Probably, but I don't think Bethesda would take the time to do it. At least not for a long time. They've probably got DLC to worry about.

I'd double dip in an instant on Skyrim to play it on the go. Even Oblivion or Morrowind would be great.

My pre order price has been lowered ^_^

Vita 3G + FIFA Football + 8GB Memory Card + preorder pack (£292.99)
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (£37.90)

I'll pay the £5 top-up to get Wipeout (£5)
Escape Plan using the voucher (£4.99)

Total: £340.88

I'll also look to get a 32GB card once they come out in the EU (and drop in price).

Do we have any recent gameplay video for it?

EDIT: I've found a video review

that loading time!

looks like a fairly basic game, reflecting the price. I'd have liked a more zoomed in view (car stuck in the centre wastes a lot of space behind the car), but I'm sure it'll be a fun distraction, and I'm curious about the PS3 version too

I'm currently at:

WiFi Vita
8GB Memory Card
Rayman Origins
Wipeout 2048
Everybodys Golf

£294

Happy with that so far. Will also buy Super Stardust and maybe Motorstorm, and also tempted to buy UMvC3 and a case of some description. Even if i do, a sub £350 launch is pretty reasonable to me.

No chance of early bundles or broken street dates in the UK though so this thread is going to become even harder to read tomorrow.

Personally I wouldn't buy a game like Skyrim on a portable if it was on the PC... I wouldn't even buy it on a console. The only RPGs I would buy on a portable are exclusives.

I'm surprised so many people seem to be buying Lumines on cart instead of PSN, I'd think it's the kind of thing you'd want on there all the time.

Some of you are going all out for your Vita purchase! I'm going to keep it basic with the FEB and just one game for now. I just want to mess around with the all the features and apps.

Think I might be an extra 4gb card to keep us store purchases on there and use my us account on it. It's a pity there's no hot swapping and you have to factory reset.

Me being a uk user I really want psp ultimate ghouls n goblins but it's only on the us store. I also want resi evil2 (psone) but again that's only on the us store.

revised my Vita order slightly...

16GB card +
Fifa 2012 (£64.94)
Everybody's Golf (£16.00)
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (£18.50)

Decided not to get Ridge Racer as I won't be able to play all these games at once
Can I ask where you got these at the prices above? Especially Wipeout and Everybody's Golf, they're great prices.

Checked out some more vids and think Ill also add Rayman and Motorstorm RC to my day one pickups. That makes it

  • Uncharted
  • Wipeout
  • Super Stardust Delta
  • Escape Plan
  • Rayman
  • Motorstorm RC

With The Show, Gravity and a cheaper Lumines in a month or two. Hyped. Have a great launch everybody

You know what, as much as I am hyped for Vita, it's a perfect example of how much sony still FUCKING SUCK at digital marketing.

Why is there no vita section full of trailers and previews on the uk ps store?

Why isn't there a bunch of vita avatars (ya'know for viral marketing purposes?)

Why aren't there Vita themes and wallpapers, so people see them on their mates PS3's?

Why isn't there an 'inside vita app' on the XMB, filled with all the inside vita content that's on SCEE's disgusting-looking, OTT website?

These are just tiny examples.

Also, what's the appeal with HSG? Never tried it.

I find golf boring
I find tennis boring
I dislike golf games a la Tiger Woods
I like tennis games a la Virtua Tennis or Top Spin
I LOVE Hot Shot Golf series, and spent 40+ hours on the psp iteration (skipped ps3 one)
The same happened with Hot Shot Tennis

It's like arcade but deep, it's like goofy but adorable, they fit perfectly the handheld/mobile paradigms.
Those are very good GAMES.

Fine, demo it is then.

Until 5 minutes a go I had little interest in Motorstorm RC, I hadn't heard much about it and dismissed it as some gimicky tech demo with maybe one track. Then I just read the PS Blog entry for it and two things triggered my interest

  • Four Classic Locations, 16 Unique Tracks
  • Pay Once, Get Both

The second makes it a day one purchase for me, I hope this becomes a trend for Vita releases, I think Sony are on to a winner if they do more of that.

On another point, has there been any confirmation of price for digital copies of games for the UK PS Store? I have Everybody's Golf on pre-order but would prefer to have it on my device constantly, if it is a similar price I will cancel my pre-order and go digital.

Have they actually gone back to the company that made Double Life for them or are they just really fucking good at emulating them now? That was excellent. I'm not sure how well it'll work as an advert, but it's a really good short.
I'm pretty sure SCEE used TBWA back then and still do to this day. It's just that the agency and Sony's choices have been hit and miss in the interim. (Thumb penis... wtf?)

This looks good though.

So I am assuming for those of us with the free PSN game upon data activation that we can opt out of auto renew immediately; since there is no contract needed?

Ordered the FEB but have no intention of having 3G activated until I see how often I will be traveling with work this year.

Cradle and Lumines on the way! Ordered Katamari, now just to pull the trigger on HSG. Or Shinobido. Waiting for reviews. lol

You know, Sony should have been smart here and added the ability to register your game cart for your SEN account. How awesome would it be to have all your physical media tied to your digital account aswell.

Yes I'm ignoring the exploits this would lead to, but how awesome would it be to buy the game cart at retail, register it via SEN and have the ability to download those games you don't want to use the cart with.

i really can't wait to get my hands on one of these things.

so many reasons, but yeh ...just playing with ICS on my galaxy s2, flicking through the app draw ...i fucking LOVE OLED ..

and 5 inches of it? hell yes. dreaming of a full 10inch tab, or a tv even ...but just that amazing quality of not being able to tell some times where the screen ends and the bezel starts .... PERFECT blacks, so awesome.

so glad sony made the right call on the screen tech. thats what i love about playstation brand ..they go all out when it comes to hardware.

Vita buyers: What's the main reason you're getting one? I'm really looking for any good reason to pull the trigger.

pretty simple: i commute alot, and the psp was my goto handheld for the last couple of years. VITA is here, and with developer's focus shifting from PSP to VITA, i want to be there when the latest installments arrive.

It's possible if the cart was rendered useless while the download version was activated. So if you sell the cart after registering it, then your download will not work if some guy who bought your cart re-activated it.

That would be nice.

Everyone would be happy, retailers would have a reason to exist, customers would be given flexibility and could re-sell their games (if they wanted). I can't see any company allowing this, just because it almost seems too logical and consumer friendly.

They will be fine. But the VIP doesn't have any dedicated slots to hold anything. The VIP is the glasses case style one that just holds the vita and has room inside for stuff but no dedicated slots. Thrustmaster also sell an Uncharted one and a black on which is identical to the uncharted one which both have cut outs for carts.

As I said, the carts will be fine in the VIP on their own, but I don't want them sliding around and being prone to falling out when I open the case. That's why I ordered the little headphone pouch to put them all in. They all stay together and I'll have leather sliding over the screen rather than plastic.

The disabled network thing is nothing to do with the hardware not being capable. Devs disabled it to save battery. That shuuld be an option and I hope it gets patched into every game that does it.

And it does this even while charging? That's really fucking weird. Is it possible that the system can't maintain charging while these games are running and that's why they disable the network? Or is it simply that they didn't think about someone playing while charging?

Does anyone knows the download size of PSN games like Motorstorm RC? Trying to decide if I should keep the 8GB memory card I have on order or if I should upgrade to a 16GB.

I won't download VITA or PSP games, only PSN games.
