I guess backwards compability would be hard to do if they don't use a cell cpu.

Of course it is going to be more powerful. It is coming out a year later. Unfortunately most devs will still make their games for 720 since it will have a year headstart, so the advantage will only be seen by select titles like with PS3 this gen. I kind of hope Sony gets away from Cell though. That seemed to cause most of PS3's developmental problems this gen.

also, if they used advanced CELL tech...I'm sure that would speed up the process for them releasing their next console....since they have something to build from already. Also devs should be much more experienced working with the CELL.

I don't see PS4 coming out this year honestly and if it isn't coming out this year it won't come until Fall 2013. There is absolutely no chance that Sony does a Spring/Summer launch of PS4.

A little (but reliable) bird told me that ND has been a worthy Kutaragi replacement for PS4 development.
Unless they ignored them, PS4 will follow the PS3 route. That doesn't mean 599. It may be balanced by the cheaper bluray and other stuff.
Also a small controller surprise should be expected.

I fully expect the ICE team to have played a huge part in PS4 development. The very fact that Blu-Ray is cheaper now should help costs dramatically.

I'm expecting a small touch panel in the centre of the controller, where the start/select/home buttons are. Customisable for games.

I can use a laptop battery and a usb to mini usb on my ps3. That's more than I can say for the other two systems. The Vita stuff is obviously because they want it to die.

I want to know which company is the dickheaded company that makes a proprietary adapter slot for the HDMI, so you can't easily use one cord for multiple systems.
