Finally got through. 32 GB Black. Now to figure out what to do with this old iPad 1.
Throw that old piece of shit in the trash, no one will want it now.

Yeah its out!
Pretty cool.
Speaking of which, finding good wallpapers for this thing is going to be a pain in the ass.My favorite part? Finally a new fucking default wallpaper![]()
Ok, so Apple exceeded every fucking expectation I had. Shows you how much stock to put in rumors, since it was almost 'confirmed' that it would be dual-core. Quad-core+Retina+LTE+much better camera+new software+same price point= orgasmic.

It IS dual core.
http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/While that is what is predicted, assuming you are talking about the CPU, and not the GPU, as far as I knew, they still haven't said what it is yet. Probably won't know for sure until iSupply or somebody does the teardown/microscope thing again.
Dual-core Apple A5X custom-designed, high-performance, low-power system-on-a-chip with quad-core graphics
Air playing the keynote on my iPad 2 on my apple tv 2. Going to wait on line to go get my iPad.
Not to dampen your spirits, but I believe it's a dual core CPU with quad core graphics.
There's something wrong with your iPad 2. I have always got silky smooth 720p video on the YouTube app.So will YouTube still run like shit on it? I can literally watch every other video stream fine on my ipad 2, but the YouTube app always stutters and plays like shit.

Weird, can't find it on my iPhone.

Seems Apple has dropped Google Maps in their iPhoto app.. Sign of things to come with iOS6 perhaps.

You must have had pretty low expectations. Those were all gimme expectations.

Gimme or not, this thing basically shits all over the competition ... and I really haven't seen anything in the pipeline that will match it.You must have had pretty low expectations. Those were all gimme expectations.

Are the smart covers the same ones as the iPad 2?
No, I didn't have 'low expectations'. There was a ton of rumors that the price would be bumped up, that it might not have LTE, etc. The graphics exceeded most expectations. I live on planet earth, and having all of the above checked is pretty damn impressive. Could you please list me what having 'high expectations' that Apple could have realistically matched would entail, for someone who is rational, reasonable, and living in reality? You know, not from a messageboard bot tat regurgitates insane expectations. I'm curious to know. I like how being impressed about a display that destroys everything else in the market is considered having 'low expectations' now. Amazing what some of you take for granted and how cynical you've become.

We basically have to wait until nVidia releases their next SoC and someone packs it with a 1080p/1200p screen to have something in the ballpark overall.
That reminds me though, has there been any word on RAM?
yup. they were not updated today at all
Yeah there must be some bitter tears over at nVidia. It's the only competitor shown, and is handily crushed by last year's model let alone the new one.Love the Tegra 3 trolling.
I dont get why they have to update the store so long just to add a new ipad.

And given the fact nVidia's bread & butter is graphics ... the trolling is strong with this one.
I'd agree with that, except for the screen. Sure it's taken for granted now since the rumors have been around forever ... but if one really hadn't heard those rumors, there's no way this was expected since there is nothing else with such a high resolution at this size.I'm not saying the hardware isn't nice. I'm just saying there's nothing unexpected or surprising in their announcement. It's a by the numbers/check list spec update that anyone could predict without even hearing a single rumor.
I wouldn't say they're just like Intel in this sector.nVidia is just like Intel when it comes to mobile processors; completely out of the market. God I remember seeing the performance with Tegra 2 when I was working on the Panasonic Jungle. It was a complete joke.
Ok, given that this exceeded expectations, what were you expecting to begin with? I don't see how these aren't expected specs even ignoring any and all rumors. Were you honestly not expecting a retina display?

As far as RAM goes, we probably won't know that till someone gets their hands on it or a developer leak. We usually don't get that info until a few days after the announcement.
I wonder if Obama is excited? Amazing how far the iPad has come and how engrained it's become in such a short amount of time.
