Man "HD" comics looks soo good on the new ipad. I want mooooooore

Do they cost more? Whenever I see 'HD' after something what I'm really reading is 'nickel and dime edition'... digicomics are too expensive as is, I really hope they're not going to charge more to have them at a decent resolution. When you can read the indicia you know the books are too low res already.

I really must commend you guys on putting up an amazing OT every month for comics. I mainly read in trades but learning something new like these women starring comics makes me impulse buy some real keepers. Please keep up the amazing work and spreading awareness.

wow, I fucking hate the new 'souped up Spider-Man' costume for Ends of the Earth. All sorts of terrible. Story is great though, even if it does seem to be heavily hinting at the end of Horizon :/

Invincible Iron-Man has finally gotten better too, after a long period of bumbling along.

Hey thanks for saying all the same shit I just said! Why don't you go get your own contrarian opinion and come back when you aren't just ripping me off?

It's not my fault that you siphon off the residue of my greatness, and happened to be at a computer first because I was busy being awesome.

Oh yeah

Today was bring your kid to the comic shop at the comic shop.

WOW!

Kids everywhere.

Hope the little bastards get hooked. >:|

Am I the only who doesn't like Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow story very much? Don't get me wrong, I think it's very well written, but as far as Superman's final story goes, this one was very morbid. I much prefer All-Star Superman, at least in it he gets to help the world one more time before dieing.

Note to self: don't read the final arc of Sandman on the bus, you make a fool out of yourself with your red wet eyes.

In other news, I don't want this to end. Morpheeeeeeeeeuuuuuuus!

I went ahead and picked these up on the iPad:

Amazing Spider-Man #682
Justice League #7
John Carter: Gods of Mars #1
Fables #114
Fables #115

Should get a chance to read them over the weekend.

I'm loving Batman. How awesome was the
part with the bat and the bell, I'm thinking, I've seen this before, then the bat gets eaten by an owl as it leaves! So good!
I don't usually pick up tie-ins but this Night of Owls sounds like it'll be amazing. I might have to splurge and get some of them.

I also really liked Justice League #7. The writing does feel like it's geared toward younger readers but I'm fine with that. Plus I like seeing Steve Trevor because he's completely absent in the Wonder Woman title.

Don't see the problem with that new Wonder Woman.

Seriously.

That latest reveal on the Amazons is the further destruction of one incredibly flawed idea of a feminist uptopia. Said incredibly flawed idea actually comes almost directly from "real" Greek mythology.

But Azz's Wonder Woman is going to change that. Ultimately, her story arc will lead her to go and reshape Paradise Island as the actual feminist utopia she was raised to believe in. I believe this is what's going to happen, because the previous Amazonian society, the one that did all those awful things and then some that were shown in that last issue, this society has been destroyed when Hera showed up and turned everyone on Paradise Island into snakes or kill them or whatever she did I can't find the issue at the moment.

What I'm saying is, everything is gonna be okay. Wonder Woman is still a pretty kick-ass comic book, and Chiang on the art is killing it.

i'm hoping it's a bunch of lies since 1) everybody lies to her anyway and 2) it doesn't make sense in the story and 3) it doesn't seem like Azzarello would be the type of person to write something contradictory of his story without greater intent

but i have a problem with an already sexist industry implementing more sexism by using sexist mythology, and using it as the justification for why we should find this sexism acceptable. i'm sick of this crap.

we've got enough "man-hating feminist" garbage perpetuated in media already. i don't know why anybody would think we need to add more, especially in Wonder Woman, of all places.

Anybody else been keeping up with the Jean Grey School livetweets?

http://marvel.com/news/story/18354/jean_grey_school_livetweet_high_stakes_combat

The thought of Dr. Xanto Starblood having a Twitter account and live tweeting while attacking the school makes me laugh, as well as the fact that he's trying to troll everybody else while they ignore him up until:

Doctor Henry McCoy @HenryMcCoyPhD
My stars and garters! @xantostarblood has been following our livetweet this whole time?

:lol

Mike Choi won't be doing anything for Marvel or DC for a long while.

Anole @_Anole_
Geez louise. Who else has a Twitter? Mr. Sinister, you there? Nimrod? Should I be following Sauron?

In one page, Dan Slott shows Bendis how to write the Avengers characters.

There's must be a dozen guys at Marvel I would love to see take a whack at Avengers besides Bendis. Slott, Waid, Aaron, Gage, Van Lente, DnA, Remender, Gillen. The sooner Bendis leaves, the better.

Mike Choi won't be doing anything for Marvel or DC for a long while.

and why is that

taken a position where, damnit?

spill! that! tea!

Uh...lemme check to see if its out in the open yet.

Edit: He works at Industrial Toys now doing concept/game art.

i keep telling people. they will never learn.

o hey thanks for tellin me pulidos been drawin shade fer like 2 issues aready

I believe the idea was to use a different artist for each era/location Shade visits or some such thing. Planned artists include Darwyn Cooke, Pulido, Gene Ha, Jill Thompson, and at least one or two others. I keep saying the book is good and keep getting ignored. Either its not "indie" enough or people got scared off of Robinson because of his recent output. Rest assured this is Starman-era Robinson, not JLA-era Robinson.

I read a few issues and it was terribly written, but I'll buy anything Pulido draws. I'm not expecting it to be suddenly good.

haha man this comic just keeps getting better.

Quentin Quire @QQuire:
I love it when Olds call other people old and completely miss their own oldness. #trueadventuresofTheOlds

Did anyone check out Rebel Blood #1? I was afraid it might be Just Another Zombie Comic, but the premise was different enough, and the lead character's "fantasy" sequences were really well done.

shut up ya big dummy. the bday that matters is in October

this isnt a happy birthday

this isnt a happy birthday at all

Is that also when the secomd post of this thread will be updated? >:D

Yes, but as a Wonder Woman fan why do you hate men? ^_^

Got a big batch of trades from the liberry! Also Griff the Invisible which looked like a fun superhero / drama watch.

I'm doing my part to contribute to the downfall of literacy. Are YOU?!

when does A vs X start? because after reading x-sanction i think im gonna avoid that whole mess until it ends.....

thunderbolts was nice though....

Glad to see Bachalo is still putting up his better work on that book. Normally can't stand the guy but his WatXM stuff has been mostly tolerable.

I'm saving all my ability to tolerate mediocrity for AvX. Skipped X-Sanction, dropped New Avengers several issues ago, stopped ordering Avengers with #25 despite missing out on Simonson's artwork :(

I'm ready.

x-sanction was the comic equivalent of when you playfought your little sibling after every episode of x-men and kept switching characters because he chose a cheap one.

Me 2! His scene as a substitute teacher in WaXM was awesome!

Also, Toad as Milton from Office space is priceless

he is such a great background character

he truly is. if he doesnt nothing but make exaggerated expressions, he is still too awesome. it makes me wonder why japanese fans havent attached themselves to him....

you should probably endure more mediocrity. build up an immunity so you arent disappointed with how this ends and die of mediocrity poison

Anything by Bendis is unreadable. Brah has been trying to translate the genius of Gilmore Girls into comic form but has neither the tact or the soft touch to pull it off.
