Things not shown, all my retro games + consoles.

Other consoles + LE stuff I have no room for!

PS3 + Wii as they are in the lounge, I mainly use my 360 for everything.

Just completed this room last week. Needs some finishing touches like my retro lancer which I am going to hang on the wall and a cool poster which I'm going to frame and hang up. Oh and a new 40" TV which will come some time this year. Currently my 6 year old 32" Panasonic LCD is doing me fine.

Oh and for anyone wondering what the Sega panel is for, well I made it at work and bought the large Sega sticker. I'm buying some joysticks and buttons which I will use when I set up my Sega Naomi system inside my VF cab. Will be pretty much a straight swap while keep everything else original.

Sorry for quoting this picture yet again, but I'm sure nobody minds :)

donkamio: Something I find extremely interesting is how you have the wall tiled in your living room.
I don't think I've ever seen it done as you have it.
Was it a deliberate choice of yours or something already already present when you moved in?
It gives me plenty of ideas!

Hi JS- thanks for the kind words. the gloss white wall paneling was my idea but the original idea of panelling came from THE FORCE's setup. Instead of using white painted wood like him, i decided to go gloss white as gloss white is reflective and gives an increased perception of space. Try a kitchen shop to get the panels then just hang them up like picture frames.

New TV is purchased and all set up! I just need to clean up the wires with cable ties since I am done connecting my devices and then I can take pictures. I purchased the Samsung UN46D6000 LED HDTV and it absolutely beautiful with everything I have tested on it with. Two more additions will be coming to my entertainment center though. I will be purchasing a new TV cabinet from IKEA in the next few weeks and I definitely need to get a speaker system.

I actually upgraded from a 42" Hitachi plasma TV that displayed in 720p. If I can be nitpicky on one thing with my new Samsung is that the speakers are not even close to as good as the ones I had on my Hitachi plasma. But that thing also weighed another 50-60lbs more. But it made me realize with certainty that I am in need of a sound system.

I am also assuming this would be a good thread to ask the following question: I am looking at just getting a 2.1 sound system. What ones are recommended? I would like to spend less than $350.

Pictures of my current setup coming a little later today!

It's weird that we both have the same inspiration source. Small world.

Where was The Force's setup? Was it that futuristic looking one with the like... white and orange chairs or something crazy like that?

OK! Weekend project.
My TV is hanged way too high. I've been looking at some setups in here and....yeah.

Also, how do you guys hide your cables? I have a mess in here!
Speaker cables, Internet, Power cables, HDMI, Power surges, Radio Antenna, Optical audio...

Ideas?

some people (you can see this if you look carefully) buy these special little plastic covers that go over the walls where the wires run down from tvs that are mounted. that can look pretty good as long as you still have some of the original paint for your walls so they blend in well. you can buy the same things for running wire along the ground.

as for general clutter, zip ties are helpful. being able to simply store all the actual stuff in an adjacent closet or cabinet works wonders thanks to RF repeaters.

What exactly is that RR4 box? It can't be the Japanese controller bundle...what is it?!
PAL Collector's Edition, it came with a t-shirt and soundtrack CD. The press kit used the same presentation box but had a CD full of uncompressed game assets instead.

And boy, seeing The Force's setup is really disheartening when you are trying to assemble your own minimalistic room.

i saw that ages ago, was blown away but realized it's not something that's
super hard to achieve, you just need some time to plan what you want, and
then buy the right things - a sense of style is really important.

looking at the houses our family lived in over the years makes me lol, no sense of
style at all, or maybe its just my parents tastes but its all been wood and dark colours.

i have a rough idea of what i want when i get my own place, whether i'll have the
money for it all is another thing

He had posted on GAF a long time ago.[/QUOTE]It looks fantastic, especially the colour combinations. However it really isn't very practical. The "couch" infront of the TV does not strike me as comfortable and I'm absolutely clueless as to why there are two comfortable leather chairs up against the wall facing the kitchen bar.

If I was rich I'd make my house look straight out of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, gold tint filter and all... unless someone did already and is not showing it yet. :P

A lot of gaming in a tight space, usually play my PC games with the 360-controller on the Bravia, kinda hard to play ps3 games after them graphics. And yeah, messy room...

Case high five !

A question though, does your graphics card hang down somewhat thus getting quite deformed ?

I know mine is, too heavy for its own good lol.

EDIT: looking closer at the case picture, i can see that it is the case, i would do something about it if i were you IMO

The card is so heavy it actually does hang down a bit. I guess I could find something to hold it up if there is a risk it could get damaged this way.

Yeah, you should definitively try to level it out a bit, so it doesn't hang down so much, as it is not good at all, for anything really, but be sure not to pressure it too much to the other direction as well. If you look at my pic, those are the two points i found that level it out the best, as i found that my power cables are 50 % at fault that it hangs down.

So you're using 1 receiver for the front speakers and one for the back, or does the Rocket Fish thing act as the rear receiver? I also have outlets on the floor next to the couch in the middle of the room so that may work. Appreciate the pics when you get them up, thanks dude.

