If it's pandering crap, the gender of the director doesn't matter. I will try to have an open mind when watching it, though I have a feeling this comic will be relevant.
After watching the first episode just then, I don't think your assumptions will be accurate at all. The sexy stuff is pretty damn classy in terms of execution tbh. it's not trashy or in-your-face like say panty and stocking is for example.

Have you watched this / any thoughts? Looked pretty kuso / fanservicey IIRC, but the animation looked okay and I was going buy a Naoe figure a while ago.
I'm glad someone else is watching it (I just finished it over the weekend). Don't worry, things will heat up. To the point that you'll actually miss those fairly lighthearted days.
Inu x Boku SS 3 - Yes, this is shojo, isn't it... but yeah, good episode as usual.
Bodacious Space Pirates 13 - After a while, you start running out of words of praise for something... it's hard to rephrase "this series is so great" in a new way every time. But yes, this series is great, and this episode was good. This series so far has generally been better in space than on the planet, so that this episode is planetbound was a somewhat bad sign, but it's one of the better on-the-surface episodes, and was entertaining while also progressing the plot forwards.
I do think that
both princesses are now attending Marika's school
is anime being anime (ie, it's stupid and predictable), but apart from that, this was a solid episode. It was nice seeing the princesses visit Marika and her mother for dinner, good stuff.
Well certainly, but considering how horrible a character Rei is, that's not saying too much...
Asuka is one of the best Eva characters though, regardless.
Actually, no, in that case, FNC there wears skimpy underwear that wouldn't be seen in that shot, but she does wear some. The underwear fits the gun type you see, so for whatever reason the FNC wears that.
The theme of having shots that should show underwear but don't, with characters at other times revealed to be wearing underwear, is something that's out there though. It's a somewhat odd one, done to avoid the more fanservicey pantyshot I guess, but it is out there. Saki, of course, is somewhat different, its nopan is quite consistent and applies to everyone in the franchise too, apparently.
Overall I thought S1 was okay, but not as great as a lot of people did (S1 was quite popular when it first aired, remember), but yeah, it's definitely better in the airing order, the drama just doesn't work at all otherwise.
Constant confusion. I'm pretty sure I said "no" multiple times out loud. Not something I was expecting and it was a little... bad, coming after episode 11.
You're not. Kaiba isn't as diverse in animation styles as Kemonozume was, but Yuasa still gives other episode directors a fair amount of freedom. Just wait until you see the next episode.
The ending gets a little out of hand, but it's not too bad and certainly doesn't retroactively ruin the show. Personally, I didn't feel there were quality issues until midway through episode 11.
The latter, it's honestly impossible for the ending to detract from the quality of the rest of the series. Since most of it's best moments are episodic.
It's pretty meh. The first half was terrible and the second half was a bit better but not by much. I could maybe see these working as short five minute segments at most. As it stands, they're way too unfunny and protracted to hold my interest for long.
