Tell me that will be changed when the game releases!
Doubt it, it's set up so you only adjust the privacy of the game you're playing (invite only / friend list can join anytime / public game).

Nah. Seems like a pretty wide-spread issue though judging by the forums. Just unlucky I guess!
Congrats to all the new guys who just got in. Have fun and feel free to join us here as we continue to bitch about the game or defend it. Lol.![]()
Just a reminder.
Just a reminder.
You are all welcome!Niiiice.
WTF is this shit, how can they seriously think this is better than the previous interface, with all the skills in one window. Unbelievable. So it seems that they've changed the skill-calculator on the website to better match the one that is in-game.
Ewwwwww.
:/

Atleast its better than the CVG facebook giveaway imo.
You are all welcome!
I've been slowly keeping track of the thread for new Battletag posts, just let me know if I miss any of you and I'll update the list.
We're still giving away beta keys, 50 each day for the next 9 days -we gave away 50 yesterday.
It would be so nice if Blizzard could get the Friends list working, and also not wipe your Friends list every single time the beta gets patched.
It would also be nice if they could fix the bug that stops your key bindings and game options from wiping every time you exit the game...
I am sure they have in house, beta is beta so it's not an issue to them I guess.
Whaaat? How does playing with friends work?you can't just create a named passworded game and tell people what the name and password are anymore like in D2.

What's the point of setting a quest? I guess a friends only game is sorta like a private one with pw? We'll never be able to meet friends of friends though....you invite them into a party and start the quest you want to play.
Or you open a game (friends only or public) and then they join into your game.
My first beta impressions:
- like tearing the seal off a new game
- like the smell of a new book you open for the first time
- etc
Everything is just so damn crisp... Barb felt a lot more powerful than the wizard though.
The first few skills for the wizard were just lame.
I felt like Harry potter with that wand and the spell that came with it.
I used to love being a sorc in d2... Now im definitely loving the barb.
Smashing shit just feel powerful as hell.
If you play with them through a friends game etc. they will be in your recent players list in which case you can simply add them to your friends list. Additionally you have the option to turn on group members when in chat channels and can easily invite from there as well. What's the point of setting a quest? Man Blizzard just seems to be fucking everything UI-wise

The Arcane Orb is bullshit.
It is like what would happen if we would be allowed to level up as a Frozen Orb sorceress, just slightly less gorgeous.
Nothing survives that. Nothing. Rare mobs? 3 orb+1-2 missile. Everything else? 1 or 2 orb max. Bullshit.
If I level a sorcerer, I will not use that skill too much, or I will change the rune every time I get the chance, as it makes things boring. WTB Reflect Elemental Damage groups for one-shotting myself![]()
Yeah, but you're seriously overgeared for the content, so until your playing retail you won't really know how it's going to perform in general. But yeah, in the beta it's like a win button.
Not getting an invite is killing me... Is there anything I can do to increase my chances? Do I need to have an active wow sub?

Not overgeared. But overskilled.
It's not that the opposition is that much weaker than in DII, it's just that with the current available skills and resource regeneration, you're so much more powerful than you ever were early on in DII.

This is true, although I think I'm fine with it for Normal. That is, as long as the difficulty ramps up and becomes challenging in Nightmare. And as long as Hell makes us think about every step we take and play carefully or we die. And of course, as long as Inferno becomes an entire zone that is a wall to wall slugfest of anger and destruction and hordes upon hordes of enemies on the level of Baal's Throne Room minion waves at the end of Diablo II's Hell difficulty. Yeah, as long as it's like that, I'm fine with casually overpowering Normal Act I.
Well then you may as well call it "Over-weaponed" because that is the serious contributer to the ability being overpowered. I'm not saying it isn't a powerful ability, but dont put on any gear and keep the same weapon you start with and take your lvl 13 to the final quest in beta.
I feel like first half of Diablo II Act1 had only ONE monster that could "hurt" you (and that was Griswold), beside that, only the Minotaur Groups, the elite archer groups in dungeons and Andariel was what really threatened anyone - and we have yet to see the same threatening equivalent to pop up in D3. The mob where you go and say "hm, let ust play this smart".
Since we've seen just a small part of Act 1, it's possible that it gets a little harder. You'd hope so at least.

God Damn.
Vox Games posts keys again and they're all gone within 2 minutes. Tried about a dozen myself.

We'll have exciting news to share in the coming weeks regarding Diablo III's release date
It's mind boggling. Why do I have to scroll. It's fucking terrible. I don't say that about pretty much anything. It's just so awful. What's baffling to me, is that they went from a skill UI with multiple tabs and necessary scrolling (Skill Tree and Skill Points UI, circa 2008-2010 ish), to a UI that has everything on one page (Skills UI circa 2010-2011), back to a UI with multiple tabs and necessary scrolling (now).
In a vacuum, I'd say that things like this just happen, but with all the other things they've iterated, re-iterated, and de-iterated, it's like they can't make up their minds or something.
If you get a code you instantly get to play. After you download the client. So if you get a code, you can start the fun right away ? Just open pre-orders now and give me a code already Blizzard![]()
That's simply a result of the way DPS is calculated. (Semantics).
Maybe it was the anti-hype, but before I got the beta, all I could hear was how HORRIBLE the new UI is, with the usual hyperbole bullshit, which led to the beta experience where I had zero issues with it. The spellbook approach could have worked better (even with different "tabs", but better aligned), but this can work as well. There is not that much hassle with it, imho.
Luckily, if we go with WoW, the interface can easily change from time to time, and if enough people complain about it, it might be patched to a better one.

So you've never experienced the drag-and-drop, right-click-set, all skills on one page UI previous to patch 13?

I have not. Guess I am lucky then![]()
