Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

This was just posted about 5 minutes ago on the official Mass Effect Facebook:

We are aware that there are concerns about a recent post from this account regarding the ending of the game. In this post it was stated that at this time we do not have plans to change the ending.

We would like to clarify that we are actively and seriously taking all player feedback into consideration and have ruled nothing out. At this time we are still collecting and considering your feedback and have not made a decision regarding requests to change the ending.

Your feedback and opinions are of the utmost importance to us. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Our top priority regarding this discussion is to keep communication with you, our loyal fans, open and productive.

"Join our company!" they said. "Be our community manager!" they said.

Poor Jessica. Should have stuck to cosplay.

The worst is that she seems genuine in her attempt to interact with the fanbase.

It must be a tough job when you have a fanbase like Bioware. :|

Hmm, I didn't know this. Hiring a cosplayer as your CM does make some weird sense for Bioware :P
This is obviously a joke before cosplayers go for my throat

Was she a pro, or any good at that at least?

Just when it seems like things are calming down, Bioware kicks the hornet's nest again. This is too entertaining to watch.

I just think they believe there's too much money on this, in turn, us complaining about it probably just makes it better for them in the long run.

Whoa, this is Merizen?

bueno

If she's a cosplayer than I would imagine she is probably a fan of the games too, makes for a good PR person when you actually play and enjoy games and aren't some corporate shill that just deflects every question.

Do feel bad for her though, not her fault Bioware made such a bad choice and now I'm sure she has to deal with the bulk of the backlash.

It seems like people are actually being cordial to her (relatively speaking). That probably has a lot to do with how genuine she seems to be with her responses. At least in the caring bit if nothing else.

The more I look at that picture the more I think it's a really zoomed in shot of an action figure.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

You know, I probably dislike the ending as much as everyone else, but some people are being downright pricks about this.

Participate in/make polls, send an email or a letter to Bioware, join a petition forum/FB group, post why you didn't like the ending on their forums; great, cool, awesome. However, some people are pulling out all stops trying to be as big of a douchebag to anyone and anything Bioware related that it's really just embarrassing.

I'm not talking about this thread, as it has been civil in here, but on the community forums, and some of the Facebook posts, and so on, people are behaving in a rather disgusting manner. It. Is. Just. A. Game. Some of the behavior does absolutely no good for our case, and if anything, makes it easier for Bioware and EA to write the collective "We want a new ending" group off as a fringe group that takes video games wayyyy too seriously.

Too funny. Almost as funny as "blowing shit up in style".

What the hell is going on over there. Seems like some mad dash to no-man's land.

Internal strife probably.

Lots of resentment at the people who 'fucked it up.'

Of course if the management is any good they'll turn it into a bunker-mentality, us against them scenario.

Does anybody know of a good video that explains the story of ME3, including all of the possible endings?

I'm curious what all of the furor is about.

Thanks for the feedback.

As much as I enjoyed (yes enjoyed) the Mako and planet exploration in ME1, I honestly didn't miss the lack of exploration in ME3. The atmosphere and pacing never really made it feel necessary nor appropriate. I would have loved to see more dedicated hub worlds, but the lack of planetary exploration was fine IMO.

Just watch the ending video it will make about as much sense to somebody who has never played Mass Effect as to somebody who read every book and comic and played all the games.

It shouldn't. I'd feel pretty bad for any PR person handling this cleanup, and she being a girl, much less an attractive one, shouldn't change anything. I hope there's been no death threats to any Bioware personnel right now because that's just terrible and discredits the cause.

It was a joke :p Honestly, it has to be the worst for her, obviously. I would not enjoy being in her spot.

That's a real post not a fake acc? It sounds like they're eventually going to change it... it's certainly leaning that way if you read between the lines.

It'll come down to marketing and $$, not appeasing the fans. If they do change it, it'll be because they realize they are going to take a hit on creating DLC content that no one cares about and doesn't bother to buy because we know there's no point.

Mofo's! So it's confirmed they got nothing and if they are going to address it they'll have to START it, so it will take a while to release AND not be good.

I got the exact opposite out of it. Saying they have "ruled nothing out" always sounds like shorthand for "we want to sound like we are exploring every option, but in reality, we have already made a decision". I am genuinely curious to see what Bioware does. Hell hath no fury like a gamer scorned.

But really, does anyone expect them to find/use a solution that plugs all the plot holes?

Inevitably some wounds will be left open and some nut on BioWare Social will declare DEFCON 5 on that shit.

I agree. Lack of exploration was a problem -for me- only solvable by having a very different kind of game, with more focus on discovery & adventure and less blowing shit up with style and urgency, yo. Not sure why it's even there as an option other than to rub it in.

I think a lot of fans just want something that's not offensively bad.

Also I'm more than open to them picking up the INDOCTRINATIONLOL ball and running with it.

Yeah I see it now. Don't have facebook but you can still see their page.

Bowdz, to me it sounds like they are leaning towards it but just haven't pulled the trigger on an announcement yet and have to iron out some details. What you described sounds evil... I don't think they'd do that.

I think at this point most people would be willing to overlook quite a bit if they just gave us a better ending. All they would have to do to get rid of the plot holes is just get rid of everything after you get lifted up in the elevator directly after passing out and take out the cut scene of the Normandy flying away.

Nearly every plot hole is in these two parts. Just do the indoctrination thing, basically fills it all out perfectly.

All everyone wants is resolution to see what happened to Earth, the fleets, your friends, your LI etc.

You can't fix this ending. You have to completely retcon it. There are too many holes.
