Eight million? How could he have even got that type of package deal when he signed? And to give it to their transfer budget? To a charity or the academy is understandable, but to a transfer budget? That could easily go to a flop signing. It makes no sense. The only way I'm going to accept it if it came from Henry's mouth himself.

lol was reading some articles about the CL Final and realized that most of them are written by Raphael Honigstein; guy must've made a fortune:

It makes it less believable.
It's made up obviously, but normally we don't sell our star players.

I'm not sure, but I think we rejected double that figure before.

He had two years left on his contract. Plus whatever severence pay he would get. It's up to Kenny what he does with his money and he decided to donate it in that way - if you don't want to believe it that's up to you, but knowing what Kenny has done and would do for this club I can certainly believe it.

Oh ye of little faith. Remember, this is Kenny we are talking about.

Maybe it wasn't exactly "stick it in the transfer kitty" but more along the lines of "Give it to the club, not me"

Also, this has probably been done pages ago, but there are strong rumours Jen Chang is our new Director of Communications. Slightly less strong rumours that Txiki Begiristain will be our new Director of Football.

You're right. Barca kinda did IMO and they were done over. And this time it's not two legs.

And I agree with you about City bidding. Juve will want to improve that team now and remain Champions at the end of the next season, Juve or City will not sell top players this summer.

I like Jen, have been following him on Twitter for a while. He's a keen admirer of Rafa too. Take of that what you will.

Txiki, the lad knows what he is doing.

Not trying to troll but I thought Kenny stepped down and didn't get the axe. If that's the case doesn't that mean no severance? So Pool actually fired him?

Yes. He's was given two chances to step down and rejected them.

As for the Txiki rumours, Balague says he hasn't been approached but Duncan Jenkins says he'll join. Despite his poor grammar, he seems to have got a lot of things right recently (Jenkins that is).

He was fired by FSG apparently. Only rumours so far though, although the official statement does say "after having his contract terminated".

I can believe it. This is the club of Shankly and Paisly. Working class blokes who put the club (and when they said club they meant it, as in working mens club) above making a buck.

I want it to be true actually. It would make football smell a little nicer.

A journalist at one of Norway's largest radio stations just tweeted: "Sources say Solskjær has signed for Villa. More in a bit." @Modreas
Retweeted by Matt Dickinson

Looks like it might be done. You can still put money on Solskjaer at 4/5 by the way.

He was sacked. I honestly couldn't see Kenny stepping down, he's too proud a guy I guess!

Didn't Balague say Kenny was staying right before he was sacked?

Ah, interesting......... Kenny didn't want to step down and seem feeble, gets fired and uses severance funds to go back into and fund the organization. Hard to dislike any part of that.

“The socialism I believe in is everyone working for each other, everyone having a share of the rewards. It’s the way I see football, the way I see life”

Didn't Balague say Kenny was staying right before he was sacked?

Just giving the view of a respected journalist, as well as an "itk" with poor grammar.

My god its full of Solskjær

Why are ppl. so sure about this?

Their defense will be even more laughable than in the cup final vs. Dortmund since Badstuber, Alaba and Gustavo (although he was pretty bad too, lol) are missing.
They can't just attack Chelsea for 90 minutes straight. The last team that tried to do that was Barca, wasn't it?
It's probably going to be:
Neuer - Lahm, Boateng, Tymoshchuk, Contento- Kroos, Schweinsteiger - Robben, T. Müller, Ribery - Gomez

They never played like that before.
- Contento only made 5 full 90m games this season (with 4 of them being in the last league games to prep him for Kalou or Sturrige or whatever). All those games (vs. avg. to bad Bundesliga sides) were pretty bad. Notice how Heynckes didn't even care to put him on vs. Dortmund? Because he knew that he'd fuck up.

- Tymoshchuk, who is a DMF, had some of his worst games for Bayern when LvGaal fucked around with their defense and put him in as CB.

- with Kroos & Schweinsteiger they lack a DMF who would be taking care of business. Normally with that MF they'd just present the midfield on a silver platter to the opponent's team.

So they are clear favs. only because they're at home?
Ok, on the flip-side they will feel obliged to press the attack and will open themselves for some nasty counters.
If Chelsea doesn't fuck it up too bad, they should at least be able to score some goals vs. them.

I feel like it's a good opportunity to make some money, actually.

Ramires is suspended! All hope is lost.

Last couple have days have been silly! And to top it off a guy I follow on Twitter who is known for his accurate information has said Capello to Chelsea is looking probable.

Maybe he has got it wrong this time, maybe he hasn't. Time to wait and see.

You forget the most important facts: Chelsea isnt close to Dortmunds level (at least against Bayern), Barca got extremely unlucky, the 3 suspended Bayern players were the worst players on Saturday => the new defense cant be worse than them.

I read something about Capello to Chelsea earlier today. I can't remember where (it wasn't twitter) but the seemed pretty certain.

Well looks like my £15 at 4/6 was well placed. I've always had a soft spot for Solskjaer even if he did play for United, so I wish him all the best, genuinely. Really nice man.
