I completely agree, I haven't played UC3 yet but if I had I am sure I would not want to play Golden Abyss at this point. UC3 should have been released in November 2012 instead.
Any talk of preorders from people here is really just anecdotal. We really won't know how well the launch does until the NPDs I think.

Near launch I'm getting Gravity Rush and a few more launch titles as they drop in price (Wipeout 2048, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and maybe Virtua Tennis 4). For the rest of the year I'm planning on getting Dragon's Crown, Persona 4: The Golden, Ys IV: Celceta, Sea of Trees, the enhanced version of The Legend of Heroes (Zero no Kiseki) if it gets a translation, Final Fantasy X HD, Little Kings Story and perhaps a FPS now that there are two analog sticks.

Gravity Rush. Since I saw the damn demo I've been wanting to play the game. Day 1 for shure.
This is not really a big deal in this use case. What would happen here is that you would think, "hrm, I wonder what my friends are playing," you would press the PS button to jump out to the OS, which suspends the game and removes any power restrictions, then you would launch the friends app which would reconnect the network and sign into PSN. The network connection would be disabled again when you resume your game.
I don't think you get friend sign in messages on the Vita, even when the network is not disabled.

Yep. I've seen friends notifications popping up in some YT videos.
Hope there's some way to turn off ALL Notifications, or at least have it patched in. Couldn't find anything in the online Vita manual about it, and there's some games I don't want trophies popping up in. Then again, with how big the notification is I might not want them in any game period, just look over the list out of curiosity afterwards to see what I got.
Well, I've been playing on my Japanese alt account up until a few days ago, so I guess that is why I never noticed

Me and my friend earlier tonight decided on just that- and after ordering 2 boxes in the drive thru, the girl gave us our food in bags- "where are the boxes? How do we win vitas?" we said- They ran out of the boxes/entry codes and she said other locations were running out as well--

It's kinda frustrating to me that Uncharted is probably gonna be Vita's biggest selling launch title. All that's gonna do is encourage and tell Sony that $50 is alright for Vita games. I'm still not quite ok with that, especially when they flip flopped weeks before release on the retail prices of other games like Wipeout, and Hot Shots Golf.
You definitely get friend sign in messages on the Vita.
It's kind of annoying me because it fills up the activity list thingy on the top right.
And it makes my PS button thingy flash blue once in a while. It tricks me into believing that my download is complete. But nooooo. Some jerk just signed in.
True, but I'd like the opposite... I want my PS3 amigos to see me playing a Vita game. That is the way things spread. "Oh, aro52 is playing a Vita game?! I better look into this Vita contraption!"
The Kindle Fire doesn't use glass, let alone Gorilla Glass. It's a specially treated plastic, similar to the descriptions of the Vita screen. Not as good as glass, but better than say, the PSP.
Yes, but that is a PS3 problem, and hopefully something that Sony fixes sooner rather than later...

I wonder why HSG and Wipeout are on the US PSN store, but Uncharted isn't. Maybe I just missed it.
People saw it earlier, so unless they're taking them down only to put them back up IN TWO DAYS you must've missed it.

I was wondering, were u able to check if someone was playing with his/her PSP? I never had a PSP so I honestly don't know.
The worst thing to happen to physical aesthetics since lime green cases!Did anyone get both WipEout 2048 and Uncharted Golden Abyss retail? Did you notice that the blue of the VITA logo on there is actually like a light blue on WipEout, but a dark blue on Uncharted?
It's driving me nuts! Plus, the numbers at the bottom of the sticker has a black backround on WipEout, but a white backround on Uncharted! What what!?!?!

So the network is completely disabled (no friends list etc) in Uncharted, Lord of Apocalypse, etc. even when the Vita is plugged in the charger?

I believe all that's needed to fix that is a patch. The developers would probably have to individually patch their games though. I don't think it's something Sony can force through firmware.

So based on this we know that nobody's bothering to review BlazBlue, Rayman Origins, Lumines and Virtua Tennis. That's too bad.
I remember reading that some games had a later embargo, so it could be because of that.
