Doesnt seem like the best design choice if you have to rest the controller.
But you are sitting down while drawing on the tablet, I don't see what the problem is, here.

Sadly my HDTV has all its HDMI ports full.

No worries here. While writing this post I'm holding my iPad2 exactly like in that pic. Feels just fine.I remenber a bunch GAFers moaning about having to hold a DS3 with one hand when the Move was announced.

Good luck with that.
Don't you have to hold the tablet up in certain instances, to get some overlap between its screen and the TV?
that's just a gimmick that might be used wherever developers want (my bet is rarely lol). It's nothing you have to inherently do.Don't you have to hold the tablet up in certain instances, to get some overlap between its screen and the TV?
That sounds terribad, like using an iPad to take pictures bad.
You play games with your arms suspended in the air?

Really the only legitimate complaint about the Wii U controller is the use of slide pads over analog sticks. The thing loses no core functionality outside of that change, so at worst we have a normal controller with a screen that has some basic UI info on it while we play on our TV and some gimpy (but totally usable) analog pads.

I like the tablet with 2 detachable nunchucks at each side. Nice design. It might be a better choice for the wii u table. Just put an infrared camera at the end of one of the nunchucks and you could replace the wiimote and have a more versatile tablet controller. There's a description at endgadget's webiste.

Reggie is supposed to be on soon. I would guess talking about Wii U. Can't wait for interview ROUND 2!!! Don't understand what happened to the other Wii U thread...
Geoff is SOOO GOOD. He even hammered one of the AT&T rep's for still dropping calls even though the rep was boasting about spending $20million on improving network infrastructure.
Does anyone have a link for the Reggie interview...!?
I'm watching Spike right now, when dat reggie on? 2 minutes?
yeah they're counting down to some toshiba reveal :/I turned it on a couple minutes ago, he just said it would be sometime in the next hour.

Interesting...I wonder if it'd be possible to use the existing wiimote and do something like that considering it already has an peripheral port
I thought it was 4 PM PST meaning not until roughly another 3 hours?

Here's what I expect from the Reggie interview.
At the very end Reggie says he does in fact have something to show.
A video is played.
"The game that started a legend is reborn..." is shown on the screen.
Cue video of a Wii U Zelda 1 remake with Link fucking shit up, set to Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor."
Nintendo wins E3 months before it even starts.
lol is toshiba fucking kidding me. Get this shit out of here.
haha yeah that was awkwardlol, dodges the battery life question.

That Toshiba guy looks like Reggie with grey hair...
Reggie must be shaking.
Jesus Christ, NO! No!
I'm excited about the interview and I don't know why. I'm fairly certain the interview won't give us anything significant. What I'm most curious to see is if the reactions in this thread are as hilarious as the ones in the Microsoft thread last night.
