I would have died and gone to heaven if the draft ended up that way for that Pats, which it won't.

Year after year I get my hopes up, to have them crushed by BB his picks and trades. Right after the draft I promise myself that the next year I will not get excited, but it still happens every time :(

Was anyone listening to FAN a few minutes ago? They played a clip of an LDT interview that's supposed to air tonight on Inside the NFL on Showtime, and boy did he air the Jets' dirty laundry. Team was in turmoil since week 4, locker room was the worst he's ever seen, etc. I couldn't believe what I was hearing (well I could, but goddamn, what would the rest of the team think of him saying that)

Fucking Awesome. We stand a way better chance against the Giants with Delanie back, think he had his career and season high in catches against them the game this season.

Ya, looks like he's gonna get cleared. Ginn, Goldson, and Goodwin didn't practice today. I'm not too worried about Goodwin or Goldson but I don't think it's looking good for Ginn playing. Swain isn't the same...

Eh, if we had to be missing one of our WRs, Ginn is the one to miss. I'll miss him on ST most, obviously, Kyle Williams will likely be doing punt and kick returns if Ginn misses out. Need Goodwin and Goldson to play though, both would be huge losses (who's our backup center? Is it Boone or Snyder? I'm hoping its Boone, but I can't remember) if they didn't play though.

As for the mock draft, I'll take any position in the back 7. LBs were better this year but an upgrade would be good, especially if Tulloch leaves.

I know the debate was had last week about whether or not they should focus on need or continue with the "best player available" strategy that they seem to have gone with during Mayhew's reign, and I'm starting to think that I'd be okay with that, excepting a few particular positions. No offensive skill positions, D-tackle, or punter...anything else feels like fair game to me at #23 so long as they're sure they have a guy that can make an impact on the field. My personal preference would be for a linebacker so I do agree with Kiper on that much at least, but only if there's not somebody appreciably better at another spot that's still on the board.

Does this mean LDT is retiring?

I squirmed a little last week when I saw that closeup shot of a trainer palpate Ginn's knee when he went down. There's way too much fluid in that knee...

Boone is a tackle. Our backup C is Snyder, and when he is playing C we have Rachal playing RG, ugh.

I think Goodwin and Goldson will be fine. Goodwin was quoted earlier in the week saying that he would have to be dead to miss this game.

Ginn's loss would hurt, we would probably have to activate Joe Hastings for another WR.

I meant I'm not worried in the case of those two not playing. Pretty sure they'll play. But ya, it'd be Snyder taking the snaps.

Fuuuuuck. See, its not Snyder being center that worries me. It's Snyder not being right guard that worries me. Fucking Chilo Rachal needs to be cut yesterday. Find someone else to back up Snyder, I don't give a fuck. We really need to get a back up RG in the offseason.

24.) Pittsburgh Steelers
Record: 12-4
* Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis

Dick LeBeau can do a lot of things, but he can't scheme around age. The Steelers were very good on defense this season, but they simply have to get younger, particularly up front, if they want to maintain it. Poe has risen a lot for me in terms of value, but he's also a rarity, that zero-technique centerpiece to a 3-4 defense, the guy who simply eats up tacklers and is a human wall in the run game. If he develops, Poe can be the heir to Casey Hampton in the middle of that scheme, a human boulder who will free up those linebackers.

If we did this our whole DL would be very youthy when faze over beyon aaron smith, bret keisel, casey hampton

We need OL and CB before we go DL.

I'm also surprised to see all the mocks having the Browns throw McCoy under the bus. Who is RGIII going to throw to? That team hasn't had a good WR in years. They need to add weapons for McCoy before they decide to replace him with another guy who has no weapons.

31.) San Francisco 49ers
Record: 13-3
* Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina

The 49ers got much better production out of the offense this season, but I still see a need for a big target on the outside, something Braylon Edwards wasn't able to provide. Jeffery is an absolute beast, a guy who plays at more than 230 pounds and easily could top 6-foot-4 when he measures out. He goes up over corners and attacks the ball, catching it away from his body like a rebounder. The Niners struggled mightily in the red zone all season, and Jeffery might not be a burner but is the kind of player you can post up in the end zone to help solve that problem.

Fuck that shit, we're not taking fatty with our first pick. This is the WR who looks huge right? I'm all for a WR, but not him.

As a Pats fan I'm kinda worried about the reports about Vollmer, Cannon and Solder. Not sure who's going to start at right tackle. It's definitely a concern with the Ravens pass rush.

So the loss of Nick Mangold combined with Sanchez horrid performance is to blame.

Hell I think I know the moment.

Convert him to a TE.

Because the two players aren't even in the same stratosphere talent wise. Can always add receivers later.

Well yeah, i was just saying if we go that route it'll lead to us have 3 youth as fuck lineman. We could go so many routes in the draft really, we have a roster full of needs. Also McCoy sucks nuts and is going to lead the Browns no where and RGIII is a good qb prospect.

I agree that our roster is full of holes, but if Hampton is coming back next year then I wouldn't be drafting his replacement. We have holes *now* not a year or two from now when some of these guys retire.

Our CB situation is shit. Taylor is barely above average and the other side is a clusterfuck. Our OL has been a revolving door for just about as long as I can remember. Thank God they brought Starks back when they did; otherwise Ben would have been killed a lot earlier in the year. That being said, we need a great LT, not one that just got pulled out of the buffet line at Golden Corral.

So either CB or OL. Maybe ILB if Farrior isn't coming back.

Edit: Oh, and if RGIII has no one to throw to he will also suck.

I hope we aren't relying on Farrior again next year. As for RGIII, well they always can get a wr in rd 2 or 3 or next years draft or FA. Can't rebuild the entire pos franchise in 1 year :P

So far, I know 8 people going to the SF game on Sunday. Two of them are solid fans and have been for years. The other six are going to their FIRST GAME EVER!!!!!

Trolling that idiot who said pierre thomas = VD and delaine walker wasnt important to our offense

I know what you are doing, but your shrapnel is hitting the innocent!

I know you already know this, but I'll say it anyway. Winning always breeds new fans, bandwagon fans as we have affectionately labeled them here. I have met more Lions fans this year than I have in 22 years in Michigan. Get ready for all kinds of new Ravens fans in here if they make it to the Superbowl (or any team for that matter).

BB, why you gotta upset your own fans? I know not to trust the injury report, but I'll still worry the rest of the week. FU!

We need OL and CB before we go DL.

But they also need inside LB help, desperately. I'd argue that's where age hurt them on D, not along the DL like Kiper suggested. Keisel had a terrific year, Hampton and Hood were solid. But they do need depth. Meanwhile Farrior and Foote were problems. And the youth at OLB that played when Harrison and Woodley were out proved that they either aren't ready or never will be.

Whut? What reports? Noooo

Think Solder will play and so will Cannon in 3 TE sets, kinda bummed about Vollmer though, his durability was a concern when they drafted him so I hope he can stay healthy next season. Also hope that Solder can stop getting concussed, this is the second time this season.

Edit: Ok, I was a little late. Lol

Yeah, I need Vollmer to win the SB this year. 3 Germans winning in 3 of the 4 big leagues within 1 year would be pretty awesome.

Ahahahaha, I had to google that cover because I was sure that's a fake. Looks like something FMT would come up with.

Also, WTF Peter King.

Alexis' face, hand placement, 'Surprise, Surprise' and 'Alex Smith took charge' just has to be the most intentionally homoerotic combination ever put in print.

Pats are too good.

And damnit, the first thing I saw in that cover was "Surprise!" and then my eyes drifted to Alex's face
