They can become a really tough playoff team by the end of the year, they might not be on the level of OKC or Chicago but they can push a good team hard like Memphis did last year and come into next year, for once, with some consistency in the roster and continue to get better. I'm not going to say it's impossible for them to go on a magical playoff push like the Cardinals or Giants did this year, but in all seriousness. They can get damn good. People seem to love talking shit to each other on this board and it's pretty sad.
I don't think the fault rests solely on Carmelo but he didn't look like himself today. From the start he was missing easy layups that maybe could have got him in rhythm. That late layup he was fouled though. Lin had another really strong game stats wise, maybe the best balanced game he had, but he really wasn't attacking the basket and seemed like he wanted to defer to Melo and Stat late in the game.
