But the 800 is their mid-range phone, not a flagship device.
It's a flagship device in a sense that they're spending tens of millions of dollars to market it and it's the symbol of Nokia's "new coming".

710 is a mid-range phone and their low-range phones can't even run WP7.

Going by their numbering scheme, the 700 series are the low-end devices, 800 series for the mid-range and the 900 series is for the high-end. There's no flagship for the rest of the world.

Feature phones.
Whatever, but I think that "flagship device" isn't determined by its price range or its numbering. If the company treats the device as their best phone and puts a huge advertising campaign behind it, it is a flagship phone. Whether there's a more high-end phone coming out sometime in the future doesn't matter.

To whoever uses Mehdoh: it will return as a free app. Basically, he's going to continue developing at a slower pace. If you want to get updates for it, you have to get the new version.

How is the Netflix app in the US?

We got Netflix here in the UK this week but still no word on an app for wp7 (they're ignoring me pestering them on twitter :( )

Its a good app, I like it. You get your instant queue and it looks metro. The only problem is that it's not mango enabled. The video should probably be higher quality, but that's not the app's fault.

Good news, the tweet it! Author has a big update soon so that'll be interesting to see

Is it not possible for toast notifications for 3rd party apps to take you directly to the notification in the app or are devs just lazy?

An example being that if you tap on a toast notification from Facebook, it just opens up the app instead of going directly to whatever that notification was for.

I like tweet it, since it loads quickly and looks nice, but it's severely limited. It definitely needs some updates.

the work in progress has had a complete make over, conversation views have been added, location etc it's a more fully fledged offering, I should be getting a test copy in a day or so, so I'll post what is new here and how I'm finding it to use.

Did anyone okay with the Lumia 710 today? I thought it was a fantastic little device. I may try and get it for the lady if she can stomach a smaller display. At least she'd get her data speeds back (she's using my focus on tmobile)

Yep, nothing to worry about. ilomilo was also a time limited exclusive for AT&T, until it was released for everyone three months later.

this Nokia deal has been known about for a while, I seem to remember reading here they were doing deals with games companies to make their handsets more attractive with timed exclusivity deals.

Pretty sure that WhatsApp takes you directly to the active chat.

Have the dev send me the xap, I can help beta test it.

Man, that engadget tank girl is embarrassing. If I'm a tech executive, I would definitely avoid being interviewed by her.

Also surprisingly thin skinned for someone whose appearance begs for attention.

I just read that. It made me sad. I left Sprint for AT&T and the focus. I was planning on going back after my contract is up and with the thought they'd have better phones in the future. Nope, I guess not.

Sprint is looking at giving Windows Phone another stab in the "August-September time period," Owens said, but he couldn't muster much enthusiasm for the platform.

I'll wait.

Just saw my first Lumina 710 add in the US during the Heat/Clippers game on ESPN. Looked to be jabbing at Android having an ice cream cone in the ad, "The Smarter Smart Phone" was the tagline I believe.

Edit-Ad was just on again and the ice cream cone has a smiley face on it that would make a good trollface.gif

Need links.

Also the 710 is in no place to "jab" anyone. Esp. When there is the 800.
