Tobor said people gasped at his showing and others.
Both showings. Audible gasps from multiple people.

I cried when Coulson died. I did not cry when Rachel died.
lolzRachel was definitely a life model decoy.
Ha, Rachel's death is handled far better than Coulson's even though it lost all of it's impact thanks to Maggie Gyllenhaal replacing Holmes.
..and the real death of TDK is Dent anyways.
Ripley's death in Outerspace Pocahontas 3D was better handled than TDKs deaths.
I mean, at least Sam Worthington almost managed to cry.
Haha.Hulk didn't steal the show, Coulson did.
Coulson is perfectly written and utilized. Seriously, I was so sad even coming out of the theatre that he died. Son of Coul is best Avenger.
Haha.
This thread wouldn't be any better if Whedon himself wrote the posts!
Wait, you're not Whedon? WHAT THE FUCK MAN.This thread wouldn't be any better if Whedon himself wrote the posts!
Cutting room floor.Where's Hawkeye and BW?

What? I said that it lost it's impact. It wasn't that clear in TDK that Dent was dead.
And LOL at suggesting that Rachel's death was more affecting to the audience than Coulson.
Sucks that NeoGAF got rid of GIF Avatars.
...and what was Coulson, exactly?Rachel got fridge'd because she was the stock Nolan throwaway female character that only exists for the sake of giving the hero some degree of character development. Her death wasn't well-handled at all.
You missed a couple:

EviLore said he felt embarrassed for the film using Coulson's death as a device to get them to assemble, I agree. It's offensively stupid; can't really blame Whedon for that one though because apparently Marvel Studios shoehorned that in? Just another example of them exerting too much control over a film and negatively effecting it.
...and what was Coulson, exactly?
Ms. Calendar pt. II...and what was Coulson, exactly?
Don't kid yourself.
So just saw it again today. Theater was packed, but it was so great to be a part of hearty laughter during all the quips and funny scenes.
I still don't quite get how Fury planting blood on the cards was so important. I mean I saw the post above how they had to work as a team, but I dunno, it seemed kind of redundant to me.
Both showings I went to, people gasped when Coulson died.
Plus the internet response.
Plus the discourse with friends afterwards.
Plus the majority of this thread
Plus the way I experienced it.
You guys in the minority saying it wasnt well portrayed doesnt really matter much. Most people cared when they saw it happen.
Plot wise, Tony is the only one that needed to be convinced on the team concept. Hawkeye, Black Widow and Cap were all over it. Thor never showed any disdain and seemed neutral, and Hulk seemed convinced early on, but only showed doubts when Tony started egging on.
Tony is not a soldier, when people he doesnt know die he reacts like everybody else does, ignores it. Its once someone hes kind of familiar with passes does he buy into the team concept because he really wants the Hulk to smash the shit out of Loki.
Its clear, its well explained, Coulson is likable and its well executed.
This pokemon shit has to stop.
Seriously.
