Does John Carter beat up the Silver Surfer in gladiator-style combat? A Planet Hulk movie would be awesome.

As far as a Black Widow movie goes, it would make far more sense to just do a damn S.H.I.E.L.D. flick and give Widow, Hawkeye and Fury plenty of development and spotlight. It could use small cameos with The Avengers and deal with what S.H.I.E.L.D. has to do to keep superhuman crime fighters in check.

Don't forget Maria Hill.

Watched Captain America yesterday. It was boring and the action was super weak. Not enough humor either.

I'm halfway through Thor today and I'm liking it a lot more. Specifically because it doesn't have any of the issues I noted above.

I will not be watching The Hulk. I hated the Eric Bana one and the Edward Norton version doesn't look much better. I'll be fine with just seeing Ruffalo play the role in Avengers.

At the very least, watch Hulk vs Abomination on Youtube, if only because it's probably the best fight in a comic book movie since Spider-Man 2's train battle.

pretty fun movie, but as a side note, the, err, 'aliens' seemed woefully underprepared for a full-scale invasion of a world with guided missiles and nukes

I kinda want to see the Captain America movie now. I've already watched Thor, both Iron Man movies, and I'm not really interested in the Hulk movies - did I forget any The Avenger-prequels?

also, the trailer for the new Spiderman movie was pretty neat

I haven't heard anyone talk about the Spidey trailer yet. :(

Time to get this thread back on track ... with some Box office news! Another mind boggling day of 42.3M overseas without Russia, China, Japan. Total upto 260.5M now.

For reference, TF3 got 162M in it's 5 day weekend. Every prediction I'm seeing now is that 1B WW is a lock now.

Wow.
How many films have smashed the $1B mark?

There was a trailer for Amazing Spider-man at my screening. Nothing much to talk about though. I don't like the tone of the film and I haven't really been following it since I saw the first trailer and decided that I really didn't like how it looked and the cast in it. Just totally meh to me.

New one or the one which was released a month or two ago ?

Ice Age 4
The Amazing Spider-Man (it's a reboot but it's also been 5 years without a Spidey film).

Oh yeah, Ice Age.

I'll stick with my wrong prediction of Avengers not hitting 1b and saying this...

Avengers $999m
sorry
TDKR $1.1b
Hobbit $1.7b
Ice Age $1.2b
Spiderman $800m

Storm is coming

I'm not buying this, there are very few other movies out the moment, so it's not really a surprise that overseas markets would flock to see AA.

I expect there to be a big drop off when Dark Shadows and other May releases start to hit overseas.

People must be smoking some good whedon to think that this film is hitting 1b.

I had TA hitting $900 million max WW but $1 billion is definitely in play.

I think all of that is usually factored in when tracking a release like this.

Dark Shadows will do well but I don't see it cutting into The Avengers box office that much. I think The Dictator has a better chance of doing that.

Referencing Ghost Rider and Pavlovian conditioning in one sentence? THAAAAAAAT'S ARMOND

$260 right now with a $150+ domestic weekend coming up. $500 million WW in play by the end of Sunday.

Yeah, I'll say it's going to be in between $900m to $1b for sure.

They will wait until Amazing Spider-Man comes and goes. If the movie isn't a huge sucess for Sony, I honestly see them just taking a paycheck from Disney for rights to use Spider-Man in their own Marvel Universe films.

Let's hope Fox comes to their senses as well.

Spidey and Wolverine in Avengers 2... HHHHGGGGGGGNNNNN

To be honest, before this release, none of those but TDKR had much of a chance of making 1B. No way The Hobbit will even get close, in my opinion

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs grossed $886,686,817 WW in 2009. All Ice Age 4 needs is a 13% increase for it to hit $1billion. The Hobbit will be the highest grossing film OS in 2012.
