2011 49ers:
- best special teams in the league
- best turnover margin in the league
- qb who doesn't turn the ball over and can be clutch if we need it
- great coaching staff
but we'll see!
No one outside of NE (and for some strange inexplicable reason some socal gaffers) want the Pats to win.

On the other, Eli is still the biggest bitch alive.
Dilema. :jnc
I can't decide who I want to win.
On one hand, Still pissed at the Pats for beating us in 06 and 07.

Who's your team?
Who's your team?
Also, the Chargers avatar might give it away hahah, but I'll give him the BOTD and assume it wasn't showing up for him.If you actually knew football, read: you don't, you'd know the Pats beat the Chargers in the playoffs in '06 and '07. Eli also refused to go to the Chargers as well.
sounds like a butthurt green bay op title to me. this matchup is actually a pretty good one.

Everyone's "Awful matchup" comments feel so good.
I always thought the NFC would beat the AFC in the Super Bowl whoever it was and it'll happen again.
DO IT, GIANTS.
Also, Eli and JPP are pulling out of the Pro Bowl. How about not having the Pro Bowl no one is going to watch anyway before the SB?
Another fan pointed this out and never realized it, shit man the other AFC teams need to step up...

It's funny, four years ago I was more in stunned disbelief that the Giants were in the super bowl, not even mentioning the possibility of them actually winning. Maybe this will change in the course of the next two weeks, but this matchup almost feels business-as-usual to me.
Giants are the only NFC to have repeat appearances in 11 years

Most outsiders still have the notion that this is a New York vs. Boston rivalry. Patriots and Giants share the same fanbase for the most part. Growing up it has always been weird.

From what I understand there's just a lot more regional overlap then for something like Yankees-Red Sox for example (see: Connecticut) but they are still distinct fanbases outside of that overlap.
Don't do that! Check the 2009 SB thread when Indy fans experienced the same hubris.
No, not just regional. CT is the regional overlap, but growing up this was Giants town. Have a ton of hybrids currently.
Jets are a different story.
No no, I don't mean to say that the Giants will definitely win, just that it's not "oh my god the Giants actually got to the Super Bowl I can't believe it" and more "Good, the Giants managed to get to the Super Bowl, I hope they win it again."
Actually, I think I see how this can work. After all, with how terrible the Patriots were before 2001 the Giants would be the logical bandwagon choice to grow up with in that area.
That's weird... I thought I was the only one out of socal repping the patriots... but whatever. As much as I want them to win, I cant watch the Superbowl. No one outside of NE (and for some strange inexplicable reason some socal gaffers) want the Pats to win.

Too many NFC West teams. There should be a rule against having 7 bye weeks.Giants are the only NFC to have repeat appearances in 11 years
*list*
2001 is too far, when the trio (Kraft/Parcells/Bledsoe) came everything changed around here. There was always a loyal fanbase for the Patriots. The prior years probably comparable to the Islanders maybe in the Boston sports structure.
Hence why Bledsoe > Brady.
