Clear fumble

That was the rule though! Not my problem.

I just want to say that FMT's post-game comments were a total letdown. It's like he got neutered.

How can you blast FMT for his post game comments? Futurevoid will back me up, even as the winning team we were thinking anything after beating down Atlanta in the wildcard round was gravy on an already terrific season. How can you or anyone get at a guy who's team went through to the NFC Championship game after a decade of mediocrity? That's crazy talk....

Did you guys beat the Saints or did they beat themselves?

... and just like that you redeem yourself!!

I can't seriously listen to anyone saying that the Niners gave the game away on STs and that Kyle Williams cost themselves a trip to the SB. Here's the tale of the tape for me on this game:

  • 1/13 on third down
  • All of 1 completion to WRs all game
  • 12/26 196 passing yards for Smith but 101 yards came on 2 receptions by Davis (see below)
  • Two touchdowns on busted coverages to Davis

I'll leave it to one's discretion whether or not to credit the Giants D on any of the above points.

Smith ran the ball too. Eli wasn't much or any better than Smith.

He was same old Eli. Good and Bad. LOL @ Trent calling Eli last night "masterful" Or Greeny saying you needed to watch to see how great he was not the stats.

Eli threw 2 balls that easily could of been INTs. And he put the ball on the ground 1 time.

Eli was great in the first half, but was rattled by the rush in the second like A-Rod last week. He also had two throws that should've been picks had the 49ers' DBs not run into each other both times and knocked the ball out.

And outside of some skittishness I thought Flacco played very well. Made most of the throws he needed to and was a planted foot away from a game-winning TD.

It's clear that you guys have no clue what you are watching.

ksk.gif

You mean to tell me that Flacco, Brady, Smith, Matt Ryan, Mark Sanchez, or any other fucking golden boy annointed QB in the league could have taken that beating and STILL kept firing and just overall not giving a fuck? Refrigerator says "outside of some skittishness I thought Flacco played very well" he'd have fucking shit his pants if on every Tebow-damn drop back the opposing team was rushing 6 and 4-5 guys were getting through. You gotta be fucking kidding me if after taking 20 hits you're blasting Eli for fumbling ***ONCE***.

I can't believe that in the thread we are debating Tom Brady as the greatest of all time, the same Tom Brady that looked like hot garbage after the Ravens hit him a few times, the same Tom Brady that led an undefeated team into the Super Bowl and lost because he got the shit knocked out of him - we can't give Eli his just due. Fuck outta here. We're clearly not watching the same thing.

The last two teams I ever wanted to see in the SB...this is a nightmare.

At least the game is on NBC.

I will have to root for the Pats :(

I also owe 5 Giants fans at work lunch today :(

I also have to hear about it for two weeks from friends, co-workers, and family. I love NYC but hating living in it at times like these.

Fuck fat fuck Reid for directly handing the Giants this opportunity. Fuck Juan Castillo too.

Huh what? We handed Just Winz a game, that's about all the handing that was done between the Eagles and Giants. Thanks for sucking complete dick this season and getting the fuck out of our way, I guess. We beat the #1 seed the #2 seed, and everyone's trendy super bowl pick at the beginning of the season. Thanks for not living up to Just Winz's prediction of a dream team, is that what has you salty? 15 other teams in the NFC handed us the opportunity too. I'd like to thank each one of them as well.

Face it, Vick and co had one extraordinary year and regressed to their mean. Building an all-star squad only works in the MLB (Thank you based-Yankees).

Seriously? Fuck you Wellington.

You shit on the dad mourning the loss of his son when you beat the Packers and the above is all you can come up with when you vanquish the ultimate evil that is FMT and his assless chaps sex bondage ways? I could not be more disappointed with this post.

I take back what I said last week, we aren't cool. Not by a long shot! Go Patrio....

Oh God, I just threw up a little.

Drunk Wellington > Tired Wellington

You are an Eagles fan right? WTF BRO? Root for the Giants? Pats are not a fun option yes but cmon we must unit in with our hate for the Giants.

He's a Bills fan too, don't forget.

Eli has to be the most chill, well mannered, humble QB in the league (that doesn't flaunt his religion) yet he gets super dope hated on like he stole something. Somewhere kittens are crying because of all this blind rage.

No one really hates Eli..

He only get's laughed at because he so weird and akward. I think he's adorable.

I seriously don't get some Jets fans, there really is no rivalry between the two NY teams, yet some Jets fans here at work will be cheering for the Pats (wut?) over the Giants, I mean seriously? I would never in a million years cheer for any of the NFC East teams to beat the Jets in the Super Bowl, hell against any AFC team.

The thing is that I didn't mind the Giants up until they beat us Christmas Eve and every Giants fan came out and just shit talked like there's no tomorrow, when in reality that game was played awfully by both teams. If the Jets won I wouldn't have been bragging because it was such an awful game. That being said, having the Giants lose would just be a nice big STFU while us beating the Patriots next season would make the win that much better. On the other hand, watching the Patriots win the Super Bowl again would just be infuriating. It's a lose-lose

Oh and it was hilarious having an Eagles fan on my FB blame the Giants making the Super Bowl on the Jets

Just showing you how useful a still image is when discussing rules decisions.

