It is possible they're fake though I see no reason to fake them.

boot via the launcher, you'll get a notification and after that it's self explanatory.

I am getting a patch, it's not showing up in my game details though. But, if I look at the bottom it was showing a download. The patch is only 465 MB though. Hmmm...
