nope! ruled a fumble!

and the funnier thing is, in the 49ers/giants game, no whistle was blown until we already had the ball

They blew the whistle but then they did say it was ruled a fumble before calling the penalty. I think they just didn't give a shit because it didn't matter, the play was getting called back no matter what.

I like Manningham's catch more than Tyree's, just a personal preference. Anyway, that and the Blackburn pick were the two big plays for NY and of the game really. And Eli was ballsy throwing into some tight windows, had a heck of a game.

No, the helmet catch was much better. Just because Eli was almost sacked, and catching a pass with your helmet is much more unique.

EDIT - Manningham's catch was great for the same reason that, say, Santonio's catch was great. Neither of them can really be compared to the helmet catch.

My opinion might be tainted 'cause of the excitement and it being fresh in my mind. Suffice to say, this was a greater, more impressive play skill-wise, but the Helmet Catch was more unbelievable/memorable.

Chase must be looking at himself in the mirror wondering how things played out the way that they did. He was a special teams captain last year and was let go before the season started. Then 13 games into the season, he was brought in and completely settled down a linebacking corp that was playing mostly rookies and was reeling with the loss of Boley for a few games. He's not amazing but talk about coming in and making a big difference.

YAY Free Pizza from Papa John's + Soda

Thanks for the great flip, the Ghost of Curtis Martin's Aura held true, that was a ghost right?

Great Game too, I was just hoping for Heads, then everything else was the cherry on top hehe

Congrats Giants fans. Just an okay super bowl, great ending.

As usual, overreactions everywhere.

Now it's Rams time. Also known as the off-season.

If you would have listened to my analysis you wouldnt have been disappointed, you would have been expecting it.

i would never trust a bears fans analysis unless that analysis is about the follies of having 2 offensive coordinators (which you will be an expert on after your team fails miserably this season)

well i was wrong. i thought itd be a blowout in favor of the giants. looks like they wanted to play it safe. oh well.

boring superbowl.

congrats Giants, i'll be at the parade Tues accompanying my roomate and gf, both of whom are giants fans.

lol the 49ers. Not just the cessation of forward momentum, he fumbled when he was going backwards. I'm still surprised you guys are salty on that. Routine call

1. Should Tuck have been MVP? I mean it always goes to the QB, but Tuck was great

2. Seemed like the Pats actually coached a better game. The difference was really down to Brady making poor throws that his WRs are taking the heat for

Yeah, he stopped the bleeding for the season. And he out Gronked Gronk on that play. But Brady is hilarious when he "scrambles". He looks like he's getting tased.

You'll be there next year wearing green.

Yup. Tuck was the MVP. He was lights out the standalone reason why the Giants won.

No, I think Eli earned it with that final drive. To this day I believe Tuck was the MVP of 42 though. He took over that game and it made more of a difference against an offensive juggernaut like the '07 Patriots. Eli's final drive was great, yeah but Tuck was a monster.

it was a bullshit call and if you're saying that you dont see that called a fumble more often then not you're just trying to troll. shits been ruled a fumble against us plenty of times and the play today was just like it. you're acting like we picked him up and were carrying him backwards. he made a move and was then being tackled. he was in the process of going to the ground, the play is not over.

people saying tuck should be mvp are just engaged in typical anti-hype silliness. eli was fantastic and more than deserved it (if nicks had made manningham's catch he would have been the best choice).

It was crazy seeing Brady during the last 4 minutes of the 4th quarter. He had this look on his face like he couldn't believe the same exact thing was happening to him again. Like he couldn't believe he was reliving the worst moment of his sports career again. Almost looked teary-eyed when he knew he was about to lose.

Manning actually deserved his MVP this time. 75% completion percentage, was carving up the Pats defense all day and was only undone by penalties/non-called DPIs/key defensive plays, and masterfully orchestrated the final drive without all the ridiculous luck that hung over the final drive of SB42.

That night, the Super Bowl XLVI champion Giants will host the first real game of the new campaign, hosting the Cowboys, Redskins, Eagles, Saints, Bucs, Packers, Steelers, or Browns.

Pick us!

...who am I kidding, it's the Packers.

Well not much to say... Brady has really hurt his legacy here, not much else to say. Dissapointing all over again. Could've really been something special, but another blown opportunity on Brady's fast closing window. Sure they can go out and get a outside weapon, but really Brady can never get to that Montana level, so this one really kinda stings. Here's hoping for another good season next season :-/.

I like Eli. But he was not lights out great today. Clutch drive at the end and a great playoff run. But he did not play at the level of Tuck. Now it's called MVP, and so naturally the QB should almost always win, since he's involved in so many more plays

I said at the time, and still believe, it was a routine call. The BS fumble/no fumble calls are when a guy is still fighting and still moving at least laterally or forward. Bradshaw was going backwards when he fumbled

Aside from Sanchez and Tebow any QB can do that.

Tuck should have won.

brady has nothing to be ashamed of. he played a good game, his receivers sucked dick in the 4th

the throw to welker was not good. neither was the throw on 3rd down down. the drops on the final drive weren't even that bad because they were in bounds and the pats would have had to spike right after.

brady was great in the second and third quarters and average in the first and fourth.

he was getting tackled and still trying to break that tackle! you could argue that if bowman doesn't come and strip it, he DOES get out of the tackle! goldson is falling and sliding off him. doesn't change what happened but that is a fumble

Manning totally deserved it. Eli was truly Elite today. He thoroughly outplayed Brady yet again. I don't even get the Tuck argument.

he threw a lot of passes behind guys. not that they werent catchable balls, but they werent good passes.

i agree with you that this one was eli's. ive been lobbying for four years that the d-line collectively should have gotten the mvp in XLII, but giving it to tuck would have covered that base as well.

ball hits you in the hands you need to catch that. welker AND branch both dropped very catchable balls and those were the two huge drops