I wasn't using that as the prime example, just wanted to see the picture again. It reminded me of that Jennings catch against the Giants. Both are examples of what defines a dropped endzone catch and what does not.

Must have been pretty sweet for all the Giants and Patriots fans who happened to have their accounts approved yesterday. What timing!

Who are you?

JOE FUCKING FLACCO- Did he play ok yesterday? Yes, shit, he outplayed Brady, but here's my problem. That was one game. That wasn't the fucking tipping point on him becoming a great quarterback. It was a fucking outlier. And the shit is, he did enough yesterday to make people think he isn't a shit quarterback, and that we should lock him up to a long term contract. WHICH IS FUCKED!! He's not a winner, the team is a winner, he's not ELITE, he's not the reason we win, and his tard mustache needs to go worse than Cundiff. His performance yesterday not only didn't get us a win, but it fucked us out of our Super Bowl chances for the next five years.
Nobody with facial hair like that should ever play in a Super Bowl. Everything that went wrong yesterday was just God making sure that continues to be the case.

a lot of the Giant fan shit talking came because of the false bravado from Rex Ryan, the curtain covering of the Giants title mural, the media coverage of the Jets over the past few years, and just the shit talking in general from that whole franchise that has led to a lot of lulz towards the Jets after they lost that xmas eve game.

It's also worth mentioning that the 49ers sole third down conversion yesterday (the 1 in 1 for 13) came on the final play of regulation when the Giants were in complete prevent mode and standing 60 yards downfield. Even the single conversion they had was meaningless, that is just stunning third down defense.

RangerFan, your avatar needs to put some clothes on. Some poors in here actually work in offices with other people.

Hey, someone has to look out for you guys while the mods are off persecuting Frankman.

He's a Bills fan too, don't forget.
Ha, alright enough with that BS, I grew up in Toronto and rooted for them as a ten-year-old, but it's not as if I actively hate them now. It's like you with the f'n Yankees and Mets? What's the diff there?

Here's all the proof I need from earlier this season.

Super dope thread. Woke up, sat in my favorite chair, and reflected on the greatness that is Eli. Who would have thought Eli was the true bearer of light, and will deliver this thread and world of evil. The darkness shall be vanquished soon, and Eli will ride again.

The easy pick is saying "Patriots" will win. Usually people that say that have brains of a baby monkey.

And another Patriots'... FIRST DOWN SUPERBOWL!

Another fan pointed this out and never realized it, shit man the other AFC teams need to step up...

AFC Superbowl participants....

2001 - Pats
2002 - Raiders
2003 - Pats

2004 - Pats
2005 - Steelers
2006 - Colts
2007 - Pats
2008 - Steelers
2009 - Colts
2010 - Steelers
2011 - Pats

Added a few to show that even though it's been a Pats/Colts/Steelers decade for the AFC, it's really been mostly the Pats. Also, the Steelers SB wins were absolute jokes. Seahawks and Cardinals? Really? People actually take satisfaction in those? Whoop-dee-fn' ding.

Lastly, the Giants' D won't be able to hold and facemask their way to a Superbowl win this time.

Ravens had 3 drives to win the game in the 4th and couldn't do it. Should have put in Tyrod.

Yeah, let's throw in a rookie with practically zero on the field experience in favor of a quarterback who was outplaying Tom freaking Brady. That is retarded.

Flacco was fucking terrible. There were a million of check downs he could have thrown to but chose not to for some reason cause he wasn't seeing them. He's fucking blind.

He choked. All there is to it.

Yeah, he choked when he drove his team down the field twice but didn't score a TD because of two fuck-ups his receivers committed. Give me a break.

How do you know that? It very well could be.

Flacco? A professional quarterback doing the job he is paid to do properly?! I'm shocked. Playing well in a loss means nothing. We are just going to have to see his performance going forward.

If the argument pertains to "Is Flacco an elite quarterback now?", then the answer is simply no. Elite quarterbacks don't cry to the media moments after the game addressing his eliteness.

Those redesigned conference champion trophy were fucking ugly and looked CHEAP..

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought this.

Heartbreaking, heartbreaking loss. To see the game end on such a ridiculous mistake by a guy who'd already made 3 of them prior (one of which cost us 7) was just a bitter pill to swallow. Game was handed to the Giants twice. Still stings bad.

The non-fumble forward progression call was absolute horseshit, everyone knows it and the game was over had it not been called, but what are you gonna do. Bad calls happen all the time.

Offense was very inconsistent and shaky throughout, especially the pass game, but Smith made some great throws and great run decisions, and the run game was very solid. Our defense absolutely dominated the Giants all game, outside of the Rogers/Cruz matchup, Victor was en fuego. The second half especially was a complete shutdown, especially if Kyle fucking Williams didn't feel the need to stand two fucking inches away from a bouncing football.

Today is a dark, dark day. Great season, great things ahead, but a shit way to end it.
