iPads aren't sim-locked. They take any sim that fits (micro sim, I think).

So a UK SIM will work in a US model and vice versa? What about a Japanese 3G SIM?

I mean look at the thing... it changes only the display... and if it weren't for it they wouldn't even changed the graphic processor...

Same design
Same battery time
Same CPU
Same shitty front camera (the only one that matters)
No stereo speakers
No revolutionary thing whatsoever to excuse all the above
Better display
Better rear camera

They didn't even gave a name for this thing...
Need to wait another year to see something good...

I never really expected Apple to use pentile.

I would have been surprised. They usually aren't one for compromises, and pentile is a compromise technology. I think the stuff looks pretty awful in all of the Android phones I've seen that use it.

I'm a bit excited to get my wife an Ipad 2 at reduced cost now. The new one is cool and all, but I dunno which appeals to me more-- shiny new tech or cheaper price. My beef with the iPad all along has been the price/utility ratio (subjective of course).

Black, 32GB is what I'm going with. Just checked the storage on my 16GB iPhone and I didn't realize I only had ~300MB left... and I only have games, photos and 1 movie on it.

I was in the same boat but since I'm not in a hurry, I'm waiting for the retina displays to make their way there before jumping in.

Not sure if i'm psyched for this, but I can see why everyone is. I recently made the jump from a 3GS to a 4S and the retina display's quality makes a world of difference.

This is where I am!

I have a MacBook Air, Windows 7 gaming PC, and iPhone 4S in the house, but the hype is getting to me on this iPad. I just don't think I'll use it, though. I hope their display technology finds its way into the next-gen MacBook Air.

I'm in the same boat. Just got a Touchpad and Vita within a year, but if they announce the new Macbooks with Retina Display and Fuel Cell batteries in the summer, I would day one.
