Do you live by any mottos? You know, "a sentence, phrase, or word inscribed on something as appropriate to or indicative of its character or use" or perhaps "a short expression of a guiding principle." I have two I like and generally try to follow.

1. Do what you have to do when you have to do it, and some day, you can do what you want to do when you want to do it.
2. Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

So, anyone have any serious, funny, or otherwise interesting mottos they live by?
