How come there's so few people on the Gauge leaderboards?! Nobody except for The Game Atelier shows up on the Limitless Mode (looove that mode). My score atm is 2.279.084.000. Come at me.

I guess this is as good a place as any. Last night my (ancient) 3GS freaked out and said calls couldn't be made or received, then said I need to connect to iTunes. Did so and it claims to need a restore. Fine. But it errors every time, with error (1). It's not jailbroken or unlocked, I've tried DFU mode, and doing it from my Windows partition. DFU mode or not, it goes up to like 75% and then resets and says the error.

Any advice? I've waited this fucking long for an iPhone 5 I don't want to have to waste my upgrade on something now. :\

Oh boy... there's ways around this but it's tricky, I don't remember any of the specifics but I had something similar a year or so back and had to get some command line tools to log into the iPhone's shell during dfu and change a few things for the boot process... So I think your problem is fixable but it will take you some research and tinkering to get there.

The new Starbase Orion update is awesome.
Leaders add a lot to game...so many new possibilities!!!!

I'm having a real blast with the game.
Playing now an async co op game against multiple AI on a huge galaxy.
It's incredible, and it plays great with async.

Now that I understand Gauges "2nd gauge" system, it has gone from an endurance marathon to an intense session of patting your head whilst rubbing your belly!

would like to ask, whats the difference between Dark Meadow and Dark Meadow: The Pact? are they even the same game or sequels?

Are there any cool (English) iOS games by Japanese developers? I know of the Chaos Rings games, Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick, but apart of that I'm aware of next to nothing. Anything worthwile?

It's the same game at its core.

Dark Meadow is the premium, paid game.
Dark Meadow: The Pact is the freemium version of the premium, paid game.

Any of the Cave games are worth having, to the point I refuse to ever delete them from my phone, regardless of how often I'm pressed for space.

Shantae: Riskys Revenge price dropped to $1.99 (from $4.99)

Broken Sword - Smoking Mirror : Remastered on sale for $0.99 (from $5.99)

EVERYONE needs Smoking mirror. Best point&click adventure on iOS. (maybe after Sword&Sworcery if you count that, but definitely the best TRADITIONAL point&click adventure). Great story, great voice acting, great look, great gameplay, great UI, great puzzles, great everything.

Not sure what was confusing about the maps in the originals, but the maps are pretty straightforward in this game.

This is what I was talking about. Though it's not half as bad as I though, the fact that not all of the dots line up made this area super frustrating to me, and I ultimately just abandoned the map altogether and randomly stumbled through dungeons.

Also, I really hate this lazy map design of "boxes connected by lines". Is it really so much to ask that, at the very least, the rooms on the map somewhat resemble their true shape and positioning within the world. I also hate the "bunch of unrelated rooms connected incoherently by teleporters" design. It makes it impossible for me to get a grip on any sort of world flow.

That's not to say I didn't like the original Chaos Rings. The story was cool and the combat was decent (though it felt a little shallow from what I played). I'd be up for Chaos Rings 2 once I've taken care of a bit of my current library. I'd just like to know what to expect.

What's your GC ID? I'd be up for a co-op game.

That was my first and only game of limitless. :)

I only like time and touch modes. What's your GC name by the way?

And here I was thinking I was good... Haven't played that much yet though and my score is now near 5,000,000,000. I still don't see anyone else on the leaderboard, what the hell?

My GC is Reese015!

Hmmmmmmm. For some reason it's not letting me send a friend invite to you. Keeps saying the name is wrong even though I copy and pasted your name with and without the exclamation mark.

I hope people are not tired of me posting my Gauge scores here but I feel compelled to.

So, I'm having this huge urge to play final fantasy VI on my iPad, but since square insists on leaving me hanging.....:P

What is the best alternative? Chaos Rings? Already played the first one by the way, is it wise to get the 2nd?

Sure! Same as my GAF nick, without the GAF :)

I'm a total newbie in the game and I tend to play not many games concurrently (it's a bit confusing) but I'm at disposal :)
I like coop against multiple easy AI, large or very large galaxies and fast game (normal is too slow).

Any advice for mining in Galaxy on Fire 2? I asked over on TA, but all I got was "keep practicing." That ain't cuttin' it (literally). I've been unable to successfully mine a single asteroid. Damn drill wobbles all over the place. There has to be a way to control that thing better.

Shit, Dungeon Village looks amazing. Never having played a Kairosoft game before, how long do these things last? Do you "beat" them at some point?

you have to keep the drill steady with your finger. it is annoying i know i have been there but i usually get enough ore then quit then go to the next asteroid. Don't think you have to drill to the end. Later on in the game you can buy a better drill.

Okay, then -- two questions:

1. When you say control the drill with your finger, can you control it by placing your finger directly on the drill, or do you still have to use the virtual stick? Because that just isn't working for me.

and

2. How do you quit out without destroying the rest of the asteroid or failing?

That does look a little confusing.

Here's a map from Chaos Rings 2

You keep it steady with the virtual stick, if you use tilt controls I guess you tilt? the first time you mine at the beginning it does teach you for what I remember.

You hit the action button to cancel mining at the level you reach, it will blow the asteroid but you keep what you grab.

I'm stepping up my game on Gauge (stepping up my Gauge? stepping up my George?), I'm comin' at you son. Add me again on GC, should work now, Reese015.

yes yes yes!
been waiting for this on iphone for ages
absolutely loved it on android
best kairosoft game

this game can easily net 50 hours+ of repeated play
the game ends after 16 game years but you can continue playing it afterward or start new play through with bonuses
can also "beat" it by mastering the game before year 16
