Why do I keep getting spoiled on what kind of puzzles I will work on in the future? However, I just started the Pikmin one yesterdaygoddamn, why am i working on some dumb kirby and never-ending 3D land pictures instead of that?

hnnnnggghh
What if Pikmin 3 had a claymation art & animation style?
I really like that Wii U box templates, in which you don't have a big invasive logo , who create them?
Too bad this won't happen. The logo must be big and easily noticeable, and it's actually a good thing (helps customers pick up the right version).I really like that Wii U box templates, in which you don't have a big invasive logo , who create them?
goddamn, why am i working on some dumb kirby and never-ending 3D land pictures instead of that?
I did.
but why are your reflections B&W?
Also not the biggest fan to be honest. the console name doesn't stand out and needs to in a store competing with other consoles.

You tease!Believe, GAF.

Eh, why not... (didn't actually mean to do thatUsed the same template for the first one for the second, so the mistake carried through...)
And yeah, I can see some people's problems with the lack of an obvious logo, and indeed it could work against Nintendo's favour, but I think it's a refreshing take on box art - a cleaner, minimal design, that has a focus solely on the game and thus gives a better impression on what it's about. Box colours could help express this.
Only for the characters please! The woods/gardens should look as realistic as possible.
It's alrightaw, my bad if i spoiled one of em there. i thought it was pretty common but you never know, ive yet to see this pikmin one obviously!
Bare minimum for my day 1 purchase: Just show the system at E3 with a first party game that is not a NSMB.But getting back on topic, what is the bare minimum it would take for you guys and gals to be there on day 1 for the Wii U? What are your potential deal breakers? Is there anything that has to be there in order to convince you to pick it up this year?
The curse is lifted! I return from exile.

Yeah, love it. Please be true.Uncanny Pikmin
Price, and a first-party launch title. If it's over $350 I'll wait. I know whatever they've got cooking will eventually lull me into the machine but I'd like something to play day one. I could definitely live with some pre-installed mini-games provided that they're multi-player.But getting back on topic, what is the bare minimum it would take for you guys and gals to be there on day 1 for the Wii U? Watching this board during my ban was excruciating. It's like a whole swarm of juniors just came pouring out of the woodwork. Not that that juniors are inherently poor posters, I was a junior not too long ago myself, but there does seem to be a huge influx out of nowhere.
Over the last two weeks, I've come to two conclusions. First is that people on gaf tend to passionately believe that their personal tastes and preferences regarding their gaming hobby is truly indicative of the whims of the industry as a whole. This is in spite of the upswing of mobile gaming, kinect, the wii, and casual gaming at large. The second is that most people will also tend to believe whatever the hell they want to believe, going so far as clinging to whatever baseless scraps and offhand comments they can in order to continue holding fast to their gaming worldview. Some even selectively misconstrue existing info to argue on behalf of a specific company while being completely oblivious to what they're doing. And I'm not saying this in order to imply this thread is some bastion of reason and logic either.

Bare minimum for my day 1 purchase: Just show the system at E3 with a first party game that is not a NSMB.
Deal breaker: no good games at launch, $400+, paying for online multiplayer.
Probably 95% chance I'll get this at launch, unless my money saved up for it somehow dissipates.
I just despise paying for online multiplayer because it really alienates people like me who would rather use that $40-60 subscription to buy another game. I understand how many devs get lazy with online, but imagine having to pay for online Smash. This is the reason why I vowed not to buy another Microsoft console, because I couldn't play online for free.As long as it's HD and it plays Nintendo games (and as long as there are games I want to play at launch and beyond), I will be there, Day 1. Even if it's 360 v1.4 as far as specs go. And I don't give the slightest damn about online "features;" the obsession with online and the idea that many developers use it as a crutch when justifying a gimped single-player mode is downright annoying.

I always thought it would be benefical to developers if Nintendo staffed a group of engineers whose sole purpose was to assist with popular middleware solutions and Wii U. If there was any shred of truth to Metroid Prime having unreal 2 at it's core,
In the case of BioShock Infinite, it's equally if not more a case of Irrational gutting and replacing the vast majority of the engine.

Kid Icarus will probably be a good indication of what Smash online is going to have at the bare minimum.Agreed. I don't even like the temptation being there for developers. And that includes Nintendo, as much as I might adore 'em.
Online for Smash would set me into rage mode. I can feel my blood pressure going up thinking about it.
Welcome back Guek! It's like you've had en epiphany in your absence...
"Only" three months and three weeks till E3.
A huge portion of GAF suffers for deep cognitive bias. Usually stemming from childhood associations with videogames and videogame manufacturers. Some of us are getting better as we become introspective about our feeling on the situation. But some are the "Westboro Baptist Church" of videogaming.Over the last two weeks, I've come to two conclusions. If they announced that there would be no Mario, no Metroid, and No Zelda games for the system - EVER, I would probably not pick up at launch. As things are, I'll pick up the system sheerly on anticipation of these titles and hopefully this will be a significant mid-generation upgrade that I'll be able to pick up all my multiplats on it and have the best experience. But getting back on topic, what is the bare minimum it would take for you guys and gals to be there on day 1 for the Wii U? This is such a narrow-minded measurement of value. What if it's <$299 but runs UE4 without a problem?I havent day one'd a Nintendo home console since the N64 and while I'm not expecting to with the Wii U its the most interested I've been to do so since since the N64. What I need to be a day 1 or thereabout buyer:
1. A new 2D single player Super Mario that is deeper than NSMB Wii. Good launch lineup.
2. A much improved online system. SMK7 like communities for all games. Account based system where your E-store purchases are linked.
3. UE4 capable. Major third parties on board with major AAA games announced and dated.
4. If its $299 or less I won't buy because it conveys that tech wise its nothing to write home about.
5. What apps are shown at E3. What type of connectivity with the 3DS.
Based on Nintendo's response to those five points will determine when I will pick up the Wii U.
If it's 299 or less I'd yell and scream and flow tears of happiness.
honestly, I'd pay 299 or less and be happy thinking of it as a nintendo HD box and nothing more lol. Especially if it's LESS than 299. Realistically though I'm still expecting 349.99, 299 is a pipe dream and would be sold at a big loss I would imagine....and there would go any hopes of it being more powerful than the Xbox 360.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot about Miyamoto's term for the screen. I think I'm going to start using it now.Nintendo moving into HD is exciting and the Subscreen (Miyamoto's word, not mine) really has me buzzed for the system to no end.
More like 99% of people in general.A huge portion of GAF suffers for deep cognitive bias.
