Don't think it's explicitly stated, but it would make sense, yeah.
The percentage was somewhere around 80% for ME2.
That was my theory: ending the series in a way that paves the road for something new. But according to Hudson and Walters they didn't even want to make post-ME3 games, with future Mass Effect games taking place during or before ME3.
Unworthy to wear the Cerberus logo.

Mass Effect 3 ending sparks FTC complaints
thread moves too fast, too lazy to check.
Question: what does the EMS actually do in the ending?
Pre-ME3, Geth out-matched Quarians in every way. Quarians recieved a massive upgrade in Military strength even between ME2 and ME3, which is never explained.
Neither species is limited by the Treaty of Farixen, but Geth should of had the advantage.
Question: what does the EMS actually do in the ending?
If there's one word to sum up the disappointment around the ending it's "pay-off".The worst part is that the War Assets and Galactic Readiness mechanics are pretty compelling in concept, but there's absolutely no payoff at the end other than enabling a few seconds of interchangeable video clips that in no way call back to anything you've done. There's so much missed possibility.
It's doubly frustrating because the Suicide Mission was such a great way of incorporating your actions throughout the game into the final sequence.
At least the multiplayer is fun!
Xen develops something that scrambles Geth communications, or something. It's why they were willing to accept Reaper code upgrades--Quarians couldn't mess up their codes anymore.
They started loading guns on on all of their life ships too.
Question: what does the EMS actually do in the ending?
This seems to be the worst possible ending, and it has the Normandy in the strange planet.

And, after these events, anyone care to guess why they would want our saves that reflect such a unique and individual experience?

Doesn't seem like anybody survived.

Well the door doesn't just open by itself.
Perhaps I'm alone but generally I like to play as a character something that resembles myself (as much as can be realistically expected). Thus my 'canon' playthrough' has always been with a soldier, rather than as magic classes.
That's actually the mini game from ME1. lol
Thats hilarious
Why, when they step out of the ship, do they not seem worried in any way? I think Joker even smiled.
I know this has probably been brought up but is there any justification for this ?
Determines if the red wave destroys all life on earth and you don't see anybody coming out of the normandy, even if the door starts to open.
Determines if the red or blue waves destroy big ben.
Determines if after the red wave, you see shepard laying in rubble in london taking a breath.
Previous games went out of their way to state that while they have the largest fleet by far, the majority of them aren't combat worthy. Its akin to slapping a shotgun on a bus and saying its a B-52 bomber.
Also, Geth built the super-dreadnaught within a month.
Edit: Just to be clear; The Quarian-Geth conflict is one of my favorite elements in the Universe.
I know this has probably been brought up but is there any justification for this ? It seems like the EMS was a neat gameplay mechanic they built the game around and since that was the core of the game it also must determine what color of space magic you pick at the end. I just watched the bad end and he says"there is only one option" without any justification.
The Keepers still working like a trooper despite all of the dead bodies piling up on Citadel was fucking creepy. I thought the beam took me to Silent Hill's alternate universe.

Proof that even when you give the shooter crowd choices they still choose to just shoot shit.

To be fair, Bioware pretty much eggs you to play soldier. The shepard on all the boxes are soldiers (a bit more ambiguous for 3 though). You never see shepard use biotics in cutscenes. And that ghost assault rifle that pops up in half the cutscenes (part of my ghost kid/gun theory ;P).

- Determines how much damage Earth takes from the explosion when the Crucible is activated (how does this make sense?)
- Makes Vent Kid give you the Synergy option
- Allows Shepard to live if it is maxed out and Destroy is chosen
-If you have a low amount your party members will die when you get struck by the reaper's beam and you will see their corpse while limping to the conduit.
-If you have a low amount you will see Earth burning in the end
-If you have a very high amount like 4000+ you see a 2-3 seconds movie showing Shepard breathing if you chose the destroy ending
-Synthesis ending requires something like 3000 EMS to be unlocked
that's it.
Yeah, beamed straight to hell. I actually thought it was a dream sequence at first. The Keepers still working like a trooper despite all of the dead bodies piling up on Citadel was fucking creepy. I thought the beam took me to Silent Hill's alternate universe.
I played soldier for grenades, really nothing else. Oh a horde is coming at me, grenade em, k lets move on.
I think I'm in the acceptance phase. It's just it's really disappointing that this is the way Bioware ended it. We were given such an in-depth universe and grandiose themes, but in the end they throw 99% of it out of the window and toss in something that I have no control over to fill in their own story, not the player's story. I feel like my Shepard was robbed of what he would do, and forced in into what Mac Shepard would do.
What was that gun you got halfway through the Earth battle? That gun was boss. One explosion and bye bye Banshee + 4-5 Cannibals.
lol after re-watching it, it seems like the Normandy got teleported by the space magic wave ring portal(?) thingy.
The Hydra Missile Launcher?
IVE GOT IT! The crew of the Normandy is actually dead and the planet they are on is actually the island from Lost!
what would you do?
i felt like the choices were fine. Hell even the reasoning was fine. The little kid bullshit was dumb though, but i can forget him as some ai guardian thing that probably only took the form of a human kid to relate to shepard.
Can you have it with you all the time? I want to upgrade the ammo capacity so I can go to town with it. But it seems you only get it that one time and then later on during the missile lauch part.
Still no explanation as to how it took the form of the vancouver kid. Am I to believe an artificial intelligence is now also psychic?
Proof that even when you give the shooter crowd choices they still choose to just shoot shit.
It's a heavy weapon so you can't carry it with you.
shepard could have seen it as that form since the kid was on his mind...i don't know. that was the dumbest part. the rest of the ending isn't worth getting upset over imo. The orange solution can keep the series going just fine w/o Geth or Reapers and possibly even have shepard alive.