So here's how it works. The transmitter half is wired to the receiver via regular speaker wire, and sits under the TV. The receiver half sits under my couch and is plugged into the wall for power, and the speakers via regular speaker wire. This is what it looks like with the couch pulled out from the wall:

TPWA8.jpg

The two speaker wires run out of the box, along the quarter-round on the wall, and then up to the speakers. My house is a narrow little rowhouse, and I don't have a fisheye lens (and I'm not much of a photographer), so I couldn't get it all in one pic. This is the back - you can see one surround up on the wall.

vDosh.jpg

This is the front. As you can see, there was no good way to get wire to the back. My basement is finished, so going under the floor would be tricky, and the three walls you can see in my pics are all solid brick with drywall glued directly to them. There's no wall on the side I'm taking the picture from - it's an open floor plan house, with no separated rooms on this floor.

kkyFW.jpg

And here's the entertainment unit itself. Normally you can't see the junk inside it, but the flash lights it right up. I just got the speakers, and I hate how they look next to it.

AAFjD.jpg

I don't have much equipment in there - just the center speaker, a PS3 and controllers, a Roku, and the receiver. I just got a new Pioneer VSX-1021 receiver, and I'm very happy with it. The built in Airplay support combined with wake-on-lan is pretty damned great.

I wanted to hang the TV on the wall a couple of feet higher than the furniture, but the wall is brick, so I would have to surface mount the power and hdmi. Also, My brick is over 100 years old, so screwing a 100 lb TV into it when I can't see anything makes me nervous.

First post here.
All my equipment had to be moved into a room in the basement once my daughter started walking...been in there ever since. This is a tiny room which is solely used by me as my audio/gaming/computing room. It's not the most elegant setup but it does the job for now.

First, here's a shot of the main system.
Here we have a 40 inch Samsung LN40B550 LCD TV, PS3 slim 160 GB, Cambridge Audio DacMagic DAC, IBM X31 laptop optimized for audio only, Arcam CD73 CD player, some Swarovski crystal, Chang Lightspeed CLS405 powerline conditioner, Ayre AX-7e integrated amplifier, Proac Tablette Reference 8 Signature speakers in Mahogany finish, Street Fighter 4 Tournament Edition fight stick, and some room accents such as the fake sticks in vases and artwork above.

Directly to the right is my gaming PC which I'm now using primarily as a racing setup. I've ordered 2 more 24 inch monitors to make this an eyefinity setup; should be here by the end of the week. For now, the desk looks a bit bare.

So here we have a Core i7 960 3.20 GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58 motherboard, 12 GB DDR3 1600 RAM, 64 GB Intel X25-E SLC drive for OS only, 128 GB Kingston V-100 MLC drive for programs, 120 GB OCZ Vertex MLC drive for data, Sapphire HD6870 1 GB video card, Asus Xonar Essence sound card, Corsair TX850 powersupply, CoolerMaster HAF 932 full tower case, Dell Ultrasharp U2410 24 inch LCD monitor. I am using Audioengine A2 speakers for the desktop setup. Logitech G27 racing wheel kit. Logitech G110 gaming keyboard, Logitech G9x gaming mouse, Razer Destruktar gaming mouse pad. Computer is running Windows 7 Home 64 bit. On the floor are some PS3 games.

IMG_0184.jpg

Further to the right of the racing setup is a MacBook Air that I use a lot for browsing the web. Below are 21 external hard drives.

IMG_0185.jpg

Directly to the left of the main system is my lounging/headphone setup.
Here we have an Alienware M17x R3, Core i7-2670QM 2.2 GHz, 8 GB 1600 Dual Channel RAM
NVidia GTX580M 2 GB video card, 17.3 inch WFHD1920x1080 120Hz with LED 3D Bundle, two 500 GB Hybrid hard drives in RAID 0 running Windows 7 Home 64 bit. On the floor are some items not in use (NAD T753 receiver, Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD player). Behind the laptop is the headphone setup.

IMG_0176.jpg

The headphone setup...
Sennheiser HD800 headphones, Headroom Desktop Amp/DAC, Headroom Desktop powersupply.

...where'd you get that sofa? thing looks great!

hey ninja, that sofa in the FORCE's setup is part of the 'plastics' range from italian contemporary design company KARTELL. v cool company- my kitchen stools and living room lamps come are by KARTELL and i'm seriously considering their spoon chair for my study.

for those of you who noticed the warp 20 prints you have a very keen eye- good spot. when warp released warp20 i was very much taken with the cover art. luckily yesstudio released the warp20 editions available below which are limited to 100 each but are still available- you just need to frame em!!!

finally- loving the last 3 setup’s from Painkiller Q8, Audiogremlin (saw that on avforums- serious gadgetry) and Bgamer90- that Time poster is ace!!!

Ditched the triple monitors in favour of 1 1200p + 1 120hz,

This monitor setup may have more issues then surround though lol.

Thanks. I actually got the poster at a local gamestop. Had to pre-order MW3 to get it. Wasn't interested in MW3 but I pre-ordered it (and eventually bought it) just for the poster mainly. The frame it's in was worth more than the poster.

Oh and I want your clock donkamio! I want it so bad but $1,100 is way too much for a college student like me. Even if I did have the money it would still be hard for me to get it since I'm not use to clocks costing that much.

Also, nice setup painkiller. I really like the red.

There are some extraordinary set ups in this forum.... Wow guys, congrats. I felt like I needed to contribute. After years of improvement, and yet still more to be made, here is the current iteration of my man cave:

Hello Gaf! It's nothing special, but the cost of living is some of the highest in the country. My setup (for some reason the back lighting behind the TV looks weird in photos; it's uniform looking in person and not three blobs of light):

The gap on the entertainment unit with the loose cords is where the Xbox 360 would be. My brother had taken it into another room at the time this was taken.
