NFL Off-Season Thread: "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"

Most NFL teams make money. So that's not the problem.

The object of NFL teams is to make more money when possible. You can't possibly make enough money running a football team.

Teams like the Jaguars and Dolphins should be doing everything remotely possible to land Tebow. There are plenty other teams in the league who should be going after Tebowmania.

I wouldn't take a WR or RB in the draft unless you were certain the guys you were taking were once in a generation type talents. Richardson and Blackmon are not those guys. Dez Bryant and Crabtree would have me real worried about Blackmon.

Crabtree is a glorified slot receiver. He padded his stats against terrible defenses and was really only known for his catch against Earl Thomas. Too much hype built up around him. He did come into his own the second half of this season though. So there is still hope.

Dez on the other hand looks like a great talent. He just needs to get his head on straight and get over his injury problems. When he's healthy he can be dominant.

Alex left without a contract, WHAT A SHOCK

I just read we haven't signed Manningham yet? The deal was in principle? Uh oh.

Isnt that the object of every business? It would be awesome if this league was just for fun but its not.

The Jags should try and get tebow just for the sake of filling up their seats.

Sucks that Laron left and took a one year prove it deal just like Carlos. Carlos went on to become a pro bowler and Laron *if healthy has the potential to do the same.

Mike Reiss said:
Offense: TE Daniel Fells (Broncos), OL Robert Gallery (Seahawks), WR Anthony Gonzalez (Colts), WR Brandon Lloyd (Rams), WR Donte Stallworth (Redskins)

Defense: DL Jonathan Fanene (Bengals), S Steve Gregory (Chargers), DE Trevor Scott (Raiders), DB Marquice Cole (Jets)

All the Patriots signings thus far.

Also I see that Gay is visiting Zona, and the steelers 2.0 thing might be jumping the fucking shark at this point. Maybe we will take him and then give him right back like McFadden.

Haha was just talking to a friend about this.

I went pretty quickly from "confusion" to "watch other 2 endings on youtube" to "anger".

What is the problem people are complaining about?

Is it a bad cliffhanger or just an overall terrible story?

All good and dandy, but TEBOW won those games. the broncos season was done before he stepped in. miami, bears, chargers, vikings and jets was all Tebow offensively.
Tebow played a big role in those wins. As did the defense for keeping it close, and catching some lucky breaks. Prater also made some amazing kicks, but no one ever mentions him.

What about the terrible first three quarters or the numerous three and outs. I'm as big a fan as Tebow as one could be, but you are out of your mind if you can't see this as a definitive upgrade at QB. This is coming from a guy that threw his full support to Tebow just yesterday IF Manning signed elsewhere.

Prediction:
Tebow doesn't get traded.
Manning goes down in the 10th game of the season and Tebow leads the team to the superbowl.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the conditions of Manning signing was that Tebow had to go. I doubt Peyton wants to deal with those ignorant Tebow fanboys forcing him to look over his shoulder. Besides Elway wants him gone too. They'll just cut him if they have to. There's no reason to keep him around. He can't be a backup in Peyton's system.

Scat for Matt

I like the Fall flat for Matt someone else posted.

The Rams have settled for safe, need picks for too long. Fisher has said as much. Blackmon has a limited ceiling. Poe can be a force if coached up and motivated. I think they trade back from six and try and grab one of the cluster of WRs in the mid first, and again in the 2nd. Blackmon at #6 is just a reach

I'm not disagreeing with your reasoning for not going with him, just would be surprised if he isn't selected by your FO. I forgot for a second that you guys grabbed Fisher, maybe things will change.

HUGE MASS EFFECT 3 SPOILERS BELOW

HUGE

SERIOUSLY

DONT HIGHLIGHT IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED

There's basically just 3 different endings all 3 of which are virtually the same. None of the choices you make at all during the series are reflected in the ending. There's zero closure and zero epilogue of any kind.

But what really hurts me is that Mass Effect 3 may have been one of the best, if not THE BEST, game I've ever played up until that point.

I don't know, if there is a slight chance that Tebow is in good graces with a supernatural entity, you would want that in your favour.

Honest to Tebow, that's what they were saying. Not trying to troll.

Why trade the most talented QB from his year (Mallett) for Tebow?

I will fly out to Boston, drive to Foxborough and slap Josh McDaniels for suggesting shit like this to Bill and will then slap Bill even harder for listening if this happens.

Don't ask me ask Clayton, that's who they said it originated from.

Bill will probably have a kicker be the backup qb and the punter as his next center.

Tebow going to the Pats will not be good. Then again he will probably be cut in a year.

I really don't know what he's supposed to do there. We have two apparently capable back up QBs who's trade value is probably way lower than his. So we'd just switch guys that'll never play for a net loss.

Unless BB thinks he'd be a great pass rusher...

He would be a better running back, defensive player and special teams player than Brady. No brainer.

Belichek probably knows they aren't going to ever get anything out of Mallet, so why not parlay him into a guy that you can throw in there on 3rd and short and Goalline situations and save Lord Brady from extra punishment?
