Wii U Spotted At CES

I am sure 85% of everybody saying how ugly it is, etc will buy the shit out of one and around 2017 or 2018 everyone will say that the original Wii was a jewel that had an incredible library.

Happens every gen.

Happens with every Nintendo product (well except the DS Phat and Virtual Boy)

Hell even Super Mario Sunshine suddenly became a Masterpiece of epic proportions once SMG came out...

Can't wait for the inevitable: "Wii at least had constant releases of hardcore gaemz, Wii U kiddie suckzorz!!one!eleven"

360's d-pad is newer than the SNES's that means it is better!

Guess you never played your DS outside during winter with gloves on. Resistive = gloves stay on whereas capacitive = gloves come off, I get a cold, I die and never get to play the next Mario game.

I hope there's a humidity resistant screen for when I play in the sauna as well.

if not, I wish Nintendo the best of luck, but I can't see it breaking a million in the U.S.

The more time I spend on here, the more I see the same cycles and repeated jokes or responses to everything. I feel like I've seen everything this place has to offer.

Ouendan WiiU? oh...MS moneybagged the devs.
Did LIPS kill them?

They're zombies now.

I cannot wait for the Wii-U. The only "next-gen" console I'll buy.

Me too, but that's not so strange when I consider that I still haven't purchased a PS3 or a 360. Well, actually I tried to grab some in the 2010 Amazon.co.uk's Black Friday lightning deal mayhem, but that was impossible.

I have all consoles and a gaming pc. Had them since near their respective launches.

Wii has been far and above my favourite console this generation.

Hi sir/madam, how are you today? That's nice, I was just calling to inform you that: the WiiU controller will NOT COST $699+ LIKE TODAY'S SMART PHONES.

Thank you for your time.

Except for the fact that not nearly all tablets and smartphones cost that kind of money and they all have CPU's, RAM etc. embedded. While the Wii U just has some hardware handling the button inputs, a wireless receiver and a screen. But sure keep living in the past and making up excuses.

Okay, SOMEBODY PLEASE LINK ME THE FULL WII U SPECS!

Because as it looks, I'm the only one who haven't seen it.

Wii U doesn't have a CPU or RAM now? The Wii U is a system made of two components. The controller needs to be as cheap as possible or either the whole thing would become too expensive, or the other, more important component would suffer.

Anyone saying the Wii had an incredible library is suffering from a ridiculous case of nostalgia glasses.

You see people these days saying how they wish Nintendo would go back to the glory days of the Gamecube. It's going to happen, especially considering the Wii DOES have a good library and a fantastic first party line up.

huh? i'd say the Galaxy games alone qualify the wii for the best library this gen.

Personal preferences are personal preferences, but although Wii has a very good library thanks to Nintendo's own games and a rare third party gem here and there (Little King's Story, Muramasa, Xenoblade...), I wouldn't go that far.

Xenoblade is first party if i remember correctly.

Wii U is a smart move by Nintendo to take advantage of the huge handheld market in Japan. It doesn't want to replace portable gaming when going out, but wants to replace portable gaming when being at home.

Time will tell if their idea works, but at first sight it seems a smart move. There are good ideas behind de WiiPad.

My first thoughts. Looks like Fischer Price "Baby's First Tablet". That isn't to say that the WiiU won't be a fantastic console, but the design would embarrass my iPad-using 2 y/o niece.

If your niece is 2 years old, she's a scarcely sentient skin-blob that is more fascinated by the colours and sounds coming from the iPad 2 than the iPad 2 itself, she doesn't yet comprehend douchey self-consciousness enough to have a silly sense of embarrassment in response to a videogame controller.

Maybe he is the embarrased 2 year old niece?
