I absolutely agree with this, however....
...upon second viewing, I don't think the 'wild' hulk comes just from rage. The way the scene is filmed leading up to him hulking out on the helicarrier, it is obvious that Loki (or, the staff, rather) is manipulating Banner's transformation/control. Actually, the staff is affecting them all negatively, the long camera flip into the upside-down argument being framed by the staff is a clear indication of this...and then for Banner to grab the thing, it just breaks down the walls of control that he has worked to build up.
Did anyone else notice that when Loki was first brought aboard the Helicarrier that when he passed by the labs he made eye contact with Bruce? And that immediately after Bruce began to rub his eyes? Think that could have been a contributor as well?
