It's interesting to see that the latest 3DS firmware introduced a revamp of the eShop, with improvements here and there. Nintendo will certainly make sure that the Wii U equivalent will push, promote & distribute well the future downloadable content for the system.

The Miyamoto recent interview + other infos clearly hints at that. There's a shift in the market since a few years, with the growing importance of downloadable content, and it seems Nintendo is ready to give us our fair share of such titles.
And to illustrate that, read this interview of the creative strategist of Infinity Ward, who left the Call of Duty studio for, again, indie projects. We'll see more & more of those kind of news, Nintendo must catch and even better, help & nurture the plethora of new and "small" studios with their development. First-parties games + a good & friendly harbor for this new "scene" = success, it's more important than third-parties classic retail titles, from an industry point of view.
I have to believe that it'll get more of that sort of benefit than the Wii did. If the successor to Nintendo's best-selling home console doesn't receive more presumptive support than a console that launched at the end of a decade of decline--

Maybe they will sell better in the future, IF they keep on releasing DoA on Nintendo platforms, so their fans see that they are there to stay on Nintendo platforms?
I mean release ONE game and think it will be a huge success is not the way it will happen, keep it coming let it grow over time.
I've learned something:

I've already established that sales are currently strong. What does your question have to do with the name being a problem with sales? Can you establish a causal link between people confusing the name and the sales of the system suffering?
We're punishing ourselves here. The examples we come up with will be substantially cooler than what Nintendo actually delivers. This happened with the Wii, where we had many great ideas for a controller that knows how it's oriented and where it's moving and where it's pointing with repect to the television set, and very few of them came to fruition. This saddens me a bit.

Anyway, did any interesting news of really insanely amazing insights come out since around midnight? I did my browsing on cell phone and could swear I saw one or two interesting things I could add to my "List of Stop Claiming This Thread Is Going Fast With Zero News", but I've totally forgotten everything I read. :O

I'm actually part of medical-imaging-in-general-GAF, and currently am a lowly intern at a PET-CT department.
Nope, just a lot of hand wringing about Crytek and third party support.
But look on the bright side. There'll be a fresh wave of doom when Nintendo releases their financials in under 12 hours!
And maybe a nice announcement to soften the blow, if we're very lucky.
