Crystal Maiden. Very poor clash power in comparison to you guys. Basically we were forced to sit around and wait for an opening (me looking for the possibility to snipe either Shadow Shaman or Earthshaker as those are the biggest issues). We would lose straight up in a 5v5 fight. Patience pays off!

I really hope stats reset when the game is released. My record is a mess since I am still unfamiliar with the game and I don't have many heroes I am good at. I need to learn to play a better carry.

Anybody want to inhouse?

Edit: Password: Neogaf if you want to play, game is up now. I'll check back every few minutes, I'm not AFK.

Dear salthouses: Don't complain about taking forever to end when you have a turtle team :lol

To be completely fair, you were stomping us so hard by that point you probably could have rubbed your boot a little and we would have lost. There wasn't much we could do. You were being overly cautious. Every time you did work up the guts to do something you killed us all, pretty much. U:

Though that's not why I was frustrated. I just really, really suck at Slardar. Being "the tank of the group" didn't help much when anytime I'd do anything anything at allllllll I'd get stunlocked to death. I couldn't initiate for shit.

After we raxed, sure, but it only took 5-10 minutes after raxing to end the game. Before that? We had that huge standstill at mid lane, and we had no real initiation hero versus all of your heroes. We weren't being overly cautious at that point, we were actually trying our hardest to find an opening.

You could have pushed multiple lanes, but it's true that it wasn't the easiest team to push against :D

Yeah I guess. I almost had my BKB up by the end of the game, but it was too late, anyway. That one push where you killed all of us at mid ruined it for me. SO CLOSE. ):

Big Morphling or no, I didn't have much idea of what I was doing in teamfights, heh. Didn't know how to jump into a replicate, and the optimal strength and agility balance baffled me.

PS. We should run the Drow + Mirana combo in matchmaking again some time, so good.

It's kinda awkward to get morph as a random, as he's probably one of the hardest carries to play and isn't that effective at all if you can't play him. (unless you're fed/perma free farm obv)

We use the ingame Neogaf channel. Look for it, browse it every once in a while. It's where we do most of our organizing.

YES. Harass heaven.

i pick viper expecting to go mid

venomancer is like "i got mid"

i'm like "all right i guess veno is fine mid if he really wants it"

game starts out okay until veno starts thinking he's a fucking carry and yells at everyone else, even though he's doing the worst on our team

refuses to buy courier or wards (somewhat forgivable as we had three supports because his friend decided to pick sandking after we already had earthshaker)

i mean i've played venomancer enough to know he can be a powerhouse early-mid game, but he's acting like he's the only thing that matters

we lost the game, of course...

YES I LOVE THE COMMUNITY OF THE DEFENSE OF THE ANCIENTS LIKE GENRE

Is Surrender/Concede in yet? :(

I haven't played it because of the bugs and lack of a surrender...

Nope, but play man! I haven't really noticed any bugs at all besides acouple UI ones.

Yeah but concede really needs to be in even if its 5 out of 5 votes, as far as i'm concerned this doesn't affect the DOTA purists since you need all 5 votes.

Complain about no beta access for months, and you don't play because you get the occasional game that you need to play out :lol There hasn't been any major bugs for months, even before invites started to go out.

I poked around the Dota 2 Wiki and I don't quite understand what this game is about. It looks like an RTS, but you're actively controlling a handful of "heroes" or "villains" instead of an army? Are the characters in the OP the only units in the game, or are there other generic units and these characters act like the Jedi or Sith in Star Wars Battlefront? I'm just shooting in the dark here.
