Edit: as for the goal that was/wasn't. Who cares? at the end of the day, at 5-1 it hardly matters. Of course their should be goal line technology, but the second goal being scrubbed clearly wouldn't of mattered in the long run.

100% of the ball has to be completely over the line, and a bit of it was in that shot, so still no goal. And no redemption for Martin Atkinson, as giving a goal means that you are 100% sure that 100% of the ball was over the line, which was not what happened.

Atkinson isn't really redeemed cos he told 'Arry after the game he was "more sorry than you are" to which 'Arry replied "No I don't think you are" so unless Atkinson meant "Bitch plz I feel sorry for you cos you're gonna look stupid in the morning when everyone else sees what I saw" he cannot possibly be redeemed.
He probably looked at the same replays everyone else saw before this image came out which was thought to confirm no goal.

People already know 'Arry is tactically inept.
I know the red line doesn't look straight but because of the angle of the pic mainly + the way it distorts to the bottom. It is parallel with the back of the left post so it's as close to straight as it can get. I even used the ruler tool in photoshop to make sure it was.
Be easier to make out if the pic wasn't distorted.

Correct, whch is why IMO he shouldn't have awarded the goal.
the latter is why you judge the former. an official shouldn't give a goal unless they're sure it's crossed the line.

Still debating that phantom goal? They finished the match with a 4 goal margin, what difference does IT make.

A whole league or tournameant really, if it wasn't for that Lampard goal and blind ref during the world cup England would have won it easily.
It changed the match, but I always felt that Chelsea were going to win it anyway. I'm just sad/angry about the shoddy refereeing.
Same method. Can see how absolutely tiny the margin is - its the wrong decision but it's not as terrible as it first looked; doesn't really excuse the ref as there's no way he could be absolutely sure it crossed the line imo.
Now I need to go do something entertaining before the fact that I'm drawing lines on a picture (and being really rather anal about it) overwhelms me.

I missed Chelsea V Spurs. Driving to 5 a side and it finishe whilst I was playing. Sounds like the whole debate could solved within 30 seconds if we had goal line tech.

SAF has said he took Rooney off because he was getting complacent and he's "worse than the others" when he's like that and he wants to keep Rooney "on the edge". Interesting, and very true. In fairness Rooney himself has said he has to do better in his interview with MUTV.
Still 31 for the season now and 3 behind RVP in the hunt for the golden boot! Expect RVP to score a couple tmrw though.
