Oh! Looks like the university focuses on second language teaching? Mine does too, actually. Which is why I haven't been trying to go there (I might have, despite the expense, if the program looked like something I might be able to use.) I'm more interested in historical research than practical applications :<

Few maniacs aside I think we have come very far as a society when it comes to animal cruelty.

Sounds like my linguistic interests are completely opposite :O I'm totally into how language changes over time, especially when languages connect and mix together (or what happens after they separate.)
I don't think that we've become worse. Again, logic does not come into this.
Oh she is way into that as well, that's why she told me she is very undecided. On the one hand she is mesmerized by how language evolves over time, on the other she is very interested in how the study of language as it currently sits is going to be a driving factor in the new global economy.

I went to our local SPCA today to ask about jobs since I'm slowly working towards getting a vet degree. So many cute kitties ;_;. Two of them started wrestling and I almost collapsed from cuteness ;^;.
