In less than 24 hours :D.

This is so awesome.

They are going to have to translate the game into 35 different languages just so they can spend all of the money :lol

AND LIKE A BAT OUT OF HEEEEELL I'LL BE GOOOOOONE WHEN THE MOOOOORRRRNING COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMES!

I had to change my avatar just for this occasion, so I can reference Buckaroo Banzai while Tim and Ron go berserk at the office!

This is absolutely phenomenal, well done Double Fine.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Developing in the open is going to be really tough I think. I have to say I'd rather not see how the games I play are made.

What are the rules regarding what Double Fine have to do with the extra money?

Anyone have any clue what kind of cut Kickstarter pulls out for fees and shit?

Only ~26,000 people required, up front, to fund a $1,000,000 game budget.

This all just feels a little weird to me. So if this game makes massive profits, none of the kickstart "investors" get any dividends, right? I mean, this is a commercial endeavour from an existing entity, right?

I contributed just as it went over the million. Can't wait to see the outcome of this.

I bought Psychonauts very cheaply and played the game to its conclusion. Its a work of joy that game, the Godzilla, RISK, bull-chase and phantom-of-the-theatre levels in the second half are incredibly well realised with varied stories, art, music and gamplay styles.

The "Milkman" level is one of the most stunningly surreal and funny concepts in the entirety of gaming! That segment is just long enough to keep you begging for more.

Contributing to this project leaves me satisfied, as I feel that I am thanking them properly for Psychonauts. If we get a game out of it that's comparably good then I'll be thrilled.

We get to make history and receive cool incentives for backing the project. Who needs profit when we get an inside look at the game's development and some of the crazy shenanigans that take place at Double Fine routinely?
