Plants Vs. Zombies, and Escape Plan are confirmed at $14.99

I don't think they'll give PVZ since it technically isn't a SCE game.

PvZ is 15 bucks ? This can't be right - this would make it even more expensive than the DSiWare version let alone the iOs one. Has the price been confirmed ?

i think we should put a google doc spreadsheet into the OP for people to post their psn accounts when they get a vita. i'm down for playing with gaf as well!

i saw it at futureshop on ds (or 3ds i'm not sure) for 19.99. the game has such a massive range in pricing across platforms. it's insane.

Hmm, so it looks like Escape Plan and Super Stardust will be $14.99 each? Might be tempted to the console up, with one discounted game (which will probably be Rayman).

I'm sure this has been mentioned a billion times but has anyone verified if the 1st edition at gamestop comes with the 8gb or 4gb? My wife was told 8gb at the store but website still list 4gb.

Also, I assume this one doesnt come with a pouch or headphones?

i've known that for ages, but why would sony own a video game developer and not have it underneath the sce umbrella? has sony ever commented on this?

I'm guessing SOE's afraid of being tied to hardware. They develop for SCE's platforms but they haven't really had a success story. They tried making a series with Untold Legends but it was kind of crappy.

SOE published the PS3 and Vita versions. PS3 version was at least $15 at launch. I'm pretty certain Popcap did the DSiware one themselves, didn't they?

I have this thing pre-ordered with future shop but I still havent seen one in the store they can try at any location in Canada. Has anyone seen one in Canada?

FEB= First Edition Bundle
Comes with a 4gb, little deviants, and LE case (pouch thingy), no headphones.

The regular 3g comes with a 8gb and this one doesn't come with the pouch or headphones.

We've certainly seen Sony's first-party launch games in Canada.
And supposedly there's a demo unit set up at the Eaton Centre in Toronto.
And a local buddy of mine imported one from Japan.

There you go... lots of sightings.

I meant at a best buy or future shop or GameStop here.... And not in Toronto

1st edition has 4Gb, limited edition case, Little Deviants, 1 free month of 3G + free game upon activation. And you get it a week before others.

The standard 3G is 8Gb, one free month of 3G + free game upon activation. It's 50 bucks cheaper than above.

Cancelled my Hot Shots Golf + Wipeout pre-order.
HSG's graphics look dissapointing and Wipeout's loading times scare me.

I went with Lumines and Virtua Tennis instead. Also be picking up MLB 12 day 1 obviously.(already getting Uncharted with system).

Bah, just discovered the Vita won't charge via USB while active or in sleep mode, it has to be fully shut down to accept charge from a USB port.

It actually depends on the device it's plugged into. Some users have claimed to play for over ten hours straight while hooked into USB only

OH MAN you guys. I didn't think I would get a chance to play the Vita before launch since I live in a pretty small town. Last time I went to Gamestop there was a Vita there but it was under a display case. Well, I went today, and it was out. I practically ran to it. The thing is so awesome. It's going to take a little bit of time to get used to the little analog sticks, but they are definitely better than the 3DS's slide pad and a million times better than the PSP nub, IMO. But I couldn't believe that SCREEN!

I tried Modnation Racers first. The game has graphics very comparable to the PS3 version (couldn't really notice a difference, actually), but it ALMOST seemed like it didn't run at a solid 30 fps. I don't know for sure, though.

I then tried Uncharted. Oh my goodness. I'm so glad that I've been hearing all these people say it looks blurry and fire looks "ps1 level" (to be fair, that was one guy here that said that one), so my expectations weren't very high. I could not believe how good it looked. I showed it to my fiancee (she's a big Uncharted fan too), and she was blown away. She said it looked just like a PS3 game, and I agree. She really liked the camera part too, but I didn't try that. Having two analog sticks with the power this thing has is going to be incredible.

Lastly I tried WipEout. I knew this game would look good from the videos and impressions, but I was still super impressed, looking at it right from that OLED screen. Sense of speed was amazing, and the framerate looked rock solid. It personally didn't bother me at all that it wasn't 60 fps (not to say that wouldn't have been nice to have).

While I was playing I passed it on to some kid who came up, since it looked like he wanted to try it. I had to tell him to press the checkmark on the screen, since he apparently didn't know it was a touchscreen. As soon as it started (it was still midrace), he went "WOAH!!" It cracked me up. Then his mom came up and looked at it and she said, "Wow.."

So, yeah, I'm pretty excited. Now my plan to wait until the 22nd is going to be very, very hard.

Is that true for all USB ports or just low powered ones? I would hope a high powered one would at least charge it or do something.

2nd impressions!

Tried out Uncharted Golden Abyss demo this time around. Looks pretty good, but could they have picked a different chapter for the demo? It didn't take me very long for me to get lost and decide to bail on continue playing. And I also like to think that the lack of sound from the demo unit was also a contributing factor. I don't think visual cues on what to do next are not enough cause most times I was hardly paying that much attention to what was appearing on the right side of the screen. If the game has audio cues to accompany visual codes, I would welcome it. I don't have any real qualms with the touch screen at the moment, but I do wonder how many touch screen related actions I'll have to do

This might've been answered already, but I can't seem to find it. I'd love for certain launch games to be there with me at all times, particularly Wipeout and Everybody's Golf. Has it been confirmed all (or at least these two) titles will be available as a download at launch?

