JennY Hyun (not the songwriter for Girls Generation) does not like black people

What the hell are you talking about, you get the fuck out of here. I was pointing out how stupid it is that some nobody gets more reaction for being an idiot, than Floyd Money Mayweather, the biggest name in boxing.

Ok so you agree with what I said. Good to know. You can't see the difference.

Why is this thread so long?

koreans are racist.

Trying to make it twice as long as the Mayweather thread, so Filler can cry more.

Well of course some nobody is going to get more of a reaction in the "Some Nobody is Racist" thread. Duh.

If you want to get a reaction against Floyd Mayweather in a thread, go create one.

You see no difference in calling someone yellow, requesting that they cook their stereotypical food, and eat something that they stereotypically eat and calling someone a nigger, calling the whole culture ugly and stupid, calling someone UNHUMAN.. so on and so on. Get the fuck out of here with that noise.

Yea, got caught up trying too hard to be clever. Nowhere near what this woman is saying.

This. Culinary references are racist? So the giantbombcast is basically the KKK since they constantly yell pizza/pasta comments at Vinny?

Never understood people upset about culinary racist jokes.

Sushi? If fresh it's awesome.
Fried Chicken/corn bread? Awesome!
etc.

Only one that I can think of that is negative is Americans - fast food but that is due to the reality of our obese country that has all sorts of people mixed into the fat pile.

Not a member.

Sooyoung, actually of SNSD, has mentioned before that she loves black men.

I'm pretty sure her script writer told her to say that. Whatever gets you more fans and all.

As for the topic on hand, it's sad that people feel such strong hatred towards another race in this day and age.

In their defense there is a 100% difference between thinking a race is subhuman and not being attracted to their genetic features.

I'm mostly Greek, but I find incredibly pale people almost always unattractive outside a few red heads. This make me racist?
You're comparing complexion to a woman's thoughts on black women. Besides, I'm sure Taeyeon isn't into women so this isn't about attraction. It's pretty clear that she has a prejudicial bias against the physical looks of black women. So while I agree there's a difference between the person in the OP and Taeyeon, the latter still spouted prejudicial beliefs.

You won't get much of a reaction in a Floyd Mayweather thread since we're used to him saying dumb shit.

Was part of his quote not referring to black people doing it every night?
So we are going to dissect this down to a single statistic? If you want to do that there is no way we can have a real discussion about this.

Lets be real. A lot of the media fervor is less about points scored and more about his race/background/persona. Why do people have a problem admitting this? The guy is a diamond in the rough.

There is nothing wrong with this at all. He deserves all the shine he gets.

Mayweather is a troll who will say random shit to get people like you mad/talking about boxing since him being a fool is basically the only time Boxing gets any attention outside of the core fanbase.

I'm convinced if Mayweather was white he would throw the n word out there non stop just to get the press.

How about the people that pay to watch his dumbass fight? or the boxing commissions that give him a licence to box in their states? The media and public at large were more than happy to just sweep it all under the rug after he "apologized". Had pressure been put on, the same way it was for idiots like Don Imus, maybe he doesn't have such an easy time getting approved the next time around.

But the point is the media called him out of it. He's been called out on everything he says. While people are acting like this girl here is getting more criticism because ONE thread on ONE message board is about her

But the thing is, she didn't get more of a reaction.

I wouldn't say all Koreans, but in general there are a lot of Asians who do look at blacks as being inferior. While the US and other countries have gone through various levels of integration and acceptance there are asian countries that still propagate racist stereotyping or caricatures of black people as humor and don't bat an eye. I used to argue they didn't know better, or that they were familiar with the stereotypes the same way we in America or Europe might be. But ehh...they know and don't give a shit.

There already was one, it didn't get half as many replies.

No need to dissect anything. Half his statement was correct and the other half is false. There are many better PGs at the moment but if he came along and averaged 10 a game it would be a non story. You are diminishing his record breaking accomplishments.

The problem is you hold GAF on some higher plane than that of the media.

.........................................................................Haven't seen a single person defend this.

And just because you get a boner from ponies doesn't make watching that awful show okay.

If Mayweather was white and used the n word, he wouldn't have a career anymore.

How am I diminishing his accomplishments?

The media would talk about him no matter what his background is. They talk about him more because he is asian, from harvard, and used to sleep on his brother's couch.

He is a great player. I am not diminishing anything.

You are spinning my comments.

Won't be surprise if true. SNSD are making a push in the U.S. Having a song writer like her will cause a backlash.

The racist girl wrote one song for them on their first album 5 years ago. There's been 4 albums released since then without any songwriting from her. So it really didn't change anything.

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise."

You said this is one of the least ridiculous comments he has said. 1) All the hype is not because he is asian. It added to a kid lighting it up in NY who would have been getting mad press either way. 2) His 2nd statement is 100% false.

Seems like you have some angst against black people. Who hurt you?

Yes he would not have the same hype level. I don't think thats any surprise at all. We will have to agree to disagree. Tiger Woods would not have the same hype level if he were white. Why is this a hard sell for you?

Notice that the link about Taeyeon that was posted earlier does not have links to sources, audio clips, or translation with her original words at all. The comment that she actually made was mistranslated, mutated, and passed around until it became the ridiculous "translation" that is featured on that page.

lol nice edit :>

Well it is true but I didn't want to bring in how racist Boxing was and how it still lingers to this day. Think about the hype around Yuri Foreman and him being the first Jewish person since Barney Ross. But that is another thread for another time.

Race has always been somewhat of a big deal in not only sports, but many areas, especially when an underrepresented minority excels. I don't think point that out is necessarily racist, anymore than pointing out that a lot of Tiger Wood's early press was because he was not only good but black/asian. Same with the William's sisters. Same with Obama. This isn't saying they don't have the skills to warrant the attention but denying their race is part of the reason is a bit naive

There are certainly underlining racial tones in SOME of the Lin praise, just as there was with Tim Tebow. White players are often hailed for being smart or intelligent, or as perfect team mates. In both cases we've seen people pop up and argue these players are refreshing because they aren't thugs, are smart, "play the right way" etc etc etc.

But there are also clear, overt racial slurs being thrown at Lin, some of which are even meant to be positive ("Yellow Mamba").

In terms of Mayweather, his racism is well documented. Although I'd snidely point out a black player who went to a big school, was undrafted, rode the bench, then suddenly became a star would certainly be news if he had been adopted by a white family as a kid. There would be a blockbuster Oscar bait film in production too.

Dude, Mayweather said all the hype is because he is asian.
Extravagant or intensive publicity or promotion
- she relied on hype and headlines to stoke up interest in her music

Yeah there would most likely be no extravagant or extensive promotion. There would be some baseline media attention.

I like Jeremy Lin. I want to see the knicks go all the way. I'm a fan of underdogs. Don't beat me.

Edit: i had to look up hype because i was not sure if it was a relational term or not. Lack of hype does not mean lack of promotion it just means lack of extensive and extravagant promotion

The guy's comment about Lin was dumb too, though not as stupid as this girl's tirade against black people. But going by what others have said about his comments about others, then he is also a grade A douche.
