I'm not worried about comfort though, all hands on reports say it's comfortable

If someone told me that sandpaper-lined condoms were comfortable, I'd be reluctant to believe them.

My concern is that people pretty much said the same thing about the 3DS being comfortable...but as someone with big hands (i'm 6'4) the 3DS is one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever held for long periods of time. And the button layout on the upad reminds me of the 3DS a lot...

I'll be the first to admit that the Upad looks odd.

But this isn't exactly anything like a sandpaper-lined condom. This looks like a screen with controller parts. It may be about as uncomfortable as an iPad. I don't know, I haven't held it. Neither have you.

At this point all we have to go on is the look and first hand reports. The look is odd, hands on reports say it is about as comfy as a lightweight screen with controller parts can be.

Faint praise? Could be.

Won't know until I've actually held the thing.

it looks thicker than the 3ds to me, which looks like what I need. 3DS made my hand cramp or fall asleep because there was nothing to really grab onto, bought a grip to solve it :P

We're all going to feel stupid if sandpaper lined condoms are actually comfortable.

I bet they stay in place nicely.

FOREVER.

Edit: I'm fucking baffled that people think this thing will be uncomfortable. Nintendo, whatever you may think of them, is damn good with the ergonomics of home console controllers.

Nothing about that controller looks especially uncomfortable. You sound like a crazy person.

We live in a world where people argue that, between the 360 pad and DS3, one or the other is unusable. What must someone who has any issues with either think of this? I'm crazy?

So what you're trying to say is almost everyone who has tried the wii u controller is part of Nintendo's conspiracy to get us to wear sandpaper-lined condoms?

edit: nooo you guys caught the typo!

They're still both better than the Wiimote man. Even the Wii U padlet is!

Definitely.
Maybe the Wii U padlet will give us microinjections of narcotics. Innovation.

When was the last time a Nintendo controller was uncomfortable to hold? The N64? NES? Even those are arguable.

When was the last time one of their controllers was bigger than a Wii?

No need to pull a red herring here. The Wii U controller, as we've heard, is a very comfortable controller. You might not think so due to the way it looks, so you'll probably have to hold it in your hands when you get the chance.

N64 was great.

NES was probably the worst of any Nintendo controller, but it was still comfortable. I'm sure the Wii U controller will be comfortable too but FUCK SLIDE PADS

AUGH

Haven't the Wii U padlets people have used been externally powered, anyway?
The final controller could well be twice as heavy.

Why even bother asking when you think all impressions of the thing are invalidated simply because they're reports from the media?

Everytime I see the WiiU controller I think it will cramp your hands/wrists after a while. You have to hold your hands pretty far apart, isn't that an ergonomic nightmare?