Yep. It's part of the policy.

According to the BestBuy description, the official cradle can charge Vita while the latter plays video. So it should be possible to charge Vita via the USB port while it's on.

All I know is that it won't charge off my laptop's USB unless the Vita is completely turned off. I'll see if it works with the PS3, but as the charging cable is so small the distance between the PS3 and couch kinda defeats the point of wanting to play while it's charging.

Every single game that will ever be released for Vita will be on PSN

So many people proclaiming their switch to the 3G model. Sticking to Wi-Fi here. Mark my words, you all will be kicking yourselves down the line when you see what a waste it was :)

Best to put that extra $50 towards a larger memory card, IMO.

I decided to pre-order Army Corps of Hell. Sad to see it selling so poorly on amazon.

Sorry guys. I'm not trolling, I just hate to see my fellow gamers deluding themselves over how potentially useful the 3G will be in terms of its usefulness in actual games. I agree that if you have the extra $$$, and you want the 3G "just in case", I wouldn't fault anyone for spending their cash how they see fit. But a lot of posters here are making comments about their Vita budgets, yet some are still getting the 3G model, and I can only wonder... why? In what scenario are you going to want to pay $15/mo for 250mb of data that you have to use within 30 days... and you are paying a $50 premium just to have that opportunity... it baffles me!

I wonder how many of you getting a 3G Vita do not have a smart phone or other cell phone already? That would at least make some sense to me...

If I'm wrong about 3G I promise, I *will* eat my words on this matter. In any case I'm just glad other people are as excited about the Vita platform as I am... it is everything I've ever wanted in a handheld.

I'm fortunate enough that I can just say sod the expense and get both. However I think the fact that the 3G is locked to AT&T in the US hinders its appeal somewhat on that continent. In the UK I can get a small data plan for £5 a month if I want it since the 3G is not locked to one provider here.

The offer of Wipeout for free also helps the EU bundle over the US bundle which I think gets just a $10 game.

My DHD has a 3gb a month data plan and I use barely 500mb a month of it, but similarly I'm not going to enable tethering all the time as the battery will get drained quickly. I'm also not going to keep faffing about turning tethering in and off to do things. With the 3G version of the Vita I can play the game on the train, get the new ghosts or use near or whatever it is that I'm doing and when the battery dies my phone will still be able to call people. If I find I don;t use the 3G options then fine, it's cost me about £35 extra but at least I have the option.

Plus I hope that some kind of navigation app appears. I want the Vita as my Sat Nav and GPS makes that better too.

PlayStation Vita press kits come in a The Very Hungry Caterpillar-like book: How Cute

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is the greatest book in the world, do not dis.

more replies to come, I've still got 300 posts to read from when I went to bed this morning lol.

Any indications on how much Super Stardust HD will be on the PSN at launch? (UK £)

I'm fairly certain it'll be £10. That's only speculation, but it's fairly good speculation.

Hey guys this question may have already been asked but when using remote play to play a ps3 game such as uncharted 2, how does one use the L2 and R2 triggers and the L3 R3 buttons? Do you get to assign them?

Cool. I just had a stick and a hoop!

U2 doesn't support RemotePlay officially unless you use a CFW for your PS3.

Damn, Amazon DE is running a nice promotion (same as UK, but less costly in EUR):

PSVita Wi-Fi
8GB Card
Pre-order box - headset + something
15EUR off on one game (I think all launch games are applicable)

TOTAL: 273,95EUR

TEMPTED LIKE HELL!!!

Amazon france is doing that all for 229EUR....

European PS Vita Unboxing.

Weren't we supposed to get a bunch of AR cards with our Vita's?

That's a Demo unit to show in the store

I don't know why SCEA is so quiet on the digital front. We are almost one week from launch. In every single Vita game Playstation Blog post people are asking about the digital version and Rubenstein constantly responds Sony has nothing to announce yet on the digital front. We know every game is coming to PSN, so what is with the hold up?

From the manual:

You can also charge your system by connecting it to a USB device such as a computer using the USB cable. When charging your system using a USB device, turn the power off completely. You cannot charge your system using a USB device while the system is in standby mode. To turn the power off completely, press and hold the power button for two seconds and then tap [Power Off] on the screen that appears.

.

I'd be up for that - I'm having to start using a local UK account for the first time, just so I can play games properly (stupid sony). Usual PSN account is mrklaw, Vita one is KlawUK

someone asked for impressions on loading times for HSG. Not sure of exact timings, but it was never a chore to wait. A short delay when starting a game, but between holes there is no delay at all

I'm sure they're quiet because they don't want any more pre-launch backlash.

I'm hoping we finally get word on this from the Official Blogcast (Thursday evening?), when they typically talk about the next week's PSN releases. Since a good chunk of the Vita stuff is suppose to be up on the 14th, they better talk about it! Watch em list out what games will be there, but not announce pricing until Tuesday! >:(

Ok, according to that page, charging from the power adaptor (also via the same USB port) will allow you to play at the same time.

Pricing should be this week:

Looking forward to the Vita, Do u know when u will confirm the PSN prices for the Vita games in comparison to the retail copies?
